2nd-John 1:1 | The elder to [the] elect lady and her children, whom *I* love in truth, and not *I* only but also all who have known the truth, | The Elder to the choice Kyria, and to her children, whom I love in truth, and not I only, but also all those having known the truth, | The ancient to the lady Elect, and her children, whom I love in the truth, and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth, |
2nd-John 1:2 | for the truth's sake which abides in us and shall be with us to eternity. | because of the truth that is remaining in us, and with us shall be to the age, | For the sake of the truth which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever. |
2nd-John 1:3 | Grace shall be with you, mercy, peace from God [the] Father, and from [the] Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. | there shall be with you grace, kindness, peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. | Grace be with you, mercy, and peace from God the Father, and from Christ Jesus the Son of the Father; in truth and charity. |
2nd-John 1:4 | I rejoiced greatly that I have found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received commandment from the Father. | I rejoiced exceedingly that I have found of thy children walking in truth, even as a command we did receive from the Father; | I was exceeding glad, that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. |
2nd-John 1:5 | And now I beseech thee, lady, not as writing to thee a new commandment, but that which we have had from [the] beginning, that we should love one another. | and now I beseech thee, Kyria, not as writing to thee a new command, but which we had from the beginning, that we may love one another, | And now I beseech thee, lady, not as writing a new commandment to thee, but that which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another. |
2nd-John 1:6 | And this is love, that we should walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, according as ye have heard from the beginning, that ye might walk in it. | and this is the love, that we may walk according to His commands; this is the command, even as ye did hear from the beginning, that in it ye may walk, | And this is charity, that we walk according to his commandments. For this is the commandment, that, as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in the same: |
2nd-John 1:7 | For many deceivers have gone out into the world, they who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in flesh this is the deceiver and the antichrist. | because many leading astray did enter into the world, who are not confessing Jesus Christ coming in flesh; this one is he who is leading astray, and the antichrist. | For many seducers are gone out into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh: this is a seducer and an antichrist. |
2nd-John 1:8 | See to yourselves, that we may not lose what we have wrought, but may receive full wages. | See to yourselves that ye may not lose the things that we wrought, but a full reward may receive; | Look to yourselves, that you lose not the things which you have wrought: but that you may receive a full reward. |
2nd-John 1:9 | Whosoever goes forward and abides not in the doctrine of the Christ has not God. He that abides in the doctrine, *he* has both the Father and the Son. | every one who is transgressing, and is not remaining in the teaching of the Christ, hath not God; he who is remaining in the teaching of the Christ, this one hath both the Father and the Son; | Whosoever revolteth, and continueth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that continueth in the doctrine, the same hath both the Father and the Son. |
2nd-John 1:10 | If any one come to you and bring not this doctrine, do not receive him into [the] house, and greet him not; | if any one doth come unto you, and this teaching doth not bear, receive him not into the house, and say not to him, `Hail!` | If any man come to you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into the house nor say to him, God speed you. |
2nd-John 1:11 | for he who greets him partakes in his wicked works. | for he who is saying to him, `Hail,` hath fellowship with his evil works. | For he that saith unto him, God speed you, communicateth with his wicked works. |
2nd-John 1:12 | Having many things to write to you, I would not with paper and ink; but hope to come to you, and to speak mouth to mouth, that our joy may be full. | Many things having to write to you, I did not intend through paper and ink, but I hope to come unto you, and speak mouth to mouth, that our joy may be full; | Having more things to write unto you, I would not by paper and ink: for I hope that I shall be with you, and speak face to face: that your joy may be full. |
2nd-John 1:13 | The children of thine elect sister greet thee. | salute thee do the children of thy choice sister. Amen. | The children of thy sister Elect salute thee. |
