Acts 9:1And Saul, as yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest,But Saul, still breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, came to the high priestBut Saul, still burning with desire to put to death the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest,
Acts 9:2And asked of him letters to Damascus, to the synagogues: that if he found any men and wemen of this way, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.and asked of him letters to Damascus, to the synagogues, so that if he found any who were of the way, both men and women, he might bring [them] bound to Jerusalem.And made a request for letters from him to the Synagogues of Damascus, so that if there were any of the Way there, men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem.
Acts 9:3And as he went on his journey, it came to pass that he drew nigh to Damascus; and suddenly a light from heaven shined round about him.But as he was journeying, it came to pass that he drew near to Damascus; and suddenly there shone round about him a light out of heaven,And while he was journeying, he came near Damascus; and suddenly he saw a light from heaven shining round him;
Acts 9:4And falling on the ground, he heard a voice saying to him: Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?and falling on the earth he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why dost thou persecute me?And he went down on the earth, and a voice said to him, Saul, Saul, why are you attacking me so cruelly?
Acts 9:5Who said: Who art thou, Lord? And he: I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. It is hard for thee to kick against the goad.And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And he [said], *I* am Jesus, whom *thou* persecutest.And he said, Who are you, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus, whom you are attacking:
Acts 9:6And he trembling and astonished, said: Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?But rise up and enter into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.But get up, and go into the town, and it will be made clear to you what you have to do.
Acts 9:7And the Lord said to him: Arise, and go into the city, and there it shall be told thee what thou must do. Now the men who went in company with him, stood amazed, hearing indeed a voice, but seeing no man.But the men who were travelling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but beholding no one.And the men who were with him were not able to say anything; hearing the voice, but seeing no one.
Acts 9:8And Saul arose from the ground; and when his eyes were opened, he saw nothing. But they leading him by the hands, brought him to Damascus.And Saul rose up from the earth, and his eyes being opened he saw no one. But leading [him] by the hand they brought him into Damascus.And Saul got up from the earth, and when his eyes were open, he saw nothing; and he was guided by the hand into Damascus.
Acts 9:9And he was there three days, without sight, and he did neither eat nor drink.And he was three days without seeing, and neither ate nor drank.And for three days he was not able to see, and he took no food or drink.
Acts 9:10Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias. And the Lord said to him in a vision: Ananias. And he said: Behold I am here, Lord.And there was a certain disciple in Damascus by name Ananias. And the Lord said to him in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, [here am] I, Lord.Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and the Lord said to him in a vision, Ananias! and he said, Here I am, Lord.
Acts 9:11And the Lord said to him: Arise, and go into the street that is called Stait, and seek in the house of Judas, one named Saul of Tarsus. For behold he prayeth.And the Lord [said] to him, Rise up and go into the street which is called Straight, and seek in the house of Judas one by name Saul, [he is] of Tarsus: for, behold, he is praying,And the Lord said to him, Get up, and go to the street which is named Straight, and make search at the house of Judas for one named Saul of Tarsus: for he is at prayer;
Acts 9:12(And he saw a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hands upon him, that he might receive his sight.)and has seen [in a vision] a man by name Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he should see.And he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hands on him, so that he may be able to see.
Acts 9:13But Ananias answered: Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints in Jerusalem.And Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard from many concerning this man how much evil he has done to thy saints at Jerusalem;But Ananias said, Lord, I have had accounts of this man from a number of people, how much evil he has done to your saints at Jerusalem:
Acts 9:14And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that invoke thy name.and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call upon thy name.And here he has authority from the chief priests to make prisoners all who give worship to your name.
Acts 9:15And the Lord said to him: Go thy way; for this man is to me a vessel of election, to carry my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel.And the Lord said to him, Go, for this [man] is an elect vessel to me, to bear my name before both nations and kings and [the] sons of Israel:But the Lord said, Go without fear: for he is a special vessel for me, to give to the Gentiles and kings and to the children of Israel the knowledge of my name:
Acts 9:16For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.for *I* will shew to him how much he must suffer for my name.For I will make clear to him what troubles he will have to undergo for me.
Acts 9:17And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house. And laying his hands upon him, he said: Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus hath sent me, he that appeared to thee in the way as thou camest; that thou mayest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.And Ananias went and entered into the house; and laying his hands upon him he said, Saul, brother, the Lord has sent me, Jesus that appeared to thee in the way in which thou camest, that thou mightest see, and be filled with [the] Holy Spirit.And Ananias went out and came to the house, and putting his hands on him, said, Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, whom you saw when you were on your journey, has sent me, so that you may be able to see, and be full of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 9:18And immediately there fell from his eyes as it were scales, and he received his sight; and rising up, he was baptized.And straightway there fell from his eyes as it were scales, and he saw, and rising up was baptised;And straight away it seemed as if a veil was taken from his eyes, and he was able to see; and he got up, and had baptism;
Acts 9:19And when he had taken meat, he was strengthened. And he was with the disciples that were at Damascus, for some days.and, having received food, got strength. And he was with the disciples who [were] in Damascus certain days.And when he had taken food his strength came back. And for some days he kept with the disciples who were in Damascus.
Acts 9:20And immediately he preached Jesus in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.And straightway in the synagogues he preached Jesus that *he* is the Son of God.And straight away, in the Synagogues, he was preaching Jesus as the Son of God.
Acts 9:21And all that heard him, were astonished, and said: Is not this he who persecuted in Jerusalem those that called upon this name: and came hither for that intent, that he might carry them bound to the chief priests?And all who heard were astonished and said, Is not this *he* who destroyed in Jerusalem those who called on this name, and here was come for this purpose, that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?And all those hearing him were full of wonder and said, Is not this the man who in Jerusalem was attacking all the worshippers of this name? and he had come here so that he might take them as prisoners before the chief priests.
Acts 9:22But Saul increased much more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt at Damascus, affirming that this is the Christ.But Saul increased the more in power, and confounded the Jews who dwelt in Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.But Saul went on increasing in power, and the Jews in Damascus were not able to give answers to the arguments by which he made it clear that Jesus was the Christ.
Acts 9:23And when many days were passed, the Jews consulted together to kill him.Now when many days were fulfilled, the Jews consulted together to kill him.Then, after some days, the Jews made an agreement together to put him to death:
Acts 9:24But their laying in wait was made known to Saul. And they watched the gates also day and night, that they might kill him.But their plot became known to Saul. And they watched also the gates both day and night, that they might kill him;But Saul got knowledge of their design. And they kept watch day and night on the roads out of the town, so that they might put him to death:
Acts 9:25But the disciples taking him in the night, conveyed him away by the wall, letting him down in a basket.but the disciples took him by night and let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket.But his disciples took him by night and let him down from the wall in a basket.
Acts 9:26And when he was come into Jerusalem, he essayed to join himself to the disciples; and they all were afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.And having arrived at Jerusalem he essayed to join himself to the disciples, and all were afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.And when he came to Jerusalem, he made an attempt to be joined to the disciples, but they were all in fear of him, not taking him for a disciple.
Acts 9:27But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and told them how he had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken to him; and how in Damascus he had dealt confidently in the name of Jesus.But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles, and related to them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had spoken boldly in the name of Jesus.But Barnabas took him to the Apostles and gave them an account of how he had seen the Lord on the road, and had given hearing to his words, and how at Damascus he had been preaching in the name of Jesus without fear.
Acts 9:28And he was with them coming in and going out in Jerusalem, and dealing confidently in the name of the Lord.And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem,And he was with them, going in and out at Jerusalem,
Acts 9:29He spoke also to the Gentiles, and disputed with the Greeks; but they sought to kill him.and speaking boldly in the name of the Lord. And he spoke and discussed with the Hellenists; but they sought to kill him.Preaching in the name of the Lord without fear; and he had discussions with the Greek Jews; but they were working for his death.
Acts 9:30Which when the brethren had known, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him away to Tarsus.And the brethren knowing it, brought him down to Caesarea and sent him away to Tarsus.And when the brothers had knowledge of it, they took him to Caesarea and sent him to Tarsus.
Acts 9:31Now the church had peace throughout all Judea, and Galilee, and Samaria; and was edified, walking in the fear of the Lord, and was filled with the consolation of the Holy Ghost.The assemblies then throughout the whole of Judaea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, being edified and walking in the fear of the Lord, and were increased through the comfort of the Holy Spirit.And so the church through all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was made strong; and, living in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, was increased greatly.
Acts 9:32And it came to pass that Peter, as he passed through, visiting all, came to the saints who dwelt at Lydda.Now it came to pass that Peter, passing through all [quarters], descended also to the saints who inhabited Lydda.And it came about that while Peter was going through all parts of the country he came to the saints who were living at Lydda.
Acts 9:33And he found there a certain man named Eneas, who had kept his bed for eight years, who was ill of the palsy.And he found there a certain man, Aeneas by name, who had been lying for eight years upon a couch, who was paralysed.And there was a certain man there, named Aeneas, who for eight years had been in bed, without power of moving.
Acts 9:34And Peter said to him: Eneas, the Lord Jesus Christ healeth thee: arise, and make thy bed. And immediately he arose.And Peter said to him, Aeneas, Jesus, the Christ, heals thee: rise up, and make thy couch for thyself. And straightway he rose up.And Peter said to him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ makes you well: get up and make your bed. And straight away he got up.
Acts 9:35And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron, saw him: who were converted to the Lord.And all who inhabited Lydda and the Saron saw him, who turned to the Lord.And all those living in Lydda and Sharon saw him, and were turned to the Lord.
Acts 9:36And in Joppe there was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.And in Joppa there was a certain female disciple, by name Tabitha, which being interpreted means Dorcas. She was full of good works and alms-deeds which she did.Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, that is, Dorcas: this woman was given to good works and acts of mercy at all times.
Acts 9:37And it came to pass in those days that she was sick, and died. Whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.And it came to pass in those days that she grew sick and died; and, having washed her, they put her in [the] upper room.And it came about, in those days, that she got ill and came to her death: and when she had been washed, they put her in a room which was high up.
Acts 9:38And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppe, the disciples hearing that Peter was there, sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not be slack to come unto them.But Lydda being near to Joppa, the disciples having heard that Peter was there, sent two men to him, beseeching him, Thou must not delay coming to us.And because Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, having knowledge that Peter was there, sent two men to him, requesting him to come to them straight away.
Acts 9:39And Peter rising up, went with them. And when he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber. And all the widows stood about him weeping, and shewing him the coats and garments which Dorcas made them.And Peter rising up went with them, whom, when arrived, they brought up into the upper chamber; and all the widows stood by him weeping and shewing him the body-coats and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.And Peter went with them. And when he had come, they took him into the room: and all the widows were there, weeping and putting before him the coats and clothing which Dorcas had made while she was with them.
Acts 9:40And they all being put forth, Peter kneeling down prayed, and turning to the body, he said: Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes; and seeing Peter, she sat up.But Peter, putting them all out, and kneeling down, prayed. And, turning to the body, he said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes, and, seeing Peter, sat up.But Peter made them all go outside, and went down on his knees in prayer; and turning to the body, he said, Tabitha, get up. And, opening her eyes, she saw Peter and got up.
Acts 9:41And giving her his hand, he lifted her up. And when he had called the saints and the widows, he presented her alive.And having given her [his] hand, he raised her up, and having called the saints and the widows, presented her living.And he took her hand, lifting her up; and, sending for the saints and widows, he gave her to them, living.
Acts 9:42And it was made known throughout all Joppe; and many believed in the Lord.And it became known throughout the whole of Joppa, and many believed on the Lord.And news of it went all through Joppa, and a number of people had faith in the Lord.
Acts 9:43And it came to pass, that he abode many days in Joppe, with one Simon a tanner.And it came to pass that he remained many days in Joppa with a certain Simon, a tanner.And he was living in Joppa for some time with Simon, a leather-worker.
