Mark 2:1And again he entered into Capharnaum after some days. And he entered again into Capernaum after [several] days, and it was reported that he was at [the] house; And when he came into Capernaum again after some days, the news went about that he was in the house.
Mark 2:2And it was heard that he was in the house, and many came together, so that there was no room; no, not even at the door; and he spoke to them the word.and straightway many were gathered together, so that there was no longer any room, not even at the door; and he spoke the word to them. And a great number had come together, so that there was no longer room for them, no, not even about the door: and he gave them teaching.
Mark 2:3And they came to him, bringing one sick of the palsy, who was carried by four. And there come to him [men] bringing a paralytic, borne by four; And four men came to him with one on a bed who had no power of moving.
Mark 2:4And when they could not offer him unto him for the multitude, they uncovered the roof where he was; and opening it, they let down the bed wherein the man sick of the palsy lay.and, not being able to get near to him on account of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was, and having dug [it] up they let down the couch on which the paralytic lay.And when they were unable to get near him because of all the people, they got the roof uncovered where he was: and when it was broken up, they let down the bed on which the man was.
Mark 2:5And when Jesus had seen their faith, he saith to the sick of the palsy: Son, thy sins are forgiven thee. But Jesus, seeing their faith, says to the paralytic, Child, thy sins are forgiven [thee].And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to him, Son, you have forgiveness for your sins.
Mark 2:6And there were some of the scribes sitting there, and thinking in their hearts:But certain of the scribes were there sitting, and reasoning in their hearts,But there were certain of the scribes seated there, and reasoning in their hearts,
Mark 2:7Why doth this man speak thus? he blasphemeth. Who can forgive sins, but God only? Why does this [man] thus speak? he blasphemes. Who is able to forgive sins except God alone? Why does this man say such things? he has no respect for God: from whom does forgiveness come but from God only?
Mark 2:8Which Jesus presently knowing in his spirit, that they so thought within themselves, saith to them: Why think you these things in your hearts? And straightway Jesus, knowing in his spirit that they are reasoning thus within themselves, said to them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? And Jesus, having knowledge in his spirit of their thoughts, said to them, Why are you reasoning about these things in your hearts?
Mark 2:9Which is easier, to say to the sick of the palsy: Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say: Arise, take up thy bed, and walk?Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, [Thy] sins are forgiven [thee]; or to say, Arise, and take up thy couch and walk?Which is the simpler, to say to a man who is ill, You have forgiveness for your sins, or, Get up, take up your bed, and go?
Mark 2:10But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, he says to the paralytic,But so that you may see that the Son of man has authority for the forgiveness of sins on earth, (he said to the man,)
Mark 2:11I say to thee: Arise, take up thy bed, and go into thy house. To thee I say, Arise, take up thy couch and go to thine house.I say to you, Get up, take up your bed, and go to your house.
Mark 2:12And immediately he arose; and taking up his bed, went his way in the sight of all; so that all wondered and glorified God, saying: We never saw the like. And he rose up straightway, and, having taken up his couch, went out before [them] all, so that all were amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it thus. And he got up, and straight away took up the bed and went out before them all, so that they were all full of wonder, and gave glory to God, saying, We have never seen anything like this.
Mark 2:13And he went forth again to the sea side; and all the multitude came to him, and he taught them. And he went out again by the sea, and all the crowd came to him, and he taught them. And he went out again by the seaside; and all the people came to him, and he gave them teaching.
Mark 2:14And when he was passing by, he saw Levi the son of Alpheus sitting at the receipt of custom; and he saith to him: Follow me. And rising up, he followed him.And passing by, he saw Levi the [son] of Alphaeus sitting at the tax-office, and says to him, Follow me. And he rose up and followed him.And when he went by, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, seated at the place where taxes were taken, and he said to him, Come with me. And he got up, and went with him.
Mark 2:15And it came to pass, that as he sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat down together with Jesus and his disciples. For they were many, who also followed him.And it came to pass as he lay at table in his house, that many tax-gatherers and sinners lay at table with Jesus and his disciples; for they were many, and they followed him.And it came about that he was seated at meat in his house, and a number of tax-farmers and sinners were at table with Jesus and his disciples: for there were a great number of them, and they came after him.
Mark 2:16And the scribes and the Pharisees, seeing that he ate with publicans and sinners, said to his disiples: Why doth your master eat and drink with publicans and sinners? And the scribes and the Pharisees, seeing him eating with sinners and tax-gatherers, said to his disciples, Why [is it] that he eats and drinks with tax-gatherers and sinners? And the scribes of the Pharisees, when they saw that he was taking food with the tax-farmers and sinners, said to his disciples, Why does he take food and drink with such men?
Mark 2:17Jesus hearing this, saith to them: They that are well have no need of a physician, but they that are sick. For I came not to call the just, but sinners. And Jesus having heard [it] says to them, They that are strong have not need of a physician, but those who are ill. I have not come to call righteous [men], but sinners. And Jesus, hearing it, said to them, Those who are well have no need of a medical man, but those who are ill: I have come not to get the upright but sinners.
Mark 2:18And the disiples of John and the Pharisees used to fast; and they come and say to him: Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast; but thy disciples do not fast? And the disciples of John and the Pharisees were fasting; and they come and say to him, Why do the disciples of John and [the disciples] of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?And John's disciples and the Pharisees were taking no food: and they came and said to him, Why do John's disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees go without food, but your disciples do not?
Mark 2:19And Jesus saith to them: Can the children of the marriage fast, as long as the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. And Jesus said to them, Can the sons of the bride-chamber fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast. And Jesus said to them, Will the friends of a newly-married man go without food while he is with them? as long as they have him with them they will not go without food.
Mark 2:20But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them; and then they shall fast in those days. But days will come when the bridegroom shall have been taken away from them, and then shall they fast in that day.But the days will come when the husband will be taken away from them, and then they will go without food.
Mark 2:21No man seweth a piece of raw cloth to an old garment: otherwise the new piecing taketh away from the old, and there is made a greater rent.No one sews a patch of new cloth on an old garment: otherwise its new filling-up takes from the old [stuff], and there is a worse rent.No man puts a bit of new cloth on an old coat: or the new, by pulling away from the old, makes a worse hole.
Mark 2:22And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: otherwise the wine will burst the bottles, and both the wine will be spilled, and the bottles will be lost. But new wine must be put into new bottles. And no one puts new wine into old skins; otherwise the wine bursts the skins, and the wine is poured out, and the skins will be destroyed; but new wine is to be put into new skins. And no man puts new wine into old wine-skins: or the skins will be burst by the wine, and the wine and the skins will be wasted: but new wine has to be put into new wine-skins.
Mark 2:23And it came to pass again, as the Lord walked through the corn fields on the sabbath, that his disciples began to go forward, and to pluck the ears of corn. And it came to pass that he went on the sabbath through the cornfields; and his disciples began to walk on, plucking the ears. And it came about that on the Sabbath day he was going through the grain-fields; and while they were walking, his disciples took the heads of grain.
Mark 2:24And the Pharisees said to him: Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? And the Pharisees said to him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath what is not lawful? And the Pharisees said to him, Why are they doing what it is not right to do on the Sabbath?
Mark 2:25And he said to them: Have you never read what David did when he had need, and was hungry himself, and they that were with him?And *he* said to them, Have ye never read what David did when he had need and hungered, *he* and those with him,And he said to them, Have you no knowledge of what David did, when he had need and was without food, he, and those who were with him?
Mark 2:26How he went into the house of God, under Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the loaves of proposition, which was not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave to them who were with him?how he entered into the house of God, in [the section of] Abiathar [the] high priest, and ate the shew-bread, which it is not lawful unless for the priests to eat, and gave even to those that were with him?How he went into the house of God when Abiathar was high priest, and took for food the holy bread, which only the priests may take, and gave it to those who were with him?
Mark 2:27And he said to them: The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath.And he said to them, The sabbath was made on account of man, not man on account of the sabbath;And he said to them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath;
Mark 2:28Therefore the Son of man is Lord of the sabbath also.so that the Son of man is lord of the sabbath also.So that the Son of man is lord even of the Sabbath.
