| Exodus 6:1 | And the Lord said to Moses: Now thou shalt see what I will do to Pharao: for by a mighty hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he cast them out of his land. | And the Lord said to Moses, Now you will see what I am about to do to Pharaoh; for by a strong hand he will be forced to let them go, driving them out of his land because of my outstretched arm. | |
| Exodus 6:2 | And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: I am the Lord, | And God said to Moses, I am Yahweh: | |
| Exodus 6:3 | That appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, by the name of God Almighty; and my name ADONAI I did not shew them. | I let myself be seen by Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as God, the Ruler of all; but they had no knowledge of my name Yahweh. | |
| Exodus 6:4 | And I made a covenant with them, to give them the land of Chanaan, the land of their pilgrimage wherein they were strangers. | And I made an agreement with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their wanderings. | |
| Exodus 6:5 | I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, wherewith the Egyptians have oppressed them: and I have remembered my covenant. | And truly my ears are open to the cry of the children of Israel whom the Egyptians keep under their yoke; and I have kept in mind my agreement. | |
| Exodus 6:6 | Therefore say to the children of Israel: I am the Lord who will bring you out from the work prison of the Egyptians, and will deliver you from bondage: and redeem you with a high arm, and great judgments. | Say then to the children of Israel, I am Yahweh, and I will take you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians, and make you safe from their power, and will make you free by the strength of my arm after great punishments. | |
| Exodus 6:7 | And I will take you to myself for my people, I will be your God: and you shall know that I am the Lord your God who brought you out from the work prison of the Egyptians. | And I will take you to be my people and I will be your God; and you will be certain that I am the Lord your God, who takes you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. | |
| Exodus 6:8 | And brought you into the land, concerning which I lifted up my hand to give it to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and I will give it you to possess, I am the Lord. | And I will be your guide into the land which I made an oath to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it to you for your heritage: I am Yahweh. | |
