Luke 17:1And he said to his disciples: It is impossible that scandals should not come: but woe to him through whom they come.And he said to his disciples, It cannot be but that offences come, but woe [to him] by whom they come!Jesus said to His disciples, "It is inevitable that causes of stumbling should come; but alas for him through whom they come!
Luke 17:2It were better for him, that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should scandalize one of these little ones.It would be [more] profitable for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck and he cast into the sea, than that he should be a snare to one of these little ones.It would be well for him if, with a millstone round his neck, he were lying at the bottom of the sea, rather than that he should cause even one of these little ones to fall.
Luke 17:3Take heed to yourselves. If thy brother sin against thee, reprove him: and if he do penance, forgive him.Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother should sin, rebuke him; and if he should repent, forgive him.Be on your guard. "If your brother acts wrongly, reprove him; and if he is sorry, forgive him;
Luke 17:4And if he sin against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day be converted unto thee, saying, I repent; forgive him.And if he should sin against thee seven times in the day, and seven times should return to thee, saying, I repent, thou shalt forgive him.and if seven times in a day he acts wrongly towards you, and seven times turns again to you and says, `I am sorry,' you must forgive him."
Luke 17:5And the apostles said to the Lord: Increase our faith.And the apostles said to the Lord, Give more faith to us.And the Apostles said to the Lord, "Give us faith."
Luke 17:6And the Lord said: If you had faith like to a grain of mustard seed, you might say to this mulberry tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou transplanted into the sea: and it would obey you.But the Lord said, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard [seed], ye had said to this sycamine tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou planted in the sea, and it would have obeyed you."If your faith," replied the Lord, "is like a mustard seed, you might command this black-mulberry-tree, `Tear up your roots and plant yourself in the sea,' and instantly it would obey you.
Luke 17:7But which of you having a servant ploughing, or feeding cattle, will say to him, when he is come from the field: Immediately go, sit down to meat:But which of you [is there] who, having a bondman ploughing or shepherding, when he comes in out of the field, will say, Come and lie down immediately to table?But which of you who has a servant ploughing, or tending sheep, will say to him when he comes in from the farm, `Come at once and take your place at table,'
Luke 17:8And will not rather say to him: Make ready my supper, and gird thyself, and serve me, whilst I eat and drink, and afterwards thou shalt eat and drink?But will he not say to him, Prepare what I shall sup on, and gird thyself and serve me that I may eat and drink; and after that *thou* shalt eat and drink?and will not rather say to him, `Get my dinner ready, make yourself tidy, and wait upon me till I have finished my dinner, and then you shall have yours'?
Luke 17:9Doth he thank that servant, for doing the things which he commanded him?Is he thankful to the bondman because he has done what was ordered? I judge not.Does he thank the servant for obeying his orders?
Luke 17:10I think not. So you also, when you shall have done all these things that are commanded you, say: We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which we ought to do.Thus *ye* also, when ye shall have done all things that have been ordered you, say, We are unprofitable bondmen; we have done what it was our duty to do.So you also, when you have obeyed all the orders given you, must say, "`There is no merit in our service: what we have done is only what we were in duty bound to do.'"

Luke 17:17And Jesus answering, said, Were not ten made clean? and where are the nine?And Jesus answering said, Were not the ten cleansed? but the nine, where [are they]?"Were not all ten made clean?" Jesus asked; "but where are the nine?

Luke 17:19And he said to him: Arise, go thy way; for thy faith hath made thee whole.And he said to him, Rise up and go thy way: thy faith has made thee well.And He said to him, "Rise and go: your faith has cured you."

Luke 17:21Neither shall they say: Behold here, or behold there. For lo, the kingdom of God is within you.nor shall they say, Lo here, or, Lo there; for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.Nor will they say, `See here!' or `See there!' for the Kingdom of God is within you."

Luke 17:28Likewise as it came to pass, in the days of Lot: they did eat and drink, they bought and sold, they planted and built.and in like manner as took place in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;The same was true in the time of Lot: they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building;
