| Luke 17:1 | And he said to his disciples, It cannot be but that offences come, but woe [to him] by whom they come! | He said to the disciples, "It is impossible that occasions of stumbling should not come, but woe to him through whom they come! | Jesus said to His disciples, "It is inevitable that causes of stumbling should come; but alas for him through whom they come! |
| Luke 17:2 | It would be [more] profitable for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck and he cast into the sea, than that he should be a snare to one of these little ones. | It would be better for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble. | It would be well for him if, with a millstone round his neck, he were lying at the bottom of the sea, rather than that he should cause even one of these little ones to fall. |

| Luke 17:8 | But will he not say to him, Prepare what I shall sup on, and gird thyself and serve me that I may eat and drink; and after that *thou* shalt eat and drink? | and will not rather tell him, 'Prepare my supper, clothe yourself properly, and serve me, while I eat and drink. Afterward you will eat and drink?' | and will not rather say to him, `Get my dinner ready, make yourself tidy, and wait upon me till I have finished my dinner, and then you shall have yours'? |
