Exodus 9:1 | And Jehovah said to Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith Jehovah the God of the Hebrews: Let my people go, that they may serve me. | And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Go in unto Pharaoh, and thou hast spoken unto him, Thus said Jehovah, God of the Hebrews, Send My people away, and they serve me, | Then the Lord said to Moses, Go in to Pharaoh and say to him, This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: Let my people go so that they may give me worship. |
Exodus 9:2 | For if thou refuse to let them go, and shalt retain them still, | for, if thou art refusing to send away, and art still keeping hold upon them, | For if you will not let them go, but still keep them in your power, |
Exodus 9:3 | behold, the hand of Jehovah shall be on thy cattle which is in the field, on the horses, on the asses, on the camels, on the oxen and on the sheep, with a very grievous plague. | lo, the hand of Jehovah is on thy cattle which [are] in the field, on horses, on asses, on camels, on herd, and on flock a pestilence very grievous. | Then the hand of the Lord will put on your cattle in the field, on the horses and the asses and the camels, on the herds and the flocks, a very evil disease. |
Exodus 9:4 | And Jehovah will distinguish between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt; and there shall nothing die of all that the children of Israel have. | `And Jehovah hath separated between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt, and there doth not die a thing of all the sons of Israel`s; | And the Lord will make a division between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt; there will be no loss of any of the cattle of Israel. |
Exodus 9:5 | And Jehovah appointed a set time, saying, To-morrow will Jehovah do this thing in the land. | and Jehovah setteth an appointed time, saying, To-morrow doth Jehovah do this thing in the land.` | And the time was fixed by the Lord, and he said, Tomorrow the Lord will do this thing in the land. |
Exodus 9:6 | And Jehovah did this thing on the following day, and all the cattle of Egypt died; but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one. | And Jehovah doth this thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt die, and of the cattle of the sons of Israel not one hath died; | And on the day after, the Lord did as he had said, causing the death of all the cattle of Egypt, but there was no loss of any of the cattle of Israel. |
Exodus 9:7 | And Pharaoh sent, and behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. But the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go. | and Pharaoh sendeth, and lo, not even one of the cattle of Israel hath died, and the heart of Pharaoh is hard, and he hath not sent the people away. | And Pharaoh sent and got word that there was no loss of any of the cattle of Israel. But the heart of Pharaoh was hard and he did not let the people go. |
Exodus 9:8 | And Jehovah said to Moses and to Aaron, Take to yourselves handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses scatter it toward the heavens before the eyes of Pharaoh. | And Jehovah saith unto Moses and unto Aaron, `Take to you the fulness of your hands [of] soot of a furnace, and Moses hath sprinkled it towards the heavens, before the eyes of Pharaoh, | And the Lord said to Moses and to Aaron, Take in your hand a little dust from the fire and let Moses send it in a shower up to heaven before the eyes of Pharaoh. |
Exodus 9:9 | And it shall become fine dust over all the land of Egypt, and shall become boils on man and on cattle, breaking out [with] blisters, throughout the land of Egypt. | and it hath become small dust over all the land of Egypt, and it hath become on man and on cattle a boil breaking forth [with] blains, in all the land of Egypt.` | And it will become small dust over all the land of Egypt, and will be a skin-disease bursting out in wounds on man and beast through all the land of Egypt. |
Exodus 9:10 | And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it toward the heavens; and it became boils [with] blisters breaking out on man and on cattle. | And they take the soot of the furnace, and stand before Pharaoh, and Moses sprinkleth it towards the heavens, and it is a boil [with] blains, breaking forth, on man and on beast; | So they took some dust from the fire, and placing themselves before Pharaoh, Moses sent it out in a shower up to heaven; and it became a skin-disease bursting out on man and on beast. |
Exodus 9:11 | And the scribes could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boils were on the scribes, and on all the Egyptians. | and the scribes have not been able to stand before Moses, because of the boil, for the boil hath been on the scribes, and on all the Egyptians. | And the wonder-workers were not able to take their places before Moses, because of the disease; for the disease was on the wonder-workers and on all the Egyptians. |
Exodus 9:12 | And Jehovah made Pharaoh's heart stubborn, and he did not hearken to them, as Jehovah had told Moses. | And Jehovah strengtheneth the heart of Pharaoh, and he hath not hearkened unto them, as Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses. | And the Lord made Pharaoh's heart hard, and he would not give ear to them, as the Lord had said. |
Exodus 9:13 | And Jehovah said to Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and set thyself before Pharaoh, and say to him, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of the Hebrews: Let my people go, that they may serve me. | And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Rise early in the morning, and station thyself before Pharaoh, and thou hast said unto him, Thus said Jehovah, God of the Hebrews, Send My people away, and they serve Me, | And the Lord said to Moses, Get up early in the morning and take your place before Pharaoh, and say to him, This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: Let my people go so that they may give me worship. |
Exodus 9:14 | For I will at this time send all my plagues to thy heart, and on thy bondmen, and on thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth. | for, at this time I am sending all My plagues unto thy heart, and on thy servants, and on thy people, so that thou knowest that there is none like Me in all the earth, | For this time I will send all my punishments on yourself and on your servants and on your people; so that you may see that there is no other like me in all the earth. |
Exodus 9:15 | For now shall I put forth my hand, and I will smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth. | for now I have put forth My hand, and I smite thee, and thy people, with pestilence, and thou art hidden from the earth. | For if I had put the full weight of my hand on you and your people, you would have been cut off from the earth: |
Exodus 9:16 | And for this very cause have I raised thee up, to shew thee my power; and that my name may be declared in all the earth. | `And yet for this I have caused thee to stand, so as to show thee My power, and for the sake of declaring My Name in all the earth; | But, for this very reason, I have kept you from destruction, to make clear to you my power, and so that my name may be honoured through all the earth. |
Exodus 9:17 | Dost thou still exalt thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go? | still thou art exalting thyself against My people so as not to send them away; | Are you still uplifted in pride against my people so that you will not let them go? |
Exodus 9:18 | Behold, to-morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since its foundation until now. | lo, I am raining about [this] time to-morrow hail very grievous, such as hath not been in Egypt, even from the day of its being founded, even until now. | Truly, tomorrow about this time I will send down an ice-storm, such as never was in Egypt from its earliest days till now. |
Exodus 9:19 | And now send, [and] secure thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field: all the men and the cattle that are found in the field, and are not brought home on them the hail shall come down, and they shall die. | `And, now, send, strengthen thy cattle and all that thou hast in the field; every man and beast which is found in the field, and is not gathered into the house come down on them hath the hail, and they have died.` | Then send quickly and get in your cattle and all you have from the fields; for if any man or beast in the field has not been put under cover, the ice-storm will come down on them with destruction. |
Exodus 9:20 | He that feared the word of Jehovah among the bondmen of Pharaoh made his bondmen and his cattle flee into the houses. | He who is fearing the word of Jehovah among the servants of Pharaoh hath caused his servants and his cattle to flee unto the houses; | Then everyone among the servants of Pharaoh who had the fear of the Lord, made his servants and his cattle come quickly into the house: |
Exodus 9:21 | But he that did not regard the word of Jehovah left his bondmen and his cattle in the field. | and he who hath not set his heart unto the word of Jehovah leaveth his servants and his cattle in the field. | And he who gave no attention to the word of the Lord, kept his servants and his cattle in the field. |
Exodus 9:22 | And Jehovah said to Moses, Stretch out thy hand toward the heavens, that there may be hail throughout the land of Egypt, upon men, and upon cattle, and upon every herb of the field in the land of Egypt. | And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Stretch forth thy hand towards the heavens, and there is hail in all the land of Egypt, on man, and on beast, and on every herb of the field in the land of Egypt.` | And the Lord said to Moses, Now let your hand be stretched out to heaven so that there may be an ice-storm on all the land of Egypt, on man and on beast and on every plant of the field through all the land of Egypt. |
Exodus 9:23 | And Moses stretched out his staff toward the heavens, and Jehovah gave thunder and hail; and the fire ran along the ground; and Jehovah rained hail on the land of Egypt. | And Moses stretcheth out his rod towards the heavens, and Jehovah hath given voices and hail, and fire goeth towards the earth, and Jehovah raineth hail on the land of Egypt, | And Moses put out his rod to heaven: and the Lord sent thunder, and an ice-storm, and fire running down on the earth; the Lord sent an ice-storm on the land of Egypt. |
Exodus 9:24 | And there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there had been none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. | and there is hail, and fire catching itself in the midst of the hail, very grievous, such as hath not been in all the land of Egypt since it hath become a nation. | So there was an ice-storm with fire running through it, coming down with great force, such as never was in all the land of Egypt from the time when it became a nation. |
Exodus 9:25 | And the hail smote throughout the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both men and cattle; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and broke every tree of the field. | And the hail smiteth in all the land of Egypt all that [is] in the field, from man even unto beast, and every herb of the field hath the hail smitten, and every tree of the field it hath broken; | And through all the land of Egypt the ice-storm came down on everything which was in the fields, on man and on beast; and every green plant was crushed and every tree of the field broken. |
Exodus 9:26 | Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail. | only in the land of Goshen, where the sons of Israel [are], there hath been no hail. | Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, there was no ice-storm. |
Exodus 9:27 | And Pharaoh sent, and called Moses and Aaron, and said to them, I have sinned this time: Jehovah is the righteous [one], but I and my people are the wicked [ones]. | And Pharaoh sendeth, and calleth for Moses and for Aaron, and saith unto them, `I have sinned this time, Jehovah [is] the Righteous, and I and my people [are] the Wicked, | Then Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, I have done evil this time: the Lord is upright, and I and my people are sinners. |
Exodus 9:28 | Intreat Jehovah that it may be enough, that there be no more thunder of God and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer! | make ye supplication unto Jehovah, and plead that there be no voices of God and hail, and I send you away, and ye add not to remain.` | Make prayer to the Lord; for there has been enough of these thunderings of God and this ice-storm; and I will let you go and will keep you no longer. |
Exodus 9:29 | And Moses said to him, When I go out of the city, I will spread out my hands to Jehovah: the thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail; that thou mayest know that the earth is Jehovah's. | And Moses saith unto him, `At my going out of the city, I spread my palms unto Jehovah the voices cease, and the hail is not any more, so that thou knowest that the earth [is] Jehovah`s; | And Moses said, When I am gone outside the town, my hands will be stretched out to the Lord; the thunders and the ice-storm will come to an end, so that you may see that the earth is the Lord's. |
Exodus 9:30 | But as to thee and thy bondmen, I know that ye do not yet fear Jehovah Elohim. | but thou and thy servants I have known that ye are not yet afraid of the face of Jehovah God.` | But as for you and your servants, I am certain that even now the fear of the Lord God will not be in your hearts. |
Exodus 9:31 | And the flax and the barley were smitten; for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled. | And the flax and the barley have been smitten, for the barley [is] budding, and the flax forming flowers, | And the flax and the barley were damaged, for the barley was almost ready to be cut and the flax was in flower. |
Exodus 9:32 | But the wheat and the spelt were not smitten; for they were not come out into ear. | and the wheat and the rye have not been smitten, for they are late. | But the rest of the grain-plants were undamaged, for they had not come up. |
Exodus 9:33 | And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread out his hands to Jehovah; and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not [any more] poured on the earth. | And Moses goeth out from Pharaoh, [from] the city, and spreadeth his hands unto Jehovah, and the voices and the hail cease, and rain hath not been poured out to the earth; | So Moses went out of the town, and stretching out his hands made prayer to God: and the thunders and the ice-storm came to an end; and the fall of rain was stopped. |
Exodus 9:34 | And Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders had ceased, and he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he, and his bondmen. | and Pharaoh seeth that the rain hath ceased, and the hail and the voices, and he continueth to sin, and hardeneth his heart, he and his servants; | But when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the ice-storm and the thunders were ended, he went on sinning, and made his heart hard, he and his servants. |
Exodus 9:35 | And the heart of Pharaoh was stubborn, neither would he let the children of Israel go, as Jehovah had spoken by Moses. | and the heart of Pharaoh is strong, and he hath not sent the sons of Israel away, as Jehovah hath spoken by the hand of Moses. | And the heart of Pharaoh was hard, and he did not let the people go, as the Lord had said by the mouth of Moses. |
