Acts 10:1And there was a certain man in Caesarea, named Cornelius, a centurion of that which is called the Italian band;Now [there was] a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of the band called the Italian [band], But a certain man in Caesarea, by name Cornelius, a centurion of the band called Italic,
Acts 10:2A religious man, and fearing God with all his house, giving much alms to the people, and always praying to God.a devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, who gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always. pious, and fearing God with all his house, [both] giving much alms to the people, and supplicating God continually,
Acts 10:3This man saw in a vision manifestly, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in unto him, and saying to him: Cornelius.He saw in a vision openly, as it were about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in unto him, and saying to him, Cornelius. saw plainly in a vision, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming unto him, and saying to him, Cornelius.
Acts 10:4And he, beholding him, being seized with fear, said: What is it, Lord? And he said to him: Thy prayers and thy alms are ascended for a memorial in the sight of God.And he, fastening his eyes upon him, and being affrighted, said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are gone up for a memorial before God. But he, having fixed his eyes upon him, and become full of fear, said, What is it, Lord? And he said to him, Thy prayers and thine alms have gone up for a memorial before God.
Acts 10:5And now send men to Joppe, and call hither one Simon, who is surnamed Peter:And now send men to Joppa, and fetch one Simon, who is surnamed Peter: And now send men to Joppa and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter.
Acts 10:6He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side. He will tell thee what thou must do.he lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side. He lodges with a certain Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea.
Acts 10:7And when the angel who spoke to him was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a soldier who feared the Lord, of them that were under him.And when the angel that spake unto him was departed, he called two of his household-servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually; And when the angel who was speaking to him had departed, having called two of his household and a pious soldier of those who were constantly with him,
Acts 10:8To whom when he had related all, he sent them to Joppe.and having rehearsed all things unto them, he sent them to Joppa. and related all things to them, he sent them to Joppa.
Acts 10:9And on the next day, whilst they were going on their journey, and drawing nigh to the city, Peter went up to the higher parts of the house to pray, about the sixth hour.Now on the morrow, as they were on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour: And on the morrow, as these were journeying and drawing near to the city, Peter went up on the house to pray, about the sixth hour.
Acts 10:10And being hungry, he was desirous to taste somewhat. And as they were preparing, there came upon him an ecstasy of mind.and he became hungry, and desired to eat: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance; And he became hungry and desired to eat. But as they were making ready an ecstasy came upon him:
Acts 10:11And he saw the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as it were a great linen sheet let down by the four corners from heaven to the earth:and he beholdeth the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as it were a great sheet, let down by four corners upon the earth: and he beholds the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as a great sheet, [bound] by [the] four corners [and] let down to the earth;
Acts 10:12Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts, and creeping things of the earth, and fowls of the air.wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts and creeping things of the earth and birds of the heaven. in which were all the quadrupeds and creeping things of the earth, and the fowls of the heaven.
Acts 10:13And there came a voice to him: Arise, Peter; kill and eat.And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill and eat. And there was a voice to him, Rise, Peter, slay and eat.
Acts 10:14But Peter said: Far be it from me; for I never did eat any thing that is common and unclean.But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common and unclean. And Peter said, In no wise, Lord; for I have never eaten anything common or unclean.
Acts 10:15And the voice spoke to him again the second time: That which God hath cleansed, do not thou call common.And a voice [came] unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, make not thou common. And [there was] a voice again the second time to him, What God has cleansed, do not *thou* make common.
Acts 10:16And this was done thrice; and presently the vessel was taken up into heaven.And this was done thrice: and straightway the vessel was received up into heaven. And this took place thrice, and the vessel was straightway taken up into heaven.
Acts 10:17Now, whilst Peter was doubting within himself, what the vision that he had seen should mean, behold the men who were sent from Cornelius, inquiring for Simon's house, stood at the gate.Now while Peter was much perplexed in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men that were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood before the gate, And as Peter doubted in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold also the men who were sent by Cornelius, having sought out the house of Simon, stood at the gate,
Acts 10:18And when they had called, they asked, if Simon, who is surnamed Peter, were lodged there.and called and asked whether Simon, who was surnamed Peter, were lodging there. and having called [some one], they inquired if Simon who was surnamed Peter was lodged there.
Acts 10:19And as Peter was thinking of the vision, the Spirit said to him: Behold three men seek thee.And while Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee. But as Peter continued pondering over the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, three men seek thee;
Acts 10:20Arise, therefore, get thee down and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.But arise, and get thee down, and go with them, nothing doubting: for I have sent them. but rise up, go down, and go with them, nothing doubting, because *I* have sent them.
Acts 10:21Then Peter, going down to the men, said: Behold, I am he whom you seek; what is the cause for which you are come?And Peter went down to the men, and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come? And Peter going down to the men said, Behold, *I* am he whom ye seek: what is the cause for which ye come?
Acts 10:22Who said: Cornelius, a centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and having good testimony from all the nation of the Jews, received an answer of an holy angel, to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.And they said, Cornelius a centurion, a righteous man and one that feareth God, and well reported of by all the nation of the Jews, was warned [of God] by a holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words from thee. And they said, Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man, and fearing God, and borne witness to by the whole nation of the Jews, has been divinely instructed by a holy angel to send for thee to his house, and hear words from thee.
Acts 10:23Then bringing them in, he lodged them. And the day following he arose, and went with them: and some of the brethren from Joppe accompanied him.So he called them in and lodged them. And on the morrow he arose and went forth with them, and certain of the brethren from Joppa accompanied him. Having therefore invited them in, he lodged them. And on the morrow, rising up he went away with them, and certain of the brethren from Joppa went with him.
Acts 10:24And the morrow after, he entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, having called together his kinsmen and special friends.And on the morrow they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his kinsmen and his near friends. And on the morrow they came to Caesarea. But Cornelius was looking for them, having called together his kinsmen and [his] intimate friends.
Acts 10:25And it came to pass, that when Peter was come in, Cornelius came to meet him, Cornelius came to meet him, and falling at his feet adored.And when it came to pass that Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. And when Peter was now coming in, Cornelius met him, and falling down did [him] homage.
Acts 10:26But Peter lifted him up, saying: Arise, I myself also am a man.But Peter raised him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. But Peter made him rise, saying, Rise up: *I* myself also am a man.
Acts 10:27And talking with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.And as he talked with him, he went in, and findeth many come together: And he went in, talking with him, and found many gathered together.
Acts 10:28And he said to them: You know how abominable it is for a man that is a Jew, to keep company or to come unto one of another nation: but God hath shewed to me, to call no man common or unclean.and he said unto them, Ye yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to join himself or come unto one of another nation; and [yet] unto me hath God showed that I should not call any man common or unclean: And he said to them, *Ye* know how it is unlawful for a Jew to be joined or come to one of a strange race, and to *me* God has shewn to call no man common or unclean.
Acts 10:29For which cause, making no doubt, I came when I was sent for. I ask, therefore, for what cause you have sent for me?wherefore also I came without gainsaying, when I was sent for. I ask therefore with what intent ye sent for me. Wherefore also, having been sent for, I came without saying anything against it. I inquire therefore for what reason ye have sent for me.
Acts 10:30And Cornelius said: Four days ago, unto this hour, I was praying in my house, at the ninth hour, and behold a man stood before me in white apparel, and said:And Cornelius said, Four days ago, until this hour, I was keeping the ninth hour of prayer in my house; and behold, a man stood before me in bright apparel, And Cornelius said, Four days ago I had been [fasting] unto this hour, and the ninth [I was] praying in my house, and lo, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
Acts 10:31Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thy alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.and saith, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God. and said, Cornelius, thy prayer has been heard, and thy alms have come in remembrance before God.
Acts 10:32Send therefore to Joppe, and call hither Simon, who is surnamed Peter: he lodgeth in the house of Simon a tanner, by the sea side.Send therefore to Joppa, and call unto thee Simon, who is surnamed Peter; he lodgeth in the house of Simon a tanner, by the sea side. Send therefore to Joppa and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter; he lodges in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea [who when he is come will speak to thee].
Acts 10:33Immediately therefore I sent to thee: and thou hast done well in coming. Now therefore all we are present in thy sight, to hear all things whatsoever are commanded thee by the Lord.Forthwith therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God, to hear all things that have been commanded thee of the Lord. Immediately therefore I sent to thee, and *thou* hast well done in coming. Now therefore *we* are all present before God to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.
Acts 10:34And Peter opening his mouth, said: In very deed I perceive, that God is not a respecter of persons.And Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: And Peter opening his mouth said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons,
Acts 10:35But in every nation, he that feareth him, and worketh justice, is acceptable to him.but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is acceptable to him. but in every nation he that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.
Acts 10:36God sent the word to the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all.)The word which he sent unto the children of Israel, preaching good tidings of peace by Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all.) -- The word which he sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ, (*he* is Lord of all things,)
Acts 10:37You know the word which hath been published through all Judea: for it began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached,that saying ye yourselves know, which was published throughout all Judaea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; *ye* know; the testimony which has spread through the whole of Judaea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism which John preached
Acts 10:38Jesus of Nazareth: how God anointed him with the Holy Ghost, and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.[even] Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Jesus who [was] of Nazareth: how God anointed him with [the] Holy Spirit and with power; who went through [all quarters] doing good, and healing all that were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
Acts 10:39And we are witnesses of all things that he did in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed, hanging him upon a tree.And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the country of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom also they slew, hanging him on a tree. *We* also [are] witnesses of all things which he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they also slew, having hanged him on a cross.
Acts 10:40Him God raised up the third day, and gave him to be made manifest,Him God raised up the third day, and gave him to be made manifest, This [man] God raised up the third day and gave him to be openly seen,
Acts 10:41Not to all the people, but to witnesses preordained by God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he arose again from the dead;not to all the people, but unto witnesses that were chosen before of God, [even] to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. not of all the people, but of witnesses who were chosen before of God, *us* who have eaten and drunk with him after he arose from among [the] dead.
Acts 10:42And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is he who was appointed by God, to be judge of the living and of the dead.And he charged us to preach unto the people, and to testify that this is he who is ordained of God [to be] the Judge of the living and the dead. And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that *he* it is who was determinately appointed of God [to be] judge of living and dead.
Acts 10:43To him all the prophets give testimony, that by his name all receive remission of sins, who believe in him.To him bear all the prophets witness, that through his name every one that believeth on him shall receive remission of sins. To him all the prophets bear witness that every one that believes on him will receive through his name remission of sins.
Acts 10:44While Peter was yet speaking these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them that heard the word.While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all them that heard the word. While Peter was yet speaking these words the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were hearing the word.
Acts 10:45And the faithful of the circumcision, who came with Peter, were astonished, for that the grace of the Holy Ghost was poured out upon the Gentiles also.And they of the circumcision that believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit. And the faithful of the circumcision were astonished, as many as came with Peter, that upon the nations also the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out:
Acts 10:46For they heard them speaking with tongues, and magnifying God.For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, for they heard them speaking with tongues and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,
Acts 10:47Then Peter answered: Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Ghost, as well as we?Can any man forbid the water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we? Can any one forbid water that these should not be baptised, who have received the Holy Spirit as we also [did]?
Acts 10:48And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Then they desired him to tarry with them some days.And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. And he commanded them to be baptised in the name of the Lord. Then they begged him to stay some days.
