| John 16:1 | These things have I spoken to you, that you may not be scandalized. | I have said these things to you so that you may not be in doubt. | "These things have I spoken to you, so that you wouldn't be caused to stumble. |
| John 16:2 | They will put you out of the synagogues: yea, the hour cometh, that whosoever killeth you, will think that he doth a service to God. | They will put you out of the Synagogues: yes, the time is coming when whoever puts you to death will have the belief that he is doing God's pleasure. | They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time comes that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God. |

| John 16:7 | But I tell you the truth: it is expedient to you that I go: for if I go not, the Paraclete will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. | But what I am saying is true: my going is for your good: for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I don't go away, the Counselor won't come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. |
