| Numbers 32:1 | And the sons of Ruben and Gad had many flocks of cattle, and their substance in beasts was infinite. And when they saw the lands of Jazer and Galaad fit for feeding cattle, | And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had much cattle, a very great multitude; and they saw the land of Jaazer, and the land of Gilead, and behold, the place was a place for cattle. | Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a great number of cattle: and when they saw that the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead was a good place for cattle; |
| Numbers 32:2 | They came to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and the princes of the multitude, and said: | And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben came and spoke to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the princes of the assembly, saying, | The children of Gad and the children of Reuben came and said to Moses and to Eleazar the priest and to the chiefs of the meeting, |

| Numbers 32:4 | The land, which the Lord hath conquered in the sight of the children of Israel, is a very fertile soil for the feeding of beasts: and we thy servants have very much cattle: | the country that Jehovah smote before the assembly of Israel, is a land for cattle, and thy servants have cattle; | The land which the Lord gave into the hands of the children of Israel, is a land for cattle, and your servants have cattle. |
| Numbers 32:5 | And we pray thee, if we have found favour in thy sight, that thou give it to us thy servants in possession, and make us not pass over the Jordan. | and they said, If we have found favour in thine eyes, let this land be given to thy servants for a possession: bring us not over the Jordan. | And they said, With your approval, let this land be given to your servants as their heritage: do not take us over Jordan. |
| Numbers 32:6 | And Moses answered them: What, shall your brethren go to fight, and will you sit here? | And Moses said to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall *ye* abide here? | And Moses said to the children of Gad and the children of Reuben, Are your brothers to go to the war, while you take your rest here? |
| Numbers 32:7 | Why do ye overturn the minds of the children of Israel, that they may not dare to pass into the place which the Lord hath given them? | And why do ye discourage the children of Israel from going over into the land that Jehovah has given them? | Why would you take from the children of Israel the desire to go over into the land which the Lord has given them? |
| Numbers 32:8 | Was it not thus your fathers did, when I sent from Cadesbarne to view the land? | Thus did your fathers, when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to see the land: | So did your fathers, when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to see the land. |
| Numbers 32:9 | And when they were come as far as the valley of the cluster, having viewed all the country, they overturned the hearts of the children of Israel, that they should not enter into the coasts, which the Lord gave them. | they went up to the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, and discouraged the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land that Jehovah had given them. | For when they went up to the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they took from the children of Israel the desire to go into the land which the Lord had given them. |
| Numbers 32:10 | And he swore in his anger, saying:. | And Jehovah's anger was kindled the same time, and he swore, saying, | And at that time the Lord was moved to wrath, and made an oath, saying, |
| Numbers 32:11 | If these men, that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land, which I promised with an oath to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: because they would not follow me, | If the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land that I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob! for they have not wholly followed me; | Truly, not one of the men of twenty years old and over who came out of Egypt will see the land which I gave by oath to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; because they have not been true to me with all their heart; |
| Numbers 32:12 | Except Caleb the son of Jephone the Cenezite, and Josue the son of Nun: these have fulfilled my will. | save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua the son of Nun; for they have wholly followed Jehovah. | But only Caleb, the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua, the son of Nun: because they have been true to the Lord. |
| Numbers 32:13 | And the Lord being angry against Israel, led them about through the desert forty years, until the whole generation, that had done evil in his sight, was consumed. | And Jehovah's anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the whole generation was consumed that had done evil in the eyes of Jehovah. | Then the Lord was angry with Israel, and he made them wanderers in the waste land for forty years? till all that generation who had done evil in the eyes of the Lord was dead. |
| Numbers 32:14 | And behold, said he, you are risen up instead of your fathers, the increase and offspring of sinful men, to augment the fury of the Lord against Israel. | And behold, ye are risen up in your fathers' stead, a progeny of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of Jehovah toward Israel. | And now you have come to take the place of your fathers, another generation of sinners, increasing the wrath of the Lord against Israel. |
| Numbers 32:15 | For if you will not follow him, he will leave the people in the wilderness, end you shall be the cause of the destruction of all. | If ye turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and ye shall destroy all this people. | For if you are turned away from him, he will send them wandering again in the waste land; and you will be the cause of the destruction of all this people. |
| Numbers 32:16 | But they coming near, said: We will make sheepfolds, and stalls for our cattle, and strong cities for our children : | And they drew near to him, and said, We will build sheepfolds here for our cattle, and cities for our little ones; | Then they came to him, and said, We will make safe places for our cattle here, and towns for our little ones; |
| Numbers 32:17 | And we ourselves will go armed and ready for battle before the children of Israel, until we bring them in unto their places. Our little ones, and all we have, shall be in walled cities, for fear of the ambushes of the inhabitants. | but we ourselves will go with diligence armed before the children of Israel, until we have brought them to their place; and our little ones shall dwell in the strong cities because of the inhabitants of the land. | But we ourselves will be ready armed to go before the children of Israel till we have taken them to their place: but our little ones will be safe in the walled towns against the people of the land. |
| Numbers 32:18 | We will not return into our houses until the children of Israel possess their inheritance: | We will not return to our houses, until the children of Israel have inherited each one his inheritance. | We will not come back to our houses till every one of the children of Israel has come into his heritage. |
| Numbers 32:19 | Neither will we seek any thing beyond the Jordan, because we have already our possession on the east side thereof, | For we will not inherit with them on yonder side the Jordan, and further, because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side the Jordan eastward. | For we will not have our heritage with them on the other side of Jordan and forward; because our heritage has come to us on this side of Jordan to the east. |
| Numbers 32:20 | And Moses said to them: If you do what you promise, go on well appointed for war before the Lord: | And Moses said to them, If ye do this thing, if ye arm yourselves before Jehovah for war, | Then Moses said to them, If you will do this, arming yourselves to go before the Lord to the war, |
| Numbers 32:21 | And let every fighting man pass over the Jordan, until the Lord overthrow his enemies : | and all of you that are armed go over the Jordan before Jehovah, until he have dispossessed his enemies from before him, | Every armed man of you going across Jordan before the Lord till he has overcome and sent in flight all who are against him, |
| Numbers 32:22 | And all the land be brought under him, then shall you be blameless before the Lord and before Israel, and you shall obtain the countries that you desire, before the Lord. | and the land is subdued before Jehovah, and afterwards ye return, ye shall be guiltless toward Jehovah and toward Israel, and this land shall be your possession before Jehovah. | And the land is under the rule of the Lord: then after that you may come back, having done no wrong to the Lord and to Israel; and this land will be yours for your heritage before the Lord. |
| Numbers 32:23 | But if you do not what you say, no man can doubt but you sin against God: and know ye, that your sin shall overtake you. | But if ye do not do so, behold, ye have sinned against Jehovah, and be sure your sin will find you out. | But if you do not do this, then you are sinners against the Lord; and you may be certain that your sin will have its reward. |
| Numbers 32:24 | Build therefore cities for your children, and folds and stalls for your sheep and beasts, and accomplish what you have promised. | Build yourselves cities for your little ones, and folds for your flocks, and do that which has gone out of your mouth. | So get to work building your towns for your little ones, and safe places for your sheep; and do as you have said. |
| Numbers 32:25 | And the children of Gad and Ruben said to Moses: We are thy servants, we will do what my lord commandeth. | And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben spoke to Moses, saying, Thy servants will do as my lord commands. | And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben said to Moses, Your servants will do as my lord says. |
| Numbers 32:26 | We will leave our children, and our wives and sheep and cattle, in the cities of Galaad: | Our little ones, our wives, our cattle, and all our beasts shall be there in the cities of Gilead; | Our little ones, our wives, and our flocks, and all our cattle, will be there in the towns of Gilead; |
| Numbers 32:27 | And we thy servants all well appointed will march on to the war, as thou, my lord, speakest. | but thy servants will pass over, every one armed for war, before Jehovah to battle, as my lord says. | But your servants will go over, every man armed for war, before the Lord to the fight, as my lord says. |
| Numbers 32:28 | Moses therefore commanded Eleazar the priest, and Josue the son of Nun, and the princes of the families of all the tribes of Israel, and said to them: | So concerning them Moses commanded Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel. | So Moses gave orders about them to Eleazar the priest and to Joshua, the son of Nun, and to the heads of families of the tribes of the children of Israel. |
| Numbers 32:29 | If the children of Gad, and the children of Ruben pass with you over the Jordan, all armed for war before the Lord, and the land be made subject to you: give them Galaad in possession. | And Moses said unto them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben pass with you over the Jordan, every one armed for battle, before Jehovah, and the land be subdued before you, then ye shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession; | And Moses said to them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben go with you over Jordan, every man armed for the fight before the Lord, and all the land is given into your hands, then let them have the land of Gilead for a heritage: |
| Numbers 32:30 | But if they will not pass armed with you into the land of Chanaan, let them receive places to dwell in among you. | but if they do not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan. | But if they do not go over with you armed, they will have to take their heritage with you in the land of Canaan. |
| Numbers 32:31 | And the children of Gad, and the children of Ruben answered: As the Lord hath spoken to his servants, so will we do: | And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, As Jehovah has said to thy servants, so will we do. | Then the children of Gad and the children of Reuben said, As the Lord has said to your servants, so will we do. |
| Numbers 32:32 | We will go armed before the Lord into the land of Chanaan, and we confess that we have already received our possession beyond the Jordan. | We will pass over armed before Jehovah into the land of Canaan, and the possession of our inheritance on this side the Jordan shall be ours. | We will go over armed before the Lord into the land of Canaan, and you will give us our heritage on this side of Jordan. |
| Numbers 32:33 | Moses therefore gave to the children of Cad and of Ruben, and to the half tribe of Manasses the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sehon king of the Amorrhites, and the kingdom of Og king of Basan, and their land and the cities thereof round about. | And Moses gave to them, to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and to half the tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og the king of Bashan, the land, according to its cities and territories, the cities of the land round about. | So Moses gave to them, even to the children of Gad and the children of Reuben and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon, king of the Amorites and Og, king of Bashan, all the land with its towns and the country round them. |
| Numbers 32:34 | And the sons of Cad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer, | And the children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer, | And the children of Gad were the builders of Dibon and Ataroth and Aroer; |
| Numbers 32:35 | And Etroth, and Sophan, and Jazer, and Jegbaa, | and Atroth-Shophan, and Jaazer, and Jogbebah, | And Atroth-shophan and Jazer and Jogbehah; |
| Numbers 32:36 | And Bethnemra, and Betharan, fenced cities, and folds for their cattle. | and Beth-Nimrah, and Beth-haran, strong cities, and sheepfolds. | And Beth-nimrah and Beth-haran: walled towns and shut-in places for sheep. |
| Numbers 32:37 | But the children of Ruben built Hesebon, and Eleale, and Cariathaim, | And the children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elaleh, and Kirjathaim, | And the children of Reuben were the builders of Heshbon and Elealeh and Kiriathaim; |
| Numbers 32:38 | And Nabo, and Baalmeon (their names being changed) and Sabama: giving names to the cities which they had built. | and Nebo, and Baal-meon (of which the names were changed), and Sibmah; and they gave other names to the cities that they built. | And Nebo and Baal-meon, (their names being changed,) and Sibmah: and they gave other names to the towns they made. |
| Numbers 32:39 | Moreover the children of Machir, the son of Manasses, went into Galaad, and wasted it, cutting off the Amorrhites, the inhabitants thereof. | And the children of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead, and took it, and they dispossessed the Amorites that were therein. | And the children of Machir, the son of Manasseh, went to Gilead and took it, driving out the Amorites who were living there. |
| Numbers 32:40 | And Moses gave the land of Galaad to Machir the son of Manasses, and he dwelt in it. | And Moses gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh; and he dwelt therein. | And Moses gave Gilead to Machir, the son of Manasseh; and he made it his living-place. |
| Numbers 32:41 | And Jair the son of Manasses went, and took the villages thereof, and he called them Havoth Jair, that is to say, the villages of Jair. | And Jair the son of Manasseh went and took their hamlets, and called them Havoth-Jair. | And Jair, the son of Manasseh, went and took the towns of Gilead, naming them Havvoth-Jair. |
| Numbers 32:42 | Nobe also went, and took Canath with the villages thereof: and he called it by his own name, Nobe. | And Nobah went and took Kenath, and its dependent villages, and called it Nobah, after his name. | And Nobah went and took Kenath and its small towns, naming it Nobah, after himself. |
