Luke 7:6And Jesus went with them. But already, when he was not far from the house, the centurion sent to him friends, saying to him, Lord, do not trouble thyself, for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof.And Jesus was going on with them, and now when he is not far distant from the house the centurion sent unto him friends, saying to him, `Sir, be not troubled, for I am not worthy that under my roof thou mayest enter;Then Jesus went with them. But when He was not far from the house, the Captain sent friends to Him with the message: "Sir, do not trouble to come. I am not worthy of having you come under my roof;
Luke 7:7Wherefore neither did I count myself worthy to come to thee. But say by a word and my servant shall be healed.wherefore not even myself thought I worthy to come unto thee, but say in a word, and my lad shall be healed;and therefore I did not deem myself worthy to come to you. Only speak the word, and let my young man be cured.
Luke 7:8For *I* also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers, and I say to this [one], Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my bondman, Do this, and he does [it].for I also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers, and I say to this [one], Go, and he goeth; and to another, Be coming, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doth [it].`For I too am a man obedient to authority, and have soldiers under me; and I say to one, `Go,' and he goes; to another, `Come,' and he comes; and to my slave, `Do this or that,' and he does it."
Luke 7:9And Jesus hearing this wondered at him, and turning to the crowd following him said, I say to you, Not even in Israel have I found so great faith. And having heard these things Jesus wondered at him, and having turned to the multitude following him, he said, `I say to you, not even in Israel so much faith did I find;`Jesus listened to the Captain's message and was astonished at him, and He turned and said to the crowd that followed Him, "I tell you that not even in Israel have I found faith like that."
Luke 7:10And they who had been sent returning to the house found the bondman, who was ill, in good health.and those sent, having turned back to the house, found the ailing servant in health. And the friends who had been sent, on returning to the house, found the servant in perfect health.

Luke 7:13And the Lord, seeing her, was moved with compassion for her, and said to her, Weep not;And the Lord having seen her, was moved with compassion towards her, and said to her, `Be not weeping;`The Lord saw her, was moved with pity for her, and said to her, "Do not weep."
Luke 7:14and coming up he touched the bier, and the bearers stopped. And he said, Youth, I say to thee, Wake up.and having come near, he touched the bier, and those bearing [it] stood still, and he said, `Young man, to thee I say, Arise;`Then He went close and touched the bier, and the bearers halted. "Young man," He said, "I command you, wake!"
Luke 7:15And the dead sat up and began to speak; and he gave him to his mother.and the dead sat up, and began to speak, and he gave him to his mother; The dead man sat up and began to speak; and He restored him to his mother.
Luke 7:16And fear seized on all, and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet has been raised up amongst us; and God has visited his people.and fear took hold of all, and they were glorifying God, saying `A great prophet hath risen among us,` and `God did look upon His people.`All were awe-struck, and they gave glory to God some saying, "A Prophet, a great Prophet, has risen up among us." Others said, "God has not forgotten His People."
Luke 7:17And this report went out in all Judaea concerning him, and in all the surrounding country. And the account of this went forth in all Judea about him, and in all the region around. And the report of what Jesus had done spread through the whole of Judaea and in all the surrounding districts.

Blind men receive sight, the lame walk, lepers are purified, deaf persons hear, the dead are raised to life, the poor have the Good News proclaimed to them.

A reed waving in the wind?

Behold, those who are in splendid clothing and live luxuriously are in the courts of kings.but what have ye gone forth to see? a man in soft garments clothed? lo, they in splendid apparellings, and living in luxury, are in the houses of kings! But what did you go out to see? A man wearing luxurious clothes? People who are gorgeously dressed and live in luxury are found in palaces.
Luke 7:26But what went ye out to see? a prophet? Yea, I say to you, and [what is] more excellent than a prophet.`But what have ye gone forth to see? a prophet? Yes, I say to you, and much more than a prophet:But what did you go out to see? A Prophet? Aye, I tell you, and far more than a Prophet.
Luke 7:27This is he concerning whom it is written, Behold, *I* send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee;this is he concerning whom it hath been written, Lo, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee;John is the man about whom it is written, `See, I am sending My messenger before thy face, and he shall make ready thy way before thee.'
Luke 7:28for I say unto you, Among them that are born of women a greater [prophet] is no one than John [the baptist]; but he who is a little one in the kingdom of God is greater than he.for I say to you, a greater prophet, among those born of women, than John the Baptist there is not; but the least in the reign of God is greater than he.`"I tell you that among all of women born there is not one greater than John. Yet one who is of lower rank in the Kingdom of God is greater than he.
Luke 7:29(And all the people who heard [it], and the tax-gatherers, justified God, having been baptised with the baptism of John; And all the people having heard, and the tax-gatherers, declared God righteous, having been baptized with the baptism of John,And all the people, including the tax-gatherers, when they listened to him upheld the righteousness of God, by being baptized with John's baptism.
Luke 7:30but the Pharisees and the lawyers rendered null as to themselves the counsel of God, not having been baptised by him.)but the Pharisees, and the lawyers, the counsel of God did put away for themselves, not having been baptized by him.But the Pharisees and expounders of the Law have frustrated God's purpose as to their own lives, by refusing to be baptized.
Luke 7:31To whom therefore shall I liken the men of this generation, and to whom are they like? And the Lord said, `To what, then, shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?"To what then shall I compare the men of the present generation, and what do they resemble?
Luke 7:32They are like children sitting in the market-place, and calling one to another and saying, We have piped to you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.they are like to children, to those sitting in a market-place, and calling one to another, and saying, We piped to you, and ye did not dance, we mourned to you, and ye did not weep! They are like children sitting in the public square and calling out to one another, `We have played the flute to you, and you have not danced: we have sung dirges, and you have not shown sorrow.'
Luke 7:33For John the baptist has come neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and ye say, He has a demon.`For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and ye say, He hath a demon; For John the Baptist has come eating no bread and drinking no wine, and you say, `He has a demon!'
Luke 7:34The Son of man has come eating and drinking, and ye say, Behold an eater and wine-drinker, a friend of tax-gatherers and sinners;the Son of Man came eating and drinking, and ye say, Lo, a man, a glutton, and a wine drinker, a friend of tax-gatherers and sinners; The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, `Look, there is a man who is overfond of eating and drinking he is a friend of tax-gatherers and notorious sinners!'
Luke 7:35and wisdom has been justified of all her children.and the wisdom was justified from all her children.`But wisdom is justified by all who are truly wise."
Luke 7:36But one of the Pharisees begged him that he would eat with him. And entering into the house of the Pharisee he took his place at table; And a certain one of the Pharisees was asking him that he might eat with him, and having gone into the house of the Pharisee he reclined (at meat),Now one of the Pharisees repeatedly invited Him to a meal at his house; so He entered the house and reclined at the table.
Luke 7:37and behold, a woman in the city, who was a sinner, and knew that he was sitting at meat in the house of the Pharisee, having taken an alabaster box of myrrh, and lo, a woman in the city, who was a sinner, having known that he reclineth (at meat) in the house of the Pharisee, having provided an alabaster box of ointment,And there was a woman in the town who was a notorious sinner. Having learnt that Jesus was at table in the Pharisee's house she brought a flask of perfume,
Luke 7:38and standing at his feet behind [him] weeping, began to wash his feet with tears; and she wiped them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed [them] with the myrrh.and having stood behind, beside his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with the tears, and with the hairs of her head she was wiping, and was kissing his feet, and was anointing with the ointment.and, standing behind close to His feet, weeping, began to wet His feet with her tears; and with her hair she wiped the tears away again, while she lovingly kissed His feet and poured the perfume over them.
Luke 7:39And the Pharisee who had invited him, seeing it, spoke with himself saying, This [person] if he were a prophet would have known who and what the woman is who touches him, for she is a sinner. And the Pharisee who did call him, having seen, spake within himself, saying, `This one, if he were a prophet, would have known who and of what kind [is] the woman who doth touch him, that she is a sinner.`Noticing this, the Pharisee, His host, said to himself, "This man, if he were really a Prophet, would know who and what sort of person this woman is who is touching him and would know that she is an immoral woman."
Luke 7:40And Jesus answering said to him, Simon, I have somewhat to say to thee. And he says, Teacher, say [it].And Jesus answering said unto him, `Simon, I have something to say to thee;` and he saith, `Teacher, say on.`In answer to his thoughts Jesus said to him, "Simon, I have a word to say to you." "Rabbi, say on," he replied.
Luke 7:41There were two debtors of a certain creditor: one owed five hundred denarii and the other fifty;`Two debtors were to a certain creditor; the one was owing five hundred denaries, and the other fifty;"There were once two men in debt to one money-lender," said Jesus; "one owed him five hundred shillings and the other fifty.
Luke 7:42but as they had nothing to pay, he forgave both of them [their debt]: [say,] which of them therefore will love him most?and they not having [wherewith] to give back, he forgave both; which then of them, say thou, will love him more?`But neither of them could pay anything; so he freely forgave them both. Tell me, then, which of them will love him most?"
Luke 7:43And Simon answering said, I suppose he to whom he forgave the most. And he said to him, Thou hast rightly judged. And Simon answering said, `I suppose that to whom he forgave the more;` and he said to him, `Rightly thou didst judge.`"I suppose," replied Simon, "the one to whom he forgave most." "You have judged rightly," Jesus rejoined.
Luke 7:44And turning to the woman he said to Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thy house; thou gavest me not water on my feet, but *she* has washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with her hair. And having turned unto the woman, he said to Simon, `Seest thou this woman? I entered into thy house; water for my feet thou didst not give, but this woman with tears did wet my feet, and with the hairs of her head did wipe; Then turning towards the woman He said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I came into your house: you gave me no water for my feet; but she has made my feet wet with her tears, and then wiped the tears away with her hair.
Luke 7:45Thou gavest me not a kiss, but *she* from the time I came in has not ceased kissing my feet.a kiss to me thou didst not give, but this woman, from what [time] I came in, did not cease kissing my feet;No kiss did you give me; but she from the moment I came in has not left off tenderly kissing my feet.
Luke 7:46My head with oil thou didst not anoint, but *she* has anointed my feet with myrrh.with oil my head thou didst not anoint, but this woman with ointment did anoint my feet;No oil did you pour even on my head; but she has poured perfume upon my feet.
Luke 7:47For which cause I say to thee, Her many sins are forgiven; for she loved much; but he to whom little is forgiven loves little.therefore I say to thee, her many sins have been forgiven, because she did love much; but to whom little is forgiven, little he doth love.`This is the reason why I tell you that her sins, her many sins, are forgiven because she has loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little."
Luke 7:48And he said to her, Thy sins are forgiven. And he said to her, `Thy sins have been forgiven;`And He said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."
Luke 7:49And they that were with [them] at table began to say within themselves, Who is this who forgives also sins?and those reclining with him (at meat) began to say within themselves, `Who is this, who also doth forgive sins?`Then the other guests began to say to themselves, "Who can this man be who even forgives sins?"
Luke 7:50And he said to the woman, Thy faith has saved thee; go in peace.and he said unto the woman, `Thy faith have saved thee, be going on to peace.`But He said to the woman, "Your faith has cured you: go, and be at peace."
