| Matthew 25:1 | Then shall the kingdom of the heavens be made like to ten virgins that having taken their torches, went forth to meet the bridegroom. | `Then shall the reign of the heavens be likened to ten virgins, who, having taken their lamps, went forth to meet the bridegroom; | "Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. |
| Matthew 25:2 | And five of them were prudent and five foolish. | and five of them were prudent, and five foolish; | Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. |
| Matthew 25:3 | They that were foolish took their torches and did not take oil with them; | they who were foolish having taken their lamps, did not take with themselves oil; | Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them, |
| Matthew 25:4 | but the prudent took oil in their vessels with their torches. | and the prudent took oil in their vessels, with their lamps. | but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. |
| Matthew 25:5 | Now the bridegroom tarrying, they all grew heavy and slept. | `And the bridegroom tarrying, they all nodded and were sleeping, | Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept. |
| Matthew 25:6 | But in [the] middle of [the] night there was a cry, Behold, the bridegroom; go forth to meet him. | and in the middle of the night a cry was made, Lo, the bridegroom doth come; go ye forth to meet him. | But at midnight there was a cry, 'Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!' |
| Matthew 25:7 | Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their torches. | `Then rose all those virgins, and trimmed their lamps, | Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. |
| Matthew 25:8 | And the foolish said to the prudent, Give us of your oil, for our torches are going out. | and the foolish said to the prudent, Give us of your oil, because our lamps are going out; | The foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' |
| Matthew 25:9 | But the prudent answered saying, [We cannot,] lest it might not suffice for us and for you. Go rather to those that sell, and buy for yourselves. | and the prudent answered, saying Lest there may not be sufficient for us and you, go ye rather unto those selling, and buy for yourselves. | But the wise answered, saying, 'What if there will not be enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' |
| Matthew 25:10 | But as they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and the [ones that were] ready went in with him to the wedding feast, and the door was shut. | `And while they are going away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those ready went in with him to the marriage-feasts, and the door was shut; | While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. |
| Matthew 25:11 | Afterwards come also the rest of the virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us; | and afterwards come also do the rest of the virgins, saying, Sir, sir, open to us; | Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us.' |
| Matthew 25:12 | but he answering said, Verily I say unto you, I do not know you. | and he answering said, Verily I say to you, I have not known you. | But he answered, 'Most assuredly I tell you, I don't know you.' |
| Matthew 25:13 | Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour. | `Watch therefore, for ye have not known the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man doth come. | Watch therefore, for you don't know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. |
| Matthew 25:14 | For [it is] as [if] a man going away out of a country called his own bondmen and delivered to them his substance. | `For as a man going abroad did call his own servants, and did deliver to them his substance, | "For it is like a man, going into another country, who called his own servants, and delivered his goods to them. |
| Matthew 25:15 | And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to each according to his particular ability, and immediately went away out of the country. | and to one he gave five talents, and to another two, and to another one, to each according to his several ability, went abroad immediately. | To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his own ability, and he went on his journey. |

| Matthew 25:19 | And after a long time the lord of those bondmen comes and reckons with them. | `And after a long time cometh the lord of those servants, and taketh reckoning with them; | Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and reconciled accounts with them. |
| Matthew 25:20 | And he that had received the five talents came to [him] and brought five other talents, saying, [My] lord, thou deliveredst me five talents; behold, I have gained five other talents besides them. | and he who did receive the five talents having come, brought other five talents, saying, `Sir, five talents thou didst deliver to me; lo, other five talents did I gain besides them. | He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents besides them.' |
| Matthew 25:21 | His lord said to him, Well, good and faithful bondman, thou wast faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter into the joy of thy lord. | `And his lord said to him, Well done, servant, good and faithful, over a few things thou wast faithful, over many things I will set thee; enter into the joy of thy lord. | His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' |

| Matthew 25:24 | And he also that had received the one talent coming to [him] said, [My] lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou hadst not sowed, and gathering from where thou hadst not scattered, | `And he also who hath received the one talent having come, said, Sir, I knew thee, that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou didst not sow, and gathering from whence thou didst not scatter; | He also who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter. |
| Matthew 25:25 | and being afraid I went away and hid thy talent in the earth; behold, thou hast that which is thine. | and having been afraid, having gone away, I hid thy talent in the earth; lo, thou hast thine own! | I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have your own.' |
| Matthew 25:26 | And his lord answering said to him, Wicked and slothful bondman, thou knewest that I reap where I had not sowed, and gather from where I had not scattered; | `And his lord answering said to him, Evil servant, and slothful, thou hadst known that I reap where I did not sow, and I gather whence I did not scatter! | But his lord answered him, 'You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I didn't sow, and gather where I didn't scatter. |
| Matthew 25:27 | thou oughtest then to have put my money to the money-changers, and when I came I should have got what is mine with interest. | it behoved thee then to put my money to the money-lenders, and having come I had received mine own with increase. | You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest. |
| Matthew 25:28 | Take therefore the talent from him, and give it to him that has the ten talents: | `Take therefore from him the talent, and give to him having the ten talents, | Take away therefore the talent from him, and give it to him who has the ten talents. |
| Matthew 25:29 | for to every one that has shall be given, and he shall be in abundance; but from him that has not, that even which he has shall be taken from him. | for to every one having shall be given, and he shall have overabundance, and from him who is not having, even that which he hath shall be taken from him; | For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who has not, even that which he has will be taken away. |
| Matthew 25:30 | And cast out the useless bondman into the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth. | and the unprofitable servant cast ye forth to the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth. | Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness; there will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.' |

| Matthew 25:38 | and when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in; or naked, and clothed thee? | and when did we see thee a stranger, and we received? or naked, and we put around? | When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? |
| Matthew 25:39 | and when saw we thee ill, or in prison, and came to thee? | and when did we see thee infirm, or in prison, and we came unto thee? | When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?' |
| Matthew 25:40 | And the King answering shall say to them, Verily, I say to you, Inasmuch as ye have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it to me. | `And the king answering, shall say to them, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye did [it] to one of these my brethren the least to me ye did [it]. | The King will answer them, 'Most assuredly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.' |
