| John 8:3 | And the scribes and the Pharisees bring unto him a woman taken in adultery: and they set her in the midst, | And the scribes and the Pharisees bring [to him] a woman taken in adultery, and having set her in the midst, | and was teaching them when the Scribes and the Pharisees brought to Him a woman who had been found committing adultery. They made her stand in the centre of the court, and they put the case to Him. |
| John 8:4 | And said to him: Master, this woman was even now taken in adultery. | they say to him, Teacher, this woman has been taken in the very act, committing adultery. | "Rabbi," they said, "this woman has been found in the very act of committing adultery. |

But Jesus bowing himself down, wrote with his finger on the ground. | But this they said proving him, that they might have [something] to accuse him [of]. But Jesus, having stooped down, wrote with his finger on the ground. | They asked this in order to put Him to the test, so that they might have some charge to bring against Him. But Jesus leant forward and began to write with His finger on the ground. |
| John 8:7 | When therefore they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said to them: He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. | But when they continued asking him, he lifted himself up and said to them, Let him that is without sin among you first cast the stone at her. | When however they persisted with their question, He raised His head and said to them, "Let the sinless man among you be the first to throw a stone at her." |

"If you were Abraham's children," replied Jesus, "it is Abraham's deeds that you would be doing. |
| John 8:40 | But now you seek to kill me, a man who have spoken the truth to you, which I have heard of God. This Abraham did not. | but now ye seek to kill me, a man who has spoken the truth to you, which I have heard from God: this did not Abraham. | But, in fact, you are longing to kill me, a man who has spoken to you the truth which I have heard from God. Abraham did not do that. |
| John 8:41 | You do the works of your father. They said therefore to him: We are not born of fornication: we have one Father, even God. | Ye do the works of your father. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof. | Ye are of the devil, as [your] father, and ye desire to do the lusts of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. | John 8:46 | Which of you shall convince me of sin? If I say the truth to you, why do you not believe me? | Which of you convinces me of sin? If I speak truth, why do ye not believe me? | Which of *you* convicts me of sin? If I speak the truth, why do you not believe me? |

Therefore you hear them not, because you are not of God. | He that is of God hears the words of God: therefore ye hear [them] not, because ye are not of God. | He who is a child of God listens to God's words.
