| John 8:3 | And the scribes and the Pharisees bring unto him a woman taken in adultery: and they set her in the midst, | And the scribes and the Pharisees bring a woman taken in adultery; and having set her in the midst, | and was teaching them when the Scribes and the Pharisees brought to Him a woman who had been found committing adultery. They made her stand in the centre of the court, and they put the case to Him. |
| John 8:4 | And said to him: Master, this woman was even now taken in adultery. | they say unto him, Teacher, this woman hath been taken in adultery, in the very act. | "Rabbi," they said, "this woman has been found in the very act of committing adultery. |

"If you were Abraham's children," replied Jesus, "it is Abraham's deeds that you would be doing. |
| John 8:40 | But now you seek to kill me, a man who have spoken the truth to you, which I have heard of God. This Abraham did not. | But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I heard from God: this did not Abraham. | But, in fact, you are longing to kill me, a man who has spoken to you the truth which I have heard from God. Abraham did not do that. |
