1st-Peter 4:1Christ, then, having suffered for us in [the] flesh, do *ye* also arm yourselves with the same mind; for he that has suffered in [the] flesh has done with sin,Forasmuch then as Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin;Christ, then, having suffered for us in the flesh, ye also with the same mind arm yourselves, because he who did suffer in the flesh hath done with sin,
1st-Peter 4:2no longer to live the rest of [his] time in [the] flesh to men's lusts, but to God's will.that you no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.no more in the desires of men, but in the will of God, to live the rest of the time in the flesh;
1st-Peter 4:3For the time past [is] sufficient [for us] to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, walking in lasciviousness, lusts, wine-drinking, revels, drinkings, and unhallowed idolatries.For we have spent enough of our past time living in doing the desire of the Gentiles, and to have walked in lasciviousness, lusts, drunken binges, orgies, carousings, and abominable idolatries.for sufficient to us [is] the past time of life the will of the nations to have wrought, having walked in lasciviousnesses, desires, excesses of wines, revelings, drinking-bouts, and unlawful idolatries,
1st-Peter 4:4Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with [them] to the same sink of corruption, speaking injuriously [of you];They think it is strange that you don't run with them into the same excess of riot, blaspheming:in which they think it strange your not running with them to the same excess of dissoluteness, speaking evil,
1st-Peter 4:5who shall render account to him who is ready to judge [the] living and [the] dead.who will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.who shall give an account to Him who is ready to judge living and dead,
1st-Peter 4:6For to this [end] were the glad tidings preached to [the] dead also, that they might be judged, as regards men, after [the] flesh, but live, as regards God, after [the] Spirit.For to this end was the gospel preached even to the dead, that they might be judged indeed as men in the flesh, but live as to God in the spirit.for for this also to dead men was good news proclaimed, that they may be judged, indeed, according to men in the flesh, and may live according to God in the spirit.
1st-Peter 4:7But the end of all things is drawn nigh: be sober therefore, and be watchful unto prayers;But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer.And of all things the end hath come nigh; be sober-minded, then, and watch unto the prayers,
1st-Peter 4:8but before all things having fervent love among yourselves, because love covers a multitude of sins;And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.and, before all things, to one another having the earnest love, because the love shall cover a multitude of sins;
1st-Peter 4:9hospitable one to another, without murmuring;Be hospitable one to another without grumbling.hospitable to one another, without murmuring;
1st-Peter 4:10each according as he has received a gift, ministering it to one another, as good stewards of [the] various grace of God.According as each has received a gift, be ministering it among yourselves, as good stewards of the grace of God in its various forms.each, according as he received a gift, to one another ministering it, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God;
1st-Peter 4:11If any one speak as oracles of God; if any one minister as of strength which God supplies; that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the might for the ages of ages. Amen.If any man speaks, let it be as it were oracles of God. If any man serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, whose is the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.if any one doth speak `as oracles of God;` if any one doth minister `as of the ability which God doth supply;` that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the power to the ages of the ages. Amen.
1st-Peter 4:12Beloved, take not [as] strange the fire [of persecution] which has taken place amongst you for [your] trial, as if a strange thing was happening to you;Beloved, don't be astonished at the fiery trial which has come upon you, to test you, as though a strange thing happened to you.Beloved, think it not strange at the fiery suffering among you that is coming to try you, as if a strange thing were happening to you,
1st-Peter 4:13but as ye have share in the sufferings of Christ, rejoice, that in the revelation of his glory also ye may rejoice with exultation.But because you are partakers of Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory also you may rejoice with exceeding joy.but, according as ye have fellowship with the sufferings of the Christ, rejoice ye, that also in the revelation of his glory ye may rejoice exulting;
1st-Peter 4:14If ye are reproached in [the] name of Christ, blessed [are ye]; for the [Spirit] of glory and the Spirit of God rests upon you: [on their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.]If you are insulted for the name of Christ, blessed are you; because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. On their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.if ye be reproached in the name of Christ happy [are ye], because the Spirit of glory and of God upon you doth rest; in regard, indeed, to them, he is evil-spoken of, and in regard to you, he is glorified;
1st-Peter 4:15Let none of you suffer indeed as murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or as overseer of other people's matters;For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil doer, or as a meddler in other men's matters.for let none of you suffer as a murderer, or thief, or evil-doer, or as an inspector into other men`s matters;
1st-Peter 4:16but if as a christian, let him not be ashamed, but glorify God in this name.But if one of you suffers for being a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this matter.and if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; and let him glorify God in this respect;
1st-Peter 4:17For the time of having the judgment begin from the house of God [is come]; but if first from us, what [shall be] the end of those who obey not the glad tidings of God?For the time [has come] for judgment to begin at the house of God. If it begins first at us, what will happen to those who don't obey the gospel of God?because it is the time of the beginning of the judgment from the house of God, and if first from us, what the end of those disobedient to the good news of God?
1st-Peter 4:18And if the righteous is difficultly saved, where shall the impious and [the] sinner appear?"If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will happen to the ungodly and the sinner?"And if the righteous man is scarcely saved, the ungodly and sinner where shall he appear?
1st-Peter 4:19Wherefore also let them who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing to a faithful Creator.Therefore let them also who suffer according to the will of God in doing good entrust their souls to him, as to a faithful Creator.so that also those suffering according to the will of god, as to a stedfast Creator, let them commit their own souls in good doing.
