| Ezekiel 12:1 | And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: | And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, | And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying, |
| Ezekiel 12:2 | Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a provoking house: who have eyes to see, and see not: and ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a provoking house. | Son of man, you are living among an uncontrolled people, who have eyes to see but see not, and ears for hearing but they do not give ear; for they are an uncontrolled people. | `Son of man, in the midst of the rebellious house thou art dwelling, that have eyes to see, and they have not seen; ears they have to hear, and they have not heard; for a rebellious house [are] they. |
| Ezekiel 12:3 | Thou, therefore, O son of man, prepare thee all necessaries for removing, and remove by day in their sight: and thou shalt remove out of thy place to another place in their sight, if so be they will regard it: for they are a provoking house. | And you, O son of man, by day, before their eyes, get ready the vessels of one who is taken away, and go away from your place to another place before their eyes: it may be that they will see, though they are an uncontrolled people. | And thou, son of man, make to thee vessels of removal, and remove by day before their eyes, and thou hast removed from thy place unto another place before their eyes, it may be they consider, for a rebellious house they [are]. |
| Ezekiel 12:4 | And thou shalt bring forth thy furniture as the furniture of one that is removing by day in their sight: and thou shalt go forth in the evening in their presence, as one goeth forth that removeth his dwelling. | By day, before their eyes, take out your vessels like those of one who is taken away: and go out in the evening before their eyes, like those who are taken away as prisoners. | And thou hast brought forth thy vessels as vessels of removal by day before their eyes, and thou, thou dost go forth at even before their eyes, as the goings forth of a removal. |
| Ezekiel 12:5 | Dig thee a way through the wall before their eyes: and thou shalt go forth through it. | Make a hole in the wall, before their eyes, and go out through it. | Before their eyes dig for thee through the wall, and thou hast brought forth by it. |
| Ezekiel 12:6 | In their sight thou shalt be carried out upon men's shoulders, thou shalt be carried out in the dark: thou shalt cover thy face, and shalt not see the ground: for I have set thee for a sign of things to come to the house of Israel. | And before their eyes, take your goods on your back and go out in the dark; go with your face covered: for I have made you a sign to the children of Israel. | Before their eyes on the shoulder thou dost bear, in the darkness thou dost bring forth, thy face thou dost cover, and thou dost not see the earth, for a type I have given thee to the house of Israel.` |
| Ezekiel 12:7 | I did therefore as he had commanded me: I brought forth my goods by day, as the goods of one that removeth: and in the evening I digged through the wall with my hand: and I went forth in the dark, and was carried on men's shoulders in their sight. | And I did as I was ordered: I took out my vessels by day, like those of one who is taken away, and in the evening I made a hole through the wall with a tent-pin; and in the dark I went out, taking my things on my back before their eyes. | And I do so, as I have been commanded; my vessels I have brought forth as vessels of removal by day, and at even I have dug for me through the wall with the hand; in the darkness I have brought forth, on the shoulder I have borne away, before their eyes. |
| Ezekiel 12:8 | And the word of the Lord came to me in the morning, saying: | And in the morning the word of the Lord came to me, saying, | And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, in the morning, saying, |
| Ezekiel 12:9 | Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, the provoking house, said to thee: What art thou doing? | Son of man, has not Israel, the uncontrolled people, said to you, What are you doing? | `Son of man, have they not said unto thee the house of Israel the rebellious house What art thou doing? |
| Ezekiel 12:10 | Say to them: Thus saith the Lord God: This burden concerneth my prince that is in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel, that are among them. | You are to say to them, This is what the Lord has said: This word has to do with the ruler in Jerusalem and all the children of Israel in it. | say unto them, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: `The prince [is] this burden in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel who are in their midst. |
| Ezekiel 12:11 | Say: I am a sign of things to come to you: as I have done, so shall it be done to them: they shall be removed from their dwellings, and go into captivity. | Say, I am your sign: as I have done, so will it be done to them: they will go away as prisoners. | Say: I [am] your type; as I have done so it is done to them, into a removal, into a captivity, they do go. |
| Ezekiel 12:12 | And the prince that is in the midst of them, shall be carried on shoulders, he shall go forth in the dark: they shall dig through the wall to bring him out: his face shall be covered, that he may not see the ground with his eyes. | And the ruler who is among them will take his goods on his back in the dark and go out: he will make a hole in the wall through which to go out: he will have his face covered so that he may not be seen. | As to the prince who [is] in their midst, on the shoulder he beareth in the darkness, and he goeth forth, through the wall they dig to bring forth by it, his face he covereth, that he may not look on the very surface of the land. |
| Ezekiel 12:13 | And I will spread my net over him, and he shall be taken in my net: and I will bring him into Babylon, into the land of the Chaldeans, and he shall not see it, and there he shall die. | And my net will be stretched out on him, and he will be taken in my cords: and I will take him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldaeans; but he will not see it, and there death will come to him. | And I have spread My net for him, and he hath been caught in My snare, and I have brought him in to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, and it he doth not see and there doth he die. |
| Ezekiel 12:14 | And all that are about him, his guards, and his troops I will scatter into every wind: and I will draw out the sword after them. | And all his helpers round about him and all his armies I will send in flight to every wind; and I will let loose a sword after them. | `And all who are round about him to help him, and all his bands, I do scatter to every wind, and a sword I draw out after them. |
| Ezekiel 12:15 | And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall have dispersed them among the nations, and scattered them in the countries. | And they will be certain that I am the Lord, when I send them in flight among the nations, driving them out through the countries. | And they have known that I [am] Jehovah, in My scattering them among nations, and I have spread them through lands; |
| Ezekiel 12:16 | And I will leave a few men of them from the sword, and from the famine, and from the pestilence: that they may declare all their wicked deeds among the nations whither they shall go: and they shall know that I am the Lord. | But a small number of them I will keep from the sword, from the need of food, and from disease, so that they may make clear all their disgusting ways among the nations where they come; and they will be certain that I am the Lord. | and I have left of them, a few in number, from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence, so that they recount all their abominations among the nations whither they have come, and they have known that I [am] Jehovah.` |
| Ezekiel 12:17 | And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: | Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, | And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying, |
| Ezekiel 12:18 | Son of man, eat thy bread in trouble: and drink thy water in hurry and sorrow. | Son of man, take your food with shaking fear, and your water with trouble and care; | `Son of man, thy bread in haste thou dost eat, and thy water with trembling and with fear thou dost drink; |
| Ezekiel 12:19 | And say to the people of the land: Thus saith the Lord God to them that dwell in Jerusalem in the land of Israel: They shall eat their bread in care, and drink their water in desolation: that the land may become desolate from the multitude that is therein, for the iniquity of all that dwell therein. | And say to the people of the land, This is what the Lord has said about the people of Jerusalem and the land of Israel: They will take their food with care and their drink with wonder, so that all the wealth of their land may be taken from it because of the violent ways of the people living in it. | and thou hast said unto the people of the land, Thus said the Lord Jehovah concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem, concerning the land of Israel: Their bread with fear they do eat, and their water with astonishment drink, because its land is desolate, because of its fulness, because of the violence of all who are dwelling in it. |
| Ezekiel 12:20 | And the cities that are now inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be desolate: and you shall know that I am the Lord. | And the peopled towns will be made waste, and the land will become a wonder; and you will be certain that I am the Lord. | And the cities that are inhabited are laid waste, and the land is a desolation, and ye have known that I [am] Jehovah.` |
| Ezekiel 12:21 | And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: | And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, | And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying, |
| Ezekiel 12:22 | Son of man, what is this proverb that you have in the land of Israel? saying: The days shall be prolonged, and every vision shall fail. | Son of man, what is this saying which you have about the land of Israel, The time is long and every vision comes to nothing? | `Son of man, what [is] this simile to you, concerning the land of Israel, saying, Prolonged are the days, and perished hath every vision? |
| Ezekiel 12:23 | Say to them therefore: Thus saith the Lord God: I will make this proverb to cease, neither shall it be any more a common saying in Israel: and tell them that the days are at hand, and the effect of every vision. | For this cause say to them, This is what the Lord has said: I have made this saying come to an end, and it will no longer be used as a common saying in Israel; but say to them, The days are near, and the effect of every vision. | therefore say unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: I have caused this simile to cease, And they use it not as a simile again in Israel, But speak to them: Drawn near have the days, And spoken hath every vision. |
| Ezekiel 12:24 | For there shall be no more any vain visions, nor doubtful divination in the midst of the children of Israel. | For there will be no more false visions or smooth use of secret arts in Israel. | For there is no more any vain vision, and flattering divination, In the midst of the house of Israel. |
| Ezekiel 12:25 | For I the Lord will speak: and what word soever I shall speak, it shall come to pass, and shall not be prolonged any more: but in your days, ye provoking house, I will speak the word, and will do it, saith the Lord God. | For I am the Lord; I will say the word and what I say I will do; it will not be put off: for in your days, O uncontrolled people, I will say the word and do it, says the Lord. | For I [am] Jehovah, I speak, The word that I speak it is done, It is not prolonged any more, For, in your days, O rebellious house, I speak a word, and I have done it, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.` |

| Ezekiel 12:27 | Son of man, behold the house of Israel, they that say: The vision that this man seeth, is for many days to come: and this men prophesieth of times afar off. | Son of man, see, the children of Israel say, The vision which he sees is for the days which are a long way off, and his words are of times still far away. | `Son of man, lo, the house of Israel are saying, The vision that he is seeing [is] for many days, and of times far off he is prophesying, |
| Ezekiel 12:28 | Therefore say to them: Thus saith the Lord God: Not one word of mine shall be prolonged any more: the word that I shall speak shall be accomplished, saith the Lord God. | Say to them then, This is what the Lord has said: Not one of my words will be put off any longer, but what I say I will do, says the Lord. | therefore say unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: None of my words are prolonged any more, When I speak a word it is done, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah!` |
