| Mark 10:1 | And rising up thence he comes into the coasts of Judaea, and the other side of the Jordan. And again crowds come together to him, and, as he was accustomed, again he taught them. | He arose from there and came into the borders of Judea and beyond the Jordan. Multitudes came together to him again. As he usually did, he taught them again. | Soon on His feet once more, He enters the district of Judaea and crosses the Jordan: again the people flock to Him, and ere long, as was usual with Him, He was teaching them once more. |
| Mark 10:2 | And Pharisees coming to [him] asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away [his] wife? (tempting him). | There came to him Pharisees testing him, and asked him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?" | Presently a party of Pharisees come to Him with the question seeking to entrap Him, "May a man divorce his wife?" |
| Mark 10:3 | But he answering said to them, What did Moses command you? | He answered, "What did Moses command you?" | "What rule did Moses lay down for you?" He answered. |
