| Exodus 2:1 | After this there went a man of the house of Levi; and took a wife of his own kindred. | Now a man of the house of Levi took as his wife a daughter of Levi. | A man of the house of Levi went and took a daughter of Levi as his wife. |

Moses feared, and said: How is this come to be known ? | And he said, Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? are you going to put me to death as you did the Egyptian? And Moses was in fear, and said, It is clear that the thing has come to light. | He said, "Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you plan to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian?" Moses was afraid, and said, "Surely this thing is known." |
