Hebrews 10:1For the law having a shadow of the good things to come, not the very image of the things; by the selfsame sacrifices which they offer continually every year, can never make the comers thereunto perfect:For the law, being only a poor copy of the future good things, and not the true image of those things, is never able to make the people who come to the altar every year with the same offerings completely clean.For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.
Hebrews 10:2For then they would have ceased to be offered: because the worshippers once cleansed should have no conscience of sin any longer:For if this had been possible, would there not have been an end of those offerings, because the worshippers would have been made completely clean and would have been no longer conscious of sins?Or else wouldn't they have ceased to be offered, because the worshippers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins?
Hebrews 10:3But in them there is made a commemoration of sins every year.But year by year there is a memory of sins in those offerings.But in those sacrifices there is a memory made of sins year by year.
Hebrews 10:4For it is impossible that with the blood of oxen and goats sin should be taken away.Because it is not possible for the blood of oxen and goats to take away sins.For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
Hebrews 10:5Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith: Sacrifice and oblation thou wouldest not: but a body thou hast fitted to me:So that when he comes into the world, he says, You had no desire for offerings, but you made a body ready for me;Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, "Sacrifice and offering you didn't desire, But a body did you prepare for me;
Hebrews 10:6Holocausts for sin did not please thee.You had no joy in burned offerings or in offerings for sin.In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you had no pleasure.
Hebrews 10:7Then said I: Behold I come: in the head of the book it is written of me: that I should do thy will, O God.Then I said, See, I have come to do your pleasure, O God (as it is said of me in the roll of the book).Then I said, 'Behold, I have come (In the scroll of the book it is written of me) To do your will, God.'"
Hebrews 10:8In saying before, Sacrifices, and oblations, and holocausts for sin thou wouldest not, neither are they pleasing to thee, which are offered according to the law.After saying, You had no desire for offerings, for burned offerings or offerings for sin (which are made by the law) and you had no pleasure in them,Saying above, "Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn't desire, neither had pleasure in them" (those which are offered according to the law),
Hebrews 10:9Then said I: Behold, I come to do thy will, O God: he taketh away the first, that he may establish that which followeth.Then he said, See, I have come to do your pleasure. He took away the old order, so that he might put the new order in its place.then has he said, "Behold, I have come to do your will." He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,
Hebrews 10:10In the which will, we are sanctified by the oblation of the body of Jesus Christ once.By that pleasure we have been made holy, by the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once and for ever.by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Hebrews 10:11And every priest indeed standeth daily ministering, and often offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.And every priest takes his place at the altar day by day, doing what is necessary, and making again and again the same offerings which are never able to take away sins.Every priest indeed stands day by day ministering and often offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins,
Hebrews 10:12But this man offering one sacrifice for sins, for ever sitteth on the right hand of God,But when Jesus had made one offering for sins for ever, he took his place at the right hand of God;but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
Hebrews 10:13From henceforth expecting, until his enemies be made his footstool.And has been waiting there from that time, till all who are against him are made a foot-rest for his feet.henceforth expecting until his enemies to be made the footstool of his feet.
Hebrews 10:14For by one oblation he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.Because by one offering he has made complete for ever those who are made holy.For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are sanctified.
Hebrews 10:15And the Holy Ghost also doth testify this to us. For after that he said:And the Holy Spirit is a witness for us: for after he had said,The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after he has said,
Hebrews 10:16And this is the testament which I will make unto them after those days, saith the Lord. I will give my laws in their hearts, and on their minds will I write them:This is the agreement which I will make with them after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws in their hearts, writing them in their minds; he said,"This is the covenant that I will make with them: 'After those days,' says the Lord, 'I will put my laws on their heart, I will also write them on their mind;'" then,
Hebrews 10:17And their sins and iniquities I will remember no more.And I will keep no more memory of their sins and of their evil-doings."I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more."
Hebrews 10:18Now where there is a remission of these, there is no more an oblation for sin.Now where there is forgiveness of these, there is no more offering for sin.Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Hebrews 10:19Having therefore, brethren, a confidence in the entering into the holies by the blood of Christ;So then, my brothers, being able to go into the holy place without fear, because of the blood of Jesus,Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus,
Hebrews 10:20A new and living way which he hath dedicated for us through the veil, that is to say, his flesh,By the new and living way which he made open for us through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
Hebrews 10:21And a high priest over the house of God:And having a great priest over the house of God,and having a great priest over the house of God;
Hebrews 10:22Let us draw near with a true heart in fulness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with clean water.Let us go in with true hearts, in certain faith, having our hearts made free from the sense of sin and our bodies washed with clean water:let us draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water,
Hebrews 10:23Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering (for he is faithful that hath promised),Let us keep the witness of our hope strong and unshaking, for he is true who has given his word:let us hold fast the confession of our hope unyieldingly. For he who promised is faithful.
Hebrews 10:24And let us consider one another, to provoke unto charity and to good works:And let us be moving one another at all times to love and good works;Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works,
Hebrews 10:25Not forsaking our assembly, as some are accustomed; but comforting one another, and so much the more as you see the day approaching.Not giving up our meetings, as is the way of some, but keeping one another strong in faith; and all the more because you see the day coming near.not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:26For if we sin wilfully after having the knowledge of the truth, there is now left no sacrifice for sins,For if we do evil on purpose after we have had the knowledge of what is true, there is no more offering for sins,For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins,
Hebrews 10:27But a certain dreadful expectation of judgment, and the rage of a fire which shall consume the adversaries.But only a great fear of being judged, and of the fire of wrath which will be the destruction of the haters of God.but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries.
Hebrews 10:28A man making void the law of Moses, dieth without any mercy under two or three witnesses:A man who has gone against the law of Moses is put to death without pity on the word of two or three witnesses:A man who has set at nothing Moses' law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.
Hebrews 10:29How much more, do you think he deserveth worse punishments, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath esteemed the blood of the testament unclean, by which he was sanctified, and hath offered an affront to the Spirit of grace?But will not the man by whom the Son of God has been crushed under foot, and the blood of the agreement with which he was washed clean has been taken as an unholy thing, and who has had no respect for the Spirit of grace, be judged bad enough for a very much worse punishment?How much worse punishment, do you think, will he be judged worthy of, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
Hebrews 10:30For we know him that hath said: Vengeance belongeth to me, and I will repay. And again: The Lord shall judge his people.For we have had experience of him who says, Punishment is mine, I will give reward. And again, The Lord will be judge of his people.For we know him who said, "Vengeance belongs to me," says the Lord, "I will repay." Again, "The Lord will judge his people."
Hebrews 10:31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.We may well go in fear of falling into the hands of the living God.It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Hebrews 10:32But call to mind the former days, wherein, being illuminated, you endured a great fight of afflictions.But give thought to the days after you had seen the light, when you went through a great war of troubles;But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings;
Hebrews 10:33And on the one hand indeed, by reproaches and tribulations, were made a gazingstock; and on the other, became companions of them that were used in such sort.In part, in being attacked by angry words and cruel acts, before the eyes of everyone, and in part, in being united with those who were attacked in this way.partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions; and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so.
Hebrews 10:34For you both had compassion on them that were in bands, and took with joy the being stripped of your own goods, knowing that you have a better and a lasting substance.For you had pity on those who were in prison, and had joy in the loss of your property, in the knowledge that you still had a better property and one which you would keep for ever.For you both had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and an enduring one in the heavens.
Hebrews 10:35Do not therefore lose your confidence, which hath a great reward.So do not give up your hope which will be greatly rewarded.Therefore don't throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.
Hebrews 10:36For patience is necessary for you; that, doing the will of God, you may receive the promise.For, having done what was right in God's eyes, you have need of waiting before his word has effect for you.For you need patience, so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
Hebrews 10:37For yet a little and a very little while, and he that is to come, will come, and will not delay.In a very little time he who is coming will come; he will not be slow."For yet a very little while, He who comes will come, and will not wait.
Hebrews 10:38But my just man liveth by faith; but if he withdraw himself, he shall not please my soul.But the upright man will be living by his faith; and if he goes back, my soul will have no pleasure in him.But the righteous will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him."
Hebrews 10:39But we are not the children of withdrawing unto perdition, but of faith to the saving of the soul.But we are not of those who go back to destruction; but of those who have faith even to the salvation of the soul.But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.
