| Zechariah 1:1 | In the eighth month, in the second year of king Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zacharias the son of Barachias, the son of Addo, the prophet, saying: | In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying, | In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of Yahweh to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet, saying, |
| Zechariah 1:2 | The Lord hath been exceeding angry with your fathers. | The Lord has been very angry with your fathers: | Yahweh was sore displeased with your fathers. |
| Zechariah 1:3 | And thou shalt say to them: Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Turn ye to me, saith the Lord of hosts: and I will turn to you, saith the Lord of hosts. | And you are to say to them, These are the words of the Lord of armies: Come back to me, says the Lord of armies, and I will come back to you. | Therefore say you to them, Thus says Yahweh of Hosts: Return to me, says Yahweh of Hosts, and I will return to you, says Yahweh of Hosts. |

| Zechariah 1:6 | But yet my words, and my ordinances, which I gave in charge to my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers, and they returned, and said: As the Lord of hosts thought to do to us according to our ways, and according to our devices, so he hath done to us. | But my words and my orders, which I gave to my servants the prophets, have they not overtaken your fathers? and turning back they said, As it was the purpose of the Lord of armies to do to us, in reward for our ways and our doings, so has he done. | But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? and they turned and said, Like as Yahweh of Hosts thought to do to us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so has he dealt with us. |

| Zechariah 1:8 | I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees, that were in the bottom: and behind him were horses, red, speckled, and white. | I saw in the night a man on a red horse, between the mountains in the valley, and at his back were horses, red, black, white, and of mixed colours. | I saw in the night, and, behold, a man riding on a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle-trees that were in the bottom; and behind him there were horses, red, sorrel, and white. |
| Zechariah 1:9 | And I said: What are these, my Lord ? and the angel that spoke in me, said to me: I will shew thee what these are: | Then I said, O my lord, what are these? And the angel who was talking to me said to me, I will make clear to you what they are. | Then said I, my lord, what are these? The angel who talked with me said to me, I will show you what these are. |
| Zechariah 1:10 | And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered, and said: These are they, whom the Lord hath sent to walk through the earth. | And the man who was between the mountains, answering me, said, These are those whom the Lord has sent to go up and down through the earth. | The man who stood among the myrtle-trees answered, These are they whom Yahweh has sent to walk back and forth through the earth. |
| Zechariah 1:11 | And they answered the angel of the Lord, that stood among the myrtle trees, and said: We have walked through the earth, and behold all the earth is inhabited, and is at rest. | And the man who was between the mountains, answering, said to the angel of the Lord, We have gone up and down through the earth, and all the earth is quiet and at rest. | They answered the angel of Yahweh who stood among the myrtle-trees, and said, We have walked back and forth through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sits still, and is at rest. |
| Zechariah 1:12 | And the angel of the Lord answered, and said: O Lord of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem, and on the cities of Juda, with which thou hast been angry? this is now the seventieth year. | Then the angel of the Lord, answering, said, O Lord of armies, how long will it be before you have mercy on Jerusalem and on the towns of Judah against which your wrath has been burning for seventy years? | Then the angel of Yahweh answered, O Yahweh of Hosts, how long will you not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which you have had indignation these seventy years? |
| Zechariah 1:13 | And the Lord answered the angel, that spoke in me, good words, comfortable words. | And the Lord gave an answer in good and comforting words to the angel who was talking to me. | Yahweh answered the angel who talked with me with good words, [even] comfortable words. |
| Zechariah 1:14 | And the angel that spoke in me, said to me: Cry thou, saying: Thus saith the Lord of hosts: I am zealous for Jerusalem, and Sion with a great zeal. | And the angel who was talking to me said to me, Let your voice be loud and say, These are the words of the Lord of armies: I am greatly moved about the fate of Jerusalem and of Zion. | So the angel who talked with me said to me, Cry you, saying, Thus says Yahweh of Hosts: I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy. |
| Zechariah 1:15 | And I am angry with a great anger with the wealthy nations: for I was angry a little, but they helped forward the evil. | And I am very angry with the nations who are living untroubled: for when I was only a little angry, they made the evil worse. | I am very sore displeased with the nations that are at ease; for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction. |
| Zechariah 1:16 | Therefore thus saith the Lord: I will return to Jerusalem in mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the Lord of hosts: and the building line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem. | So this is what the Lord has said: I have come back to Jerusalem with mercies; my house is to be put up in her, says the Lord of armies, and a line is to be stretched out over Jerusalem. | Therefore thus says Yahweh: I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies; my house shall be built in it, says Yahweh of Hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth over Jerusalem. |
| Zechariah 1:17 | Cry yet, saying: Thus saith the Lord of hosts: My cities shall yet flow with good things : and the Lord will yet comfort Sion, and he will yet choose Jerusalem. | And again let your voice be loud and say, This is what the Lord of armies has said: My towns will again be overflowing with good things, and again the Lord will give comfort to Zion and take Jerusalem for himself. | Cry yet again, saying, Thus says Yahweh of Hosts: My cities shall yet overflow with prosperity; and Yahweh shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem. |
| Zechariah 1:18 | And I lifted up my eyes, and saw: and behold four horns. | And lifting up my eyes I saw four horns. | I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and, behold, four horns. |
| Zechariah 1:19 | And I said to the angel that spoke to me: What are these? And he said to me: These are the horns that have scattered Juda, and Israel, and Jerusalem. | And I said to the angel who was talking to me, What are these? And he said to me, These are the horns which have sent Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem in flight. | I said to the angel who talked with me, What are these? He answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem. |
| Zechariah 1:20 | And the Lord shewed me four smiths. | And the Lord gave me a vision of four metal-workers. | Yahweh showed me four smiths. |
| Zechariah 1:21 | And I said: What come these to do? and he spoke, saying: These are the horns which have scattered Juda every man apart, and none of them lifted up his head: and these are come to fray them, to cast down the horns of the nations, that have lifted up the horn upon the land of Juda to scatter it. | Then I said, What have these come to do? And he said, These are the horns which sent Judah in flight, and kept him from lifting up his head: but these men have come to send fear on them and to put down the nations who are lifting up their horns against the land of Judah to send it in flight. | Then said I, What come these to do? He spoke, saying, These are the horns which scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head; but these are come to terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations, which lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it. |
