2nd-Corinthians 1:1Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother: to the church of God that is at Corinth, with all the saints that are in all Achaia:Paul, apostle of Jesus Christ by God's will, and the brother Timotheus, to the assembly of God which is in Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia.Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:
2nd-Corinthians 1:2Grace unto you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2nd-Corinthians 1:3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort.Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassions, and God of all encouragement;Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort;
2nd-Corinthians 1:4Who comforteth us in all our tribulation; that we also may be able to comfort them who are in all distress, by the exhortation wherewith we also are exhorted by God.who encourages us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to encourage those who are in any tribulation whatever, through the encouragement with which we ourselves are encouraged of God.who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2nd-Corinthians 1:5For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us: so also by Christ doth our comfort abound.Because, even as the sufferings of the Christ abound towards us, so through the Christ does our encouragement also abound.For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ.
2nd-Corinthians 1:6Now whether we be in tribulation, it is for your exhortation and salvation: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation: or whether we be exhorted, it is for your exhortation and salvation, which worketh the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer.But whether we are in tribulation, [it is] for your encouragement and salvation, wrought in the endurance of the same sufferings which *we* also suffer,But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which works in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer.
2nd-Corinthians 1:7That our hope for you may be steadfast: knowing that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so shall you be also of the consolation.(and our hope for you [is] sure;) or whether we are encouraged, [it is] for your encouragement and salvation: knowing that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so also of the encouragement.Our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that, since you are partakers of the sufferings, so also are you of the comfort.
2nd-Corinthians 1:8For we would not have you ignorant,brethren, of our tribulation, which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure above our strength, so that we were weary even of life.For we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, as to our tribulation which happened [to us] in Asia, that we were excessively pressed beyond [our] power, so as to despair even of living.For we don't desire to have you uninformed, brothers, concerning our affliction which happened to us in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.
2nd-Corinthians 1:9But we had in ourselves the answer of death, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raiseth the dead.But we ourselves had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not have our trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead;Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,
2nd-Corinthians 1:10Who hath delivered and doth deliver us out of so great dangers: in whom we trust that he will yet also deliver us.who has delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver; in whom we confide that he will also yet deliver;who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver; on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us;
2nd-Corinthians 1:11You helping withal in prayer for us: that for this gift obtained for us, by the means of many persons, thanks may be given by many in our behalf.ye also labouring together by supplication for us that the gift towards us, through means of many persons, may be the subject of the thanksgiving of many for us.you also helping together on our behalf by your supplication; that, for the gift bestowed on us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on your behalf.
2nd-Corinthians 1:12For our glory is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity of heart and sincerity of God, and not in carnal wisdom, but in the grace of God, we have conversed in this world: and more abundantly towards you.For our boasting is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and sincerity before God, (not in fleshly wisdom but in God's grace,) we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly towards you.For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.
2nd-Corinthians 1:13For we write no other things to you than what you have read and known. And I hope that you shall know unto the end:For we do not write other things to you but what ye well know and recognise; and I hope that ye will recognise to the end,For we write no other things to you, than what you read or even acknowledge, and I hope you will acknowledge to the end;
2nd-Corinthians 1:14As also you have known us in part, that we are your glory, as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.even as also ye have recognised us in part, that we are your boast, even as *ye* [are] ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.as also you acknowledged us in part, that we are your boasting, even as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.
2nd-Corinthians 1:15And in this confidence I had a mind to come to you before, that you might have a second grace:And with this confidence I purposed to come to you previously, that ye might have a second favour;In this confidence, I was determined to come first to you, that you might have a second benefit;
2nd-Corinthians 1:16And to pass by you into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and by you to be brought on my way towards Judea.and to pass through to Macedonia by you, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and to be set forward by you to Judaea.and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and to be sent forward by you on my journey to Judea.
2nd-Corinthians 1:17Whereas then I was thus minded, did I use lightness? Or, the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that there should be with me, It is, and It is not?Having therefore this purpose, did I then use lightness? Or what I purpose, do I purpose according to flesh, that there should be with me yea yea, and nay nay?When I therefore was thus determined, did I show fickleness? Or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be the "Yes, yes" and the "No, no?"
2nd-Corinthians 1:18But God is faithful, for our preaching which was to you, was not, It is, and It is not.Now God [is] faithful, that our word to you is not yea and nay.But as God is faithful, our word toward you was not "Yes and no."
2nd-Corinthians 1:19For the Son of God, Jesus Christ who was preached among you by us, by me, and Sylvanus, and Timothy, was not, It is and It is not, but, It is, was in him.For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, he who has been preached by us among you (by me and Silvanus and Timotheus), did not become yea and nay, but yea *is* in him.For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not "Yes and no," but in him is "Yes."
2nd-Corinthians 1:20For all the promises of God are in him, It is; therefore also by him, amen to God, unto our glory.For whatever promises of God [there are], in him is the yea, and in him the amen, for glory to God by us.For however many are the promises of God, in him is the "Yes." Therefore also through him is the "Amen," to the glory of God through us.
2nd-Corinthians 1:21Now he that confirmeth us with you in Christ, and that hath anointed us, is God:Now he that establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, [is] God,Now he who establishes us with you in Christ, and anointed us, is God;
2nd-Corinthians 1:22Who also hath sealed us, and given the pledge of the Spirit in our hearts.who also has sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.who also sealed us, and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts.
2nd-Corinthians 1:23But I call God to witness upon my soul, that to spare you, I came not any more to Corinth: not because we exercise dominion over your faith: but we are helpers of your joy: for in faith you stand.But I call God to witness upon my soul that to spare you I have not yet come to Corinth.But I call God for a witness to my soul, that I didn't come to Corinth to spare you.
