Jonah 2:1Now the Lord prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonas: and Jonas was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. Then Jonah made prayer to the Lord his God from the inside of the fish, and said,Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,
Jonah 2:2And Jonas prayed to the Lord his God out of the belly of the fish.In my trouble I was crying to the Lord, and he gave me an answer; out of the deepest underworld I sent up a cry, and you gave ear to my voice. And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
Jonah 2:3And he said: I cried out of my affliction to the Lord, and he heard me: I cried out of the belly of hell, and thou hast heard my voice. For you have put me down into the deep, into the heart of the sea; and the river was round about me; all your waves and your rolling waters went over me.For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
Jonah 2:4And thou hast cast me forth into the deep in the heart of the sea, and a flood hath compassed me: all thy billows, and thy waves have passed over me.And I said, I have been sent away from before your eyes; how may I ever again see your holy Temple? Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
Jonah 2:5And I said: I am cast away out of the sight of thy eyes: but yet I shall see thy holy temple again. The waters were circling round me, even to the neck; the deep was about me; the sea-grass was twisted round my head. The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
Jonah 2:6The waters compassed me about even to the soul: the deep hath closed me round about, the sea hath covered my head.I went down to the bases of the mountains; as for the earth, her walls were about me for ever: but you have taken up my life from the underworld, O Lord my God.I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.
Jonah 2:7I went down to the lowest parts of the mountains: the bars of the earth have shut me up for ever: and thou wilt bring up my life from corruption, O Lord my God.When my soul in me was overcome, I kept the memory of the Lord: and my prayer came in to you, into your holy Temple. When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
Jonah 2:8When my soul was in distress within me, I remembered the Lord: that my prayer may come to thee, unto thy holy temple. The worshippers of false gods have given up their only hope. They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
Jonah 2:9They that are vain observe vanities, forsake their own mercy. But I will make an offering to you with the voice of praise; I will give effect to my oaths. Salvation is the Lord's.But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
Jonah 2:10But I with the voice of praise will sacrifice to thee: I will pay whatsoever I have vowed for my salvation to the Lord. And at the Lord's order, the fish sent Jonah out of its mouth on to the dry land. And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
Jonah 2:11And the Lord spoke to the fish: and it vomited out Jonas upon the dry land.
