Acts 13:1Now there were in Antioch, in the assembly which was [there], prophets and teachers: Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius the Cyrenian, and Manaen, foster-brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.And there were certain in Antioch, in the assembly there, prophets and teachers; both Barnabas, and Simeon who is called Niger, and Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen also Herod the tetrarch`s foster-brother and Saul;Now there were in the church which was at Antioch, prophets and doctors, among whom was Barnabas, and Simon who was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manahen, who was the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
Acts 13:2And as they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, Separate me now Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.and in their ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, `Separate ye to me both Barnabas and Saul to the work to which I have called them,`And as they were ministering to the Lord, and fasting, the Holy Ghost said to them: Separate me Saul and Barnabas, for the work whereunto I have taken them.
Acts 13:3Then, having fasted and prayed, and having laid [their] hands on them, they let [them] go.then having fasted, and having prayed, and having laid the hands on them, they sent [them] away.Then they, fasting and praying, and imposing their hands upon them, sent them away.
Acts 13:4They therefore, having been sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia, and thence sailed away to Cyprus.These, indeed, then, having been sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia, thence also they sailed to Cyprus,So they being sent by the Holy Ghost, went to Seleucia: and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
Acts 13:5And being in Salamis, they announced the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. And they had John also as [their] attendant.and having come unto Salamis, they declared the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews, and they had also John [as] a ministrant;And when they were come to Salamina, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. And they had John also in the ministry.
Acts 13:6And having passed through the whole island as far as Paphos, they found a certain man a magician, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus,and having gone through the island unto Paphos, they found a certain magian, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name [is] Bar-Jesus;And when they had gone through the whole island, as far as Paphos, they found a certain man, a magician, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesu:
Acts 13:7who was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. *He*, having called Barnabas and Saul to [him], desired to hear the word of God.who was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man; this one having called for Barnabas and Saul, did desire to hear the word of God,Who was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, a prudent man. He sending for Barnabas and Saul, desired to hear the word of God.
Acts 13:8But Elymas the magician (for so his name is by interpretation) opposed them, seeking to turn away the proconsul from the faith.and there withstood them Elymas the magian for so is his name interpreted seeking to pervert the proconsul from the faith.But Elymas the magician (for so his name is interpreted) withstood them, seeking to turn away the proconsul from the faith.
Acts 13:9But Saul, who also [is] Paul, filled with [the] Holy Spirit, fixing his eyes upon him,And Saul who also [is] Paul having been filled with the Holy Spirit, and having looked stedfastly on him,Then Saul, otherwise Paul, filled with the Holy Ghost, looking upon him,
Acts 13:10said, O full of all deceit and all craft: son of [the] devil, enemy of all righteousness; wilt thou not cease perverting the right paths of [the] Lord?said, `O full of all guile, and all profligacy, son of a devil, enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease perverting the right ways of the Lord?Said: O full of all guile, and of all deceit, child of the devil, enemy of all justice, thou ceasest not to pervert the right ways of the Lord.
Acts 13:11And now behold, [the] Lord's hand [is] upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell upon him a mist and darkness; and going about he sought persons who should lead him by the hand.and now, lo, a hand of the Lord [is] upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season;` and presently there fell upon him a mist and darkness, and he, going about, was seeking some to lead [him] by the hand;And now behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a time. And immediately there fell a mist and darkness upon him, and going about, he sought some one to lead him by the hand.
Acts 13:12Then the proconsul, seeing what had happened, believed, being amazed at the teaching of the Lord.then the proconsul having seen what hath come to pass, did believe, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord.Then the proconsul, when he had seen what was done, believed, admiring at the doctrine of the Lord.
Acts 13:13And having sailed from Paphos, Paul and his company came to Perga of Pamphylia; and John separated from them and returned to Jerusalem.And those about Paul having set sail from Paphos, came to Perga of Pamphylia, and John having departed from them, did turn back to Jerusalem,Now when Paul and they that were with him had sailed from Paphos, they came to Perge in Pamphylia. And John departing from them, returned to Jerusalem.
Acts 13:14But they, passing through from Perga, came to Antioch of Pisidia; and entering into the synagogue on the sabbath day they sat down.and they having gone through from Perga, came to Antioch of Pisidia, and having gone into the synagogue on the sabbath-day, they sat down,But they passing through Perge, came to Antioch in Pisidia: and entering into the synagogue on the sabbath day, they sat down.
Acts 13:15And after the reading of the law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, Brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation to the people, speak.and after the reading of the law and of the prophets, the chief men of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, `Men, brethren, if there be a word in you of exhortation unto the people say on.`And after the reading of the law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying: Ye men, brethren, if you have any word of exhortation to make to the people, speak.
Acts 13:16And Paul, rising up and making a sign with the hand, said, Israelites, and ye that fear God, hearken.And Paul having risen, and having beckoned with the hand, said, `Men, Israelites, and those fearing God, hearken:Then Paul rising up, and with his hand bespeaking silence, said: Ye men of Israel, and you that fear God, give ear.
Acts 13:17The God of this people Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people in their sojourn in [the] land of Egypt, and with a high arm brought them out of it,the God of this people Israel did choose our fathers, and the people He did exalt in their sojourning in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm did He bring them out of it;The God of the people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they were sojourners in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought them out from thence,
Acts 13:18and for a time of about forty years he nursed them in the desert.and about a period of forty years He did suffer their manners in the wilderness,And for the space of forty years endured their manners in the desert.
Acts 13:19And having destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance.and having destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, He did divide by lot to them their land.And destroying seven nations in the land of Chanaan, divided their land among them, by lot,
Acts 13:20And after these things he gave [them] judges till Samuel the prophet, [to the end of] about four hundred and fifty years.`And after these things, about four hundred and fifty years, He gave judges till Samuel the prophet;As it were, after four hundred and fifty years: and after these things, he gave unto them judges, until Samuel the prophet.
Acts 13:21And then they asked for a king, and God gave to them Saul, son of Kis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, during forty years.and thereafter they asked for a king, and God did give to them Saul, son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years;And after that they desired a king: and God gave them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, forty years.
Acts 13:22And having removed him he raised up to them David for king, of whom also bearing witness he said, I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after my heart, who shall do all my will.and having removed him, He did raise up to them David for king, to whom also having testified, he said, I found David, the [son] of Jesse, a man according to My heart, who shall do all My will.And when he had removed him, he raised them up David to be king: to whom giving testimony, he said: I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man according to my own heart, who shall do all my wills.
Acts 13:23Of this man's seed according to promise has God brought to Israel a Saviour, Jesus;`Of this one`s seed God, according to promise, did raise to Israel a Saviour Jesus,Of this man's seed God according to his promise, hath raised up to Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
Acts 13:24John having proclaimed before the face of his entry [among the people] [the] baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.John having first preached, before his coming, a baptism of reformation to all the people of Israel;John first preaching, before his coming, the baptism of penance to all the people of Israel.
Acts 13:25And as John was fulfilling his course he said, Whom do ye suppose that I am? *I* am not [he]. But behold, there comes one after me, the sandal of whose feet I am not worthy to loose.and as John was fulfilling the course, he said, Whom me do ye suppose to be? I am not [he], but, lo, he doth come after me, of whom I am not worthy to loose the sandal of [his] feet.And when John was fulfilling his course, he said: I am not he, whom you think me to be: but behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.
Acts 13:26Brethren, sons of Abraham's race, and those who among you fear God, to you has the word of this salvation been sent:`Men, brethren, sons of the race of Abraham, and those among you fearing God, to you was the word of this salvation sent,Men, brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you fear God, to you the word of this salvation is sent.
Acts 13:27for those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, not having known him, have fulfilled also the voices of the prophets which are read on every sabbath, [by] judging [him].for those dwelling in Jerusalem, and their chiefs, this one not having known, also the voices of the prophets, which every sabbath are being read having judged [him] did fulfill,For they that inhabited Jerusalem, and the rulers thereof, not knowing him, nor the voices of the prophets, which are read every sabbath, judging him have fulfilled them.
Acts 13:28And having found no cause of death [in him], they begged of Pilate that he might be slain.and no cause of death having found, they did ask of Pilate that he should be slain,And finding no cause of death in him, they desired of Pilate, that they might kill him.
Acts 13:29And when they had fulfilled all things written concerning him, they took him down from the cross and put him in a sepulchre;and when they did complete all the things written about him, having taken [him] down from the tree, they laid him in a tomb;And when they had fulfilled all things that were written of him, taking him down from the tree, they laid him in a sepulchre.
Acts 13:30but God raised him from among [the] dead,and God did raise him out of the dead,But God raised him up from the dead the third day:
Acts 13:31who appeared for many days to those who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses to the people.and he was seen for many days of those who did come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.Who was seen for many days, by them who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who to this present are his witnesses to the people.
Acts 13:32And *we* declare unto you the glad tidings of the promise made to the fathers,`And we to you do proclaim good news that the promise made unto the fathers,And we declare unto you, that the promise which was made to our fathers,
Acts 13:33that God has fulfilled this to us their children, having raised up Jesus; as it is also written in the second psalm, *Thou* art my Son: this day have *I* begotten thee.God hath in full completed this to us their children, having raised up Jesus, as also in the second Psalm it hath been written, My Son thou art I to-day have begotten thee.This same God hath fulfilled to our children, raising up Jesus, as in the second psalm also is written: Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
Acts 13:34But that he raised him from among [the] dead, no more to return to corruption, he spoke thus: I will give to you the faithful mercies of David.`And that He did raise him up out of the dead, no more to return to corruption, he hath said thus I will give to you the faithful kindnesses of David;And to shew that he raised him up from the dead, not to return now any more to corruption, he said thus: I will give you the holy things of David faithful.
Acts 13:35Wherefore also he says in another, Thou wilt not suffer thy gracious one to see corruption.wherefore also in another [place] he saith, Thou shalt not give Thy kind One to see corruption,And therefore, in another place also, he saith: Thou shalt not suffer thy holy one to see corruption.
Acts 13:36For David indeed, having in his own generation ministered to the will of God, fell asleep, and was added to his fathers and saw corruption.for David, indeed, his own generation having served by the will of God, did fall asleep, and was added unto his fathers, and saw corruption,For David, when he had served in his generation, according to the will of God, slept: and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption.
Acts 13:37But he whom God raised up did not see corruption.but he whom God did raise up, did not see corruption.But he whom God hath raised from the dead, saw no corruption.
Acts 13:38Be it known unto you, therefore, brethren, that through this man remission of sins is preached to you,`Let it therefore be known to you, men, brethren, that through this one to you is the forgiveness of sins declared,Be it known therefore to you, men, brethren, that through him forgiveness of sins is preached to you: and from all the things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.
Acts 13:39and from all things from which ye could not be justified in the law of Moses, in him every one that believes is justified.and from all things from which ye were not able in the law of Moses to be declared righteous, in this one every one who is believing is declared righteous;In him every one that believeth, is justified.
Acts 13:40See therefore that that which is spoken in the prophets do not come upon [you],see, therefore, it may not come upon you that hath been spoken in the prophets:Beware, therefore, lest that come upon you which is spoken in the prophets:
Acts 13:41Behold, ye despisers, and wonder and perish; for *I* work a work in your days, a work which ye will in no wise believe if one declare it to you.See, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish, because a work I I do work in your days, a work in which ye may not believe, though any one may declare [it] to you.`Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which you will not believe, if any man shall tell it you.
Acts 13:42And as they went out they begged that these words might be spoken to them the ensuing sabbath.And having gone forth out of the synagogue of the Jews, the nations were calling upon [them] that on the next sabbath these sayings may be spoken to them,And as they went out, they desired them, that on the next sabbath, they would speak unto them these words.
Acts 13:43And the congregation of the synagogue having broken up, many of the Jews and of the worshipping proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.and the synagogue having been dismissed, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes did follow Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, were persuading them to remain in the grace of God.And when the synagogue was broken up, many of the Jews, and of the strangers who served God, followed Paul and Barnabas: who speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
Acts 13:44And on the coming sabbath almost all the city was gathered together to hear the word of God.And on the coming sabbath, almost all the city was gathered together to hear the word of God,But the next sabbath day, the whole city almost came together, to hear the word of God.
Acts 13:45But the Jews, seeing the crowds, were filled with envy, and contradicted the things said by Paul, [contradicting and] speaking injuriously.and the Jews having seen the multitudes, were filled with zeal, and did contradict the things spoken by Paul contradicting and speaking evil.And the Jews seeing the multitudes, were filled with envy, and contradicted those things which were said by Paul, blaspheming.
Acts 13:46And Paul and Barnabas spoke boldly and said, It was necessary that the word of God should be first spoken to you; but, since ye thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, lo, we turn to the nations;And speaking boldly, Paul and Barnabas said, `To you it was necessary that first the word of God be spoken, and seeing ye do thrust it away, and do not judge yourselves worthy of the life age-during, lo, we do turn to the nations;Then Paul and Barnabas said boldly: To you it behoved us first to speak the word of God: but because you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold we turn to the Gentiles.
Acts 13:47for thus has the Lord enjoined us: I have set thee for a light of the nations, that thou shouldest be for salvation to the end of the earth.for so hath the Lord commanded us: I have set thee for a light of nations for thy being for salvation unto the end of the earth.`For so the Lord hath commanded us: I have set thee to be the light of the Gentiles; that thou mayest be for salvation unto the utmost part of the earth.
Acts 13:48And [those of] the nations, hearing it, rejoiced, and glorified the word of the Lord, and believed, as many as were ordained to eternal life.And the nations hearing were glad, and were glorifying the word of the Lord, and did believe as many as were appointed to life age-during;And the Gentiles hearing it, were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to life everlasting, believed.
Acts 13:49And the word of the Lord was carried through the whole country.and the word of the Lord was spread abroad through all the region.And the word of the Lord was published throughout the whole country.
Acts 13:50But the Jews excited the women of the upper classes who were worshippers, and the first people of the city, and raised a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them out of their coasts.And the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the first men of the city, and did raise persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and did put them out from their borders;But the Jews stirred up religious and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas: and cast them out of their coasts.
Acts 13:51But they, having shaken off the dust of their feet against them, came to Iconium.and they having shaken off the dust of their feet against them, came to Iconium,But they, shaking off the dust of their feet against them, came to Iconium.
Acts 13:52And the disciples were filled with joy and [the] Holy Spirit.and the disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Ghost.
