Matthew 14:1At the time Herod the Tetrarch heard the fame of Jesus.At that season Herod the tetrarch heard the report concerning Jesus, At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,
Matthew 14:2And he said to his servants: This is John the Baptist: he is risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works shew forth themselves in him.and said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore do these powers work in him. And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.
Matthew 14:3For Herod had apprehended John and bound him, and put him into prison, because of Herodias, his brother's wife.For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife. Matthew 14:5And having a mind to put him to death, he feared the people: because they esteemed him as a prophet.And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet. Matthew 14:8But she being instructed before by her mother, said: Give me here in a dish the head of John the Baptist.And she, being put forward by her mother, saith, Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist. Matthew 14:9And the king was struck sad: yet because of his oath, and for them that sat with him at table, he commanded it to be given.And the king was grieved; but for the sake of his oaths, and of them that sat at meat with him, he commanded it to be given; And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.

When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

Matthew 14:16But Jesus said to them, They have no need to go: give you them to eat.But Jesus said unto them, They have no need to go away; give ye them to eat. But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.

Matthew 14:22And forthwith Jesus obliged his disciples to go up into the boat, and to go before him over the water, till he dismissed the people.And straightway he constrained the disciples to enter into the boat, and to go before him unto the other side, till he should send the multitudes away. And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
Matthew 14:23And having dismissed the multitude, he went into a mountain alone to pray. And when it was evening, he was there alone.And after he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain apart to pray: and when even was come, he was there alone. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
Matthew 14:24But the boat in the midst of the sea was tossed with the waves: for the wind was contrary.But the boat was now in the midst of the sea, distressed by the waves; for the wind was contrary. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
Matthew 14:25And in the fourth watch of the night, he came to them walking upon the sea.And in the fourth watch of the night he came unto them, walking upon the sea. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
Matthew 14:26And they seeing him walk upon the sea, were troubled, saying: It is an apparition. And they cried out for fear.And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a ghost; and they cried out for fear. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
Matthew 14:27And immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying: Be of good heart: it is I, fear ye not.But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
Matthew 14:28And Peter making answer, said: Lord, if it be thou, bid me come to thee upon the waters.And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto the upon the waters. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
Matthew 14:29And he said: Come. And Peter going down out of the boat, walked upon the water to come to Jesus.And he said, Come. And Peter went down from the boat, and walked upon the waters to come to Jesus. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
Matthew 14:30But seeing the wind strong, he was afraid: and when he began to sink, he cried out, saying: Lord, save me.But when he saw the wind, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
Matthew 14:31And immediately Jesus stretching forth his hand took hold of him, and said to him: O thou of little faith, why didst thou doubt?And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and took hold of him, and saith unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
Matthew 14:32And when they were come up into the boat, the wind ceased.And when they were gone up into the boat, the wind ceased. And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
Matthew 14:33And they that were in the boat came and adored him, saying: Indeed thou art the Son of God.And they that were in the boat worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God. Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Matthew 14:34And having passed the water, they came into the country of Genesar.And when they had crossed over, they came to the land, unto Gennesaret. And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.
Matthew 14:35And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent into all that country, and brought to him all that were diseased.And when the men of that place knew him, they sent into all that region round about, and brought unto him all that were sick, And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;
Matthew 14:36And they besought him that they might touch but the hem of his garment. And as many as touched, were made whole.and they besought him that they might only touch the border of his garment: and as many as touched were made whole. And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.
