Acts 19:4Then Paul said: John baptized the people with the baptism of penance, saying: That they should believe in him who was to come after him, that is to say, in Jesus.And Paul said, John gave a baptism which goes with a change of heart, saying to the people that they were to have faith in him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.And Paul said, John indeed baptised [with] the baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on him that was coming after him, that is, on Jesus.
Acts 19:5Having heard these things, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.And hearing this, they had baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus.And when they heard that, they were baptised to the name of the Lord Jesus.
Acts 19:6And when Paul had imposed his hands on them, the Holy Ghost came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.And when Paul had put his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they had the power of talking in tongues, and acting like prophets.And Paul having laid [his] hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
Acts 19:7And all the men were about twelve.And there were about twelve of these men.And all the men were about twelve.
Acts 19:8And entering into the synagogue, he spoke boldly for the space of three months, disputing and exhorting concerning the kingdom of God.And he went into the Synagogue, and for three months he was preaching there without fear, reasoning and teaching about the kingdom of God.And entering into the synagogue, he spoke boldly during three months, reasoning and persuading [the things] concerning the kingdom of God.
Acts 19:9But when some were hardened, and believed not, speaking evil of the way of the Lord, before the multitude, departing from them, he separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.But because some of the people were hard-hearted and would not give hearing, saying evil words about the Way before the people, he went away from them, and kept the disciples separate, reasoning every day in the school of Tyrannus.But when some were hardened and disbelieved, speaking evil of the way before the multitude, he left them and separated the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus.
Acts 19:10And this continued for the space of two years, so that all they who dwelt in Asia, heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Gentiles.And this went on for two years, so that all those who were living in Asia had knowledge of the word of the Lord, Greeks as well as Jews.And this took place for two years, so that all that inhabited Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks.
Acts 19:11And God wrought by the hand of Paul more than common miracles.And God did special works of power by the hands of Paul:And God wrought no ordinary miracles by the hands of Paul,
Acts 19:12So that even there were brought from his body to the sick, handkerchiefs and aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the wicked spirits went out of them.So that bits of linen and clothing from his body were taken to people who were ill, and their diseases went away from them and the evil spirits went out.so that even napkins or aprons were brought from his body [and put] upon the sick, and the diseases left them, and the wicked spirits went out.
Acts 19:13Now some also of the Jewish exorcists who went about, attempted to invoke over them that had evil spirits, the name of the Lord Jesus, saying: I conjure you by Jesus, whom Paul preacheth.But some of the Jews who went from place to place driving out evil spirits, took it on themselves to make use of the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, I give you orders, by Jesus, whom Paul is preaching.And certain of the Jewish exorcists also, who went about, took in hand to call upon those who had wicked spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, I adjure you by Jesus, whom Paul preaches.

Acts 19:15But the wicked spirit, answering, said to them: Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?And the evil spirit, answering, said to them, I have knowledge of Jesus, and of Paul, but who are you?But the wicked spirit answering said to them, Jesus I know, and Paul I am acquainted with; but *ye*, who are ye?
Acts 19:16And the man in whom the wicked spirit was, leaping upon them, and mastering them both, prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.And the man in whom the evil spirit was, jumping on them, was stronger than the two of them, and overcame them, so that they went running from that house, wounded and without their clothing.And the man in whom the wicked spirit was leaped upon them, and having mastered both, prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
Acts 19:17And this became known to all the Jews and the Gentiles that dwelt at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.And this came to the ears of all those, Jews and Greeks, who were living at Ephesus; and fear came on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was made great.And this became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, who inhabited Ephesus, and fear fell upon all of them, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
Acts 19:18And many of them that believed, came confessing and declaring their deeds.And a number of those who had faith came and made a public statement of their sins and all their acts.And many of those that believed came confessing and declaring their deeds.
Acts 19:19And many of them who had followed curious arts, brought together their books, and burnt them before all; and counting the price of them, they found the money to be fifty thousand pieces of silver.And a great number of those who were experts in strange arts took their books and put them on the fire in front of everyone: and when the books were valued they came to fifty thousand bits of silver.And many of those that practised curious arts brought their books [of charms] and burnt them before all. And they reckoned up the prices of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.
Acts 19:20So mightily grew the word of God, and was confirmed.So the word of the Lord was increased very greatly and was full of power.Thus with might the word of the Lord increased and prevailed.
Acts 19:21And when these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying: After I have been there, I must see Rome also.Now after these things were ended, Paul came to a decision that when he had gone through Macedonia and Achaia he would go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I have a desire to see Rome.And when these things were fulfilled, Paul purposed in his spirit to go to Jerusalem, passing through Macedonia and Achaia, saying, After I have been there I must see Rome also.
Acts 19:22And sending into Macedonia two of them that ministered to him, Timothy and Erastus, he himself remained for a time in Asia.And having sent two of his helpers, Timothy and Erastus, into Macedonia, he himself went on living in Asia for a time.And having sent into Macedonia two of those ministering to him, Timotheus and Erastus, he remained himself awhile in Asia.
Acts 19:23Now at that time there arose no small disturbance about the way of the Lord.And about that time a great outcry took place about the Way.And there took place at that time no small disturbance about the way.
Acts 19:24For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver temples for Diana, brought no small gain to the craftsmen;For there was a certain man named Demetrius, a silver-worker, who made silver boxes for the images of Diana, and gave no small profit to the workmen;For a certain [man] by name Demetrius, a silver-beater, making silver temples of Artemis, brought no small gain to the artisans;
Acts 19:25Whom he calling together, with the workmen of like occupation, said: Sirs, you know that our gain is by this trade;Whom he got together, with other workmen of the same trade, and said to them, Men, it is clear that from this business we get our wealth.whom having brought together, and those who wrought in such things, he said, Men, ye know that our well-living arises from this work,
Acts 19:26And you see and hear, that this Paul by persuasion hath drawn away a great multitude, not only of Ephesus, but almost of all Asia, saying: They are not gods which are made by hands.And you see, for it has come to your ears, that not only at Ephesus, but almost all through Asia, this Paul has been teaching numbers of people and turning them away, saying that those are not gods who are made by men's hands:and ye see and hear that this Paul has persuaded and turned away a great crowd, not only of Ephesus, but almost of all Asia, saying that they are no gods which are made with hands.
Acts 19:27So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought, but also the temple of great Diana shall be reputed for nothing; yea, and her majesty shall begin to be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.And there is danger, not only that our trade may be damaged in the opinion of men, but that the holy place of the great goddess Diana may be no longer honoured, and that she to whom all Asia and the world give worship, will be put down from her high position.Now not only there is danger for us that our business come into discredit, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis be counted for nothing, and that her greatness should be destroyed whom the whole of Asia and the world reveres.
Acts 19:28Having heard these things, they were full of anger, and cried out, saying: Great is Diana of the Ephesians.And hearing this, they were very angry, crying out and saying, Great is Diana of Ephesus.And having heard [this], and being filled with rage, they cried out, saying, Great [is] Artemis of the Ephesians.
Acts 19:29And the whole city was filled with confusion; and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul's companions, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.And the town was full of noise and trouble, and they all came running into the theatre, having taken by force Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia who were journeying in company with Paul.And the [whole] city was filled with confusion, and they rushed with one accord to the theatre, having seized and carried off with [them] Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians, fellow-travellers of Paul.
Acts 19:30And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.And when Paul was about to go in to the people, the disciples did not let him.But Paul intending to go in to the people, the disciples suffered him not;
Acts 19:31And some also of the rulers of Asia, who were his friends, sent unto him, desiring that he would not venture himself into the theatre.And some of the rulers of Asia, being his friends, sent to him, requesting him seriously not to put himself in danger by going into the theatre.and some of the Asiarchs also, who were his friends, sent to him and urged him not to throw himself into the theatre.
Acts 19:32Now some cried one thing, some another. For the assembly was confused, and the greater part knew not for what cause they were come together.And some said one thing, and some another: for there was no order in the meeting; and most of them had no idea why they had come together.Different persons therefore cried out some different thing; for the assembly was tumultuous, and the most did not know for what cause they had come together.
Acts 19:33And they drew forth Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews thrusting him forward. And Alexander beckoning with his hand for silence, would have given the people satisfaction.Then they took Alexander out from among the people, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander, making a sign with his hand, was about to make a statement to the people in answer:But from among the crowd they put forward Alexander, the Jews pushing him forward. And Alexander, beckoning with his hand, would have made a defence to the people.
Acts 19:34But as soon as they perceived him to be a Jew, all with one voice, for the space of about two hours, cried out: Great is Diana of the Ephesians.But when they saw that he was a Jew, all of them with one voice went on crying out for about two hours, Great is Diana of Ephesus.But, recognising that he was a Jew, there was one cry from all, shouting for about two hours, Great [is] Artemis of the Ephesians.
Acts 19:35And when the town clerk had appeased the multitudes, he said: Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great Diana, and of Jupiter's offspring.And when the chief secretary had got the people quiet, he said, Men of Ephesus, is any man without knowledge that the town of Ephesus is the keeper of the holy place of the great Diana, who was sent down from Jupiter?And the townclerk, having quieted the crowd, said, Ephesians, what man is there then who does not know that the city of the Ephesians is temple-keeper of Artemis the great, and of the [image] which fell down from heaven?
Acts 19:36For as much therefore as these things cannot be contradicted, you ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly.So then, because these things may not be doubted, it would be better for you to be quiet, and do nothing unwise.These things therefore being undeniable, it is necessary that ye should be calm and do nothing headlong.
Acts 19:37For you have brought hither these men, who are neither guilty of sacrilege, nor of blasphemy against your goddess.For you have taken these men, who are not doing damage to the holy place or talking against our goddess.For ye have brought these men, [who are] neither temple-plunderers, nor speak injuriously of your goddess.
Acts 19:38But if Demetrius and the craftsmen that are with him, have a matter against any man, the courts of justice are open, and there are proconsuls: let them accuse one another.If, then, Demetrius and the workmen who are with him have a protest to make against any man, the law is open to them, and there are judges; let them put up a cause at law against one another.If therefore Demetrius and the artisans who [are] with him have a matter against any one, the courts are being held, and there are proconsuls: let them accuse one another.
Acts 19:39And if you inquire after any other matter, it may be decided in a lawful assembly.But if any other business is in question, let it be taken up in the regular meeting.But if ye inquire anything concerning other matters, it will be settled in the regular assembly.
Acts 19:40For we are even in danger to be called in question for this day's uproar, there being no man guilty (of whom we may give account) of this concourse. And when he had said these things, he dismissed the assembly.For, truly, we are in danger of being made responsible for this day's trouble, there being no cause for it: and we are not able to give any reason for this coming together.For also we are in danger to be put in accusation for sedition for this [affair] of to-day, no cause existing in reference to which we shall be able to give a reason for this concourse.
