1st-Kings 17:1 | And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, As Jehovah the God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except by my word. | Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the sojourners of Gilead, said to Ahab, As Yahweh, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. | And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. |
1st-Kings 17:2 | And the word of Jehovah came to him saying, | The word of Yahweh came to him, saying, | And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, |
1st-Kings 17:3 | Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the torrent Cherith, which is before the Jordan. | Get you hence, and turn you eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, that is before the Jordan. | Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. |
1st-Kings 17:4 | And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the torrent; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. | It shall be, that you shall drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there. | And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. |
1st-Kings 17:5 | And he went and did according to the word of Jehovah; he went and abode by the torrent Cherith, which is before the Jordan. | So he went and did according to the word of Yahweh; for he went and lived by the brook Cherith, that is before the Jordan. | So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. |
1st-Kings 17:6 | And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the torrent. | The ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook. | And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook. |
1st-Kings 17:7 | And it came to pass after a while that the torrent dried up, for there had been no rain in the land. | It happened after a while, that the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land. | And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land. |
1st-Kings 17:8 | And the word of Jehovah came to him saying, | The word of Yahweh came to him, saying, | And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, |
1st-Kings 17:9 | Arise, go to Zarephath, which is by Zidon, and abide there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to maintain thee. | Arise, get you to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain you. | Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. |
1st-Kings 17:10 | And he arose and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the entrance of the city, behold, a widow woman was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. | So he arose and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks: and he called to her, and said, Please get me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. | So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. |
1st-Kings 17:11 | And she went to fetch [it], and he called to her and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thy hand. | As she was going to get it, he called to her, and said, Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand. | And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand. |
1st-Kings 17:12 | And she said, As Jehovah thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but a handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse; and behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. | She said, As Yahweh your God lives, I aren't they a cake, but a handful of meal in the jar, and a little oil in the jar: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and bake it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. | And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. |
1st-Kings 17:13 | And Elijah said to her, Fear not; go, do as thou hast said; but make me thereof a little cake first; and bring it to me; and afterwards make for thee and for thy son. | Elijah said to her, Don't be afraid; go and do as you have said; but make me of it a little cake first, and bring it forth to me, and afterward make for you and for your son. | And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. |
1st-Kings 17:14 | For thus saith Jehovah the God of Israel: The meal in the barrel shall not waste, neither shall the oil in the cruse fail, until the day that Jehovah sendeth rain upon the face of the earth! | For thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, The jar of meal shall not empty, neither shall the jar of oil fail, until the day that Yahweh sends rain on the earth. | For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth. |
