Genesis 25:20Who when he was forty years old, took to wife Rebecca the daughter of Bathuel the Syrian of Mesopotamia, sister to Laban.Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramaean of Paddan-aram, and the sister of Laban the Aramaean, to be his wife. And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebecca as wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian.
Genesis 25:21And Isaac besought the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and he heard him, and made Rebecca to conceive.Isaac made prayer to the Lord for his wife because she had no children; and the Lord gave ear to his prayer, and Rebekah became with child. And Isaac entreated Jehovah for his wife, because she was barren; and Jehovah was entreated of him, and Rebecca his wife conceived.
Genesis 25:22But the children struggled in her womb: and she said: If it were to be so with me, what need was there to conceive? And she went to consult the Lord. And the children were fighting together inside her, and she said, If it is to be so, why am I like this? So she went to put her question to the Lord. And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If [it be] so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of Jehovah.
Genesis 25:23And he answering said: Two nations are in thy womb, and two peoples shall be divided out of thy womb, and one people shall overcome the other, and the elder shall serve the younger. And the Lord said to her, Two nations are in your body, and two peoples will come to birth from you: the one will be stronger than the other, and the older will be the servant of the younger. And Jehovah said to her, Two nations are in thy womb, And two peoples shall be separated from thy bowels; And one people shall be stronger than the other people, And the elder shall serve the younger.

Immediately the other coming forth, held his brother's foot in his hand, and therefore he was called Jacob. And the first came out red from head to foot like a robe of hair, and they gave him the name of Esau. And the first came out red all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
Genesis 25:26Isaac was threescore years old when the children were born unto him.And after him, his brother came out, gripping Esau's foot; and he was named Jacob: Isaac was sixty years old when she gave birth to them. And after that came his brother out; and his hand took hold of Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob. Genesis 25:32He answered: Lo I die, what will the first birthright avail me.And Esau said, Truly, I am at the point of death: what profit is the birthright to me?And Esau said, Behold, I am going to die, and of what use can the birthright be to me?
Genesis 25:33Jacob said: Swear therefore to me. Esau swore to him, and sold his first birthright. And Jacob said, First of all give me your oath; and he gave him his oath, handing over his birthright to Jacob. And Jacob said, Swear unto me now. And he swore unto him, and sold his birthright to Jacob.
Genesis 25:34And so taking bread and the pottage of lentils, he ate, and drank, and went his way; making little account of having sold his first birthright. Then Jacob gave him bread and soup; and he took food and drink and went away, caring little for his birthright. And Jacob gave Esau bread and the dish of lentils; and he ate and drank, and rose up and went away. Thus Esau despised the birthright.
