| Matthew 25:1 | Then shall the kingdom of the heavens be made like to ten virgins that having taken their torches, went forth to meet the bridegroom. | "Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. | `Then shall the reign of the heavens be likened to ten virgins, who, having taken their lamps, went forth to meet the bridegroom; |
| Matthew 25:2 | And five of them were prudent and five foolish. | Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. | and five of them were prudent, and five foolish; |
| Matthew 25:3 | They that were foolish took their torches and did not take oil with them; | Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them, | they who were foolish having taken their lamps, did not take with themselves oil; |
| Matthew 25:4 | but the prudent took oil in their vessels with their torches. | but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. | and the prudent took oil in their vessels, with their lamps. |
| Matthew 25:5 | Now the bridegroom tarrying, they all grew heavy and slept. | Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept. | `And the bridegroom tarrying, they all nodded and were sleeping, |
| Matthew 25:6 | But in [the] middle of [the] night there was a cry, Behold, the bridegroom; go forth to meet him. | But at midnight there was a cry, 'Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!' | and in the middle of the night a cry was made, Lo, the bridegroom doth come; go ye forth to meet him. |

| Matthew 25:9 | But the prudent answered saying, [We cannot,] lest it might not suffice for us and for you. Go rather to those that sell, and buy for yourselves. | But the wise answered, saying, 'What if there will not be enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' | and the prudent answered, saying Lest there may not be sufficient for us and you, go ye rather unto those selling, and buy for yourselves. |
| Matthew 25:10 | But as they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and the [ones that were] ready went in with him to the wedding feast, and the door was shut. | While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. | `And while they are going away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those ready went in with him to the marriage-feasts, and the door was shut; |
| Matthew 25:11 | Afterwards come also the rest of the virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us; | Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us.' | and afterwards come also do the rest of the virgins, saying, Sir, sir, open to us; |
| Matthew 25:12 | but he answering said, Verily I say unto you, I do not know you. | But he answered, 'Most assuredly I tell you, I don't know you.' | and he answering said, Verily I say to you, I have not known you. |
| Matthew 25:13 | Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour. | Watch therefore, for you don't know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. | `Watch therefore, for ye have not known the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man doth come. |
| Matthew 25:14 | For [it is] as [if] a man going away out of a country called his own bondmen and delivered to them his substance. | "For it is like a man, going into another country, who called his own servants, and delivered his goods to them. | `For as a man going abroad did call his own servants, and did deliver to them his substance, |

| Matthew 25:19 | And after a long time the lord of those bondmen comes and reckons with them. | Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and reconciled accounts with them. | `And after a long time cometh the lord of those servants, and taketh reckoning with them; |
| Matthew 25:20 | And he that had received the five talents came to [him] and brought five other talents, saying, [My] lord, thou deliveredst me five talents; behold, I have gained five other talents besides them. | He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents besides them.' | and he who did receive the five talents having come, brought other five talents, saying, `Sir, five talents thou didst deliver to me; lo, other five talents did I gain besides them. |
| Matthew 25:21 | His lord said to him, Well, good and faithful bondman, thou wast faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter into the joy of thy lord. | His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' | `And his lord said to him, Well done, servant, good and faithful, over a few things thou wast faithful, over many things I will set thee; enter into the joy of thy lord. |

| Matthew 25:24 | And he also that had received the one talent coming to [him] said, [My] lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou hadst not sowed, and gathering from where thou hadst not scattered, | He also who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter. | `And he also who hath received the one talent having come, said, Sir, I knew thee, that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou didst not sow, and gathering from whence thou didst not scatter; |
| Matthew 25:25 | and being afraid I went away and hid thy talent in the earth; behold, thou hast that which is thine. | I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. You knew that I reap where I didn't sow, and gather where I didn't scatter. | `And his lord answering said to him, Evil servant, and slothful, thou hadst known that I reap where I did not sow, and I gather whence I did not scatter! |
| Matthew 25:27 | thou oughtest then to have put my money to the money-changers, and when I came I should have got what is mine with interest. | You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest. | it behoved thee then to put my money to the money-lenders, and having come I had received mine own with increase. |

| Matthew 25:29 | for to every one that has shall be given, and he shall be in abundance; but from him that has not, that even which he has shall be taken from him. | For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who has not, even that which he has will be taken away. | for to every one having shall be given, and he shall have overabundance, and from him who is not having, even that which he hath shall be taken from him; |

| Matthew 25:38 | and when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in; or naked, and clothed thee? | When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? | and when did we see thee a stranger, and we received? or naked, and we put around? |
| Matthew 25:39 | and when saw we thee ill, or in prison, and came to thee? | When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?' | and when did we see thee infirm, or in prison, and we came unto thee? |
| Matthew 25:40 | And the King answering shall say to them, Verily, I say to you, Inasmuch as ye have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it to me. | The King will answer them, 'Most assuredly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.' | `And the king answering, shall say to them, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye did [it] to one of these my brethren the least to me ye did [it]. |

| Matthew 25:46 | And these shall go away into eternal punishment, and the righteous into life eternal. | These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." | And these shall go away to punishment age-during, but the righteous to life age-during.` |
