1st-Corinthians 1:1Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Sosthenes a brother,Paul, an Apostle of Jesus Christ by the purpose of God, and Sosthenes the brother,Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,
1st-Corinthians 1:2To the church of God that is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that invoke the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, in every place of theirs and ours.To the church of God which is in Corinth, to those who have been made holy in Christ Jesus, saints by the selection of God, with all those who in every place give honour to the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:to the assembly of God which is at Corinth; those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours:
1st-Corinthians 1:3Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1st-Corinthians 1:4I give thanks to my God always for you, for the grace of God that is given you in Christ Jesus,I give praise to my God for you at all times, because of the grace of God which has been given to you in Christ Jesus;I always thank my God concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus;
1st-Corinthians 1:5That in all things you are made rich in him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;So that in him you have wealth in all things, in word and in knowledge of every sort;that in everything you were enriched in him, in all speech and all knowledge;
1st-Corinthians 1:6As the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you,Even as the witness of the Christ has been made certain among you:even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
1st-Corinthians 1:7So that nothing is wanting to you in any grace, waiting for the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ.So that having every grace you are living in the hope of the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ;so that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ;
1st-Corinthians 1:8Who also will confirm you unto the end without crime, in the day of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.Who will give you strength to the end, to be free from all sin in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.who will also confirm you until the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1st-Corinthians 1:9God is faithful: by whom you are called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.God is true, through whom you have been given a part with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
1st-Corinthians 1:10Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no schisms among you; but that you be perfect in the same mind, and in the same judgment.Now I make request to you, my brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you will all say the same thing, and that there may be no divisions among you, so that you may be in complete agreement, in the same mind and in the same opinion.Now I beg you, brothers, through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
1st-Corinthians 1:11For it hath been signified unto me, my brethren, of you, by them that are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.Because it has come to my knowledge, through those of the house of Chloe, that there are divisions among you, my brothers.For it has been reported to me concerning you, my brothers, by those who are from Chloe's household, that there are contentions among you.
1st-Corinthians 1:12Now this I say, that every one of you saith: I indeed am of Paul; and I am of Apollo; and I am of Cephas; and I of Christ.That is, that some of you say, I am of Paul; some say, I am of Apollos; some say, I am of Cephas; and some say, I am Christ's.Now I mean this, that each one of you says, "I follow Paul," "I follow Apollos," "I follow Cephas," and, "I follow Christ."
1st-Corinthians 1:13Is Christ divided? Was Paul then crucified for you? or were you baptized in the name of Paul?Is there a division in Christ? was Paul nailed to the cross for you? or were you given baptism in the name of Paul?Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?
1st-Corinthians 1:14I give God thanks, that I baptized none of you but Crispus and Caius;I give praise to God that not one of you had baptism from me, but Crispus and Gaius;I thank God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius,
1st-Corinthians 1:15Lest any should say that you were baptized in my name.So that no one may be able to say that you had baptism in my name.so that no one should say that I had baptized you into my own name.
1st-Corinthians 1:16And I baptized also the household of Stephanus; besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.And I gave baptism to the house of Stephanas; but I am not certain that any others had baptism from me.(I also baptized the household of Stephanas; besides them, I don't know whether I baptized any other.)
1st-Corinthians 1:17For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not in wisdom of speech, lest the cross of Christ should be made void.For Christ sent me, not to give baptism, but to be a preacher of the good news: not with wise words, for fear that the cross of Christ might be made of no value.For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of Christ wouldn't be made void.
1st-Corinthians 1:18For the word of the cross, to them indeed that perish, is foolishness; but to them that are saved, that is, to us, it is the power of God.For the word of the cross seems foolish to those who are on the way to destruction; but to us who are on the way to salvation it is the power of God.For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are saved it is the power of God.
1st-Corinthians 1:19For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the prudence of the prudent I will reject.As it says in the holy Writings, I will put an end to the wisdom of the wise, and will put on one side the designs of those who have knowledge.For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing."
1st-Corinthians 1:20Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?Where is the wise? where is he who has knowledge of the law? where is the man of this world who has a love of discussion? has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? Hasn't God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
1st-Corinthians 1:21For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world, by wisdom, knew not God, it pleased God, by the foolishness of our preaching, to save them that believe.For because, by the purpose of God, the world, with all its wisdom, had not the knowledge of God, it was God's pleasure, by so foolish a thing as preaching, to give salvation to those who had faith in him.For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn't know God, it was God's good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.
1st-Corinthians 1:22For both the Jews require signs, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:Seeing that the Jews make request for signs, and the Greeks are looking for knowledge:For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom,
1st-Corinthians 1:23But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews indeed a stumblingblock, and unto the Gentiles foolishness:But we give the good news of Christ on the cross, a hard thing to the Jews, and a foolish thing to the Gentiles;but we preach Christ crucified; a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks,
1st-Corinthians 1:24But unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.But to those of God's selection, Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power and the wisdom of God.but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
1st-Corinthians 1:25For the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.Because what seems foolish in God is wiser than men; and what seems feeble in God is stronger than men.Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1st-Corinthians 1:26For see your vocation, brethren, that there are not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble:For you see God's design for you, my brothers, that he has not taken a great number of the wise after the flesh, not the strong, not the noble:For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble;
1st-Corinthians 1:27But the foolish things of the world hath God chosen, that he may confound the wise; and the weak things of the world hath God chosen, that he may confound the strong.But God made selection of the foolish things of this world so that he might put the wise to shame; and the feeble things that he might put to shame the strong;but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong;
1st-Corinthians 1:28And the base things of the world, and the things that are contemptible, hath God chosen, and things that are not, that he might bring to nought things that are:And the low things of the world, and the things without honour, did God make selection of, yes, even the things which are not, so that he might make as nothing the things which are:and God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that are not, that he might bring to nothing the things that are:
1st-Corinthians 1:29That no flesh should glory in his sight.So that no flesh might have glory before God.that no flesh should boast before God.
1st-Corinthians 1:30But of him are you in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and justice, and sanctification, and redemption:But God has given you a place in Christ Jesus, through whom God has given us wisdom and righteousness and salvation, and made us holy:But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:
1st-Corinthians 1:31That, as it is written: He that glorieth, may glory in the Lord.So that, as it is said in the holy Writings, Whoever has a desire for glory, let his glory be in the Lord.that, according as it is written, "He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord."
