Genesis 4:1And Adam knew Eve his wife: who conceived and brought forth Cain, saying: I have gotten a man through God.And Man knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bore Cain, and said, I have acquired a man with Jehovah. The man knew Eve his wife. She conceived, and gave birth to Cain, and said, "I have gotten a man with Yahweh's help."
Genesis 4:2And again she brought forth his brother Abel. And Abel was a shepherd, and Cain a husbandman. And she further bore his brother Abel. And Abel was a shepherd, but Cain was a husbandman.Again she gave birth, to Cain's brother Abel. Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Genesis 4:3And it came to pass after many days, that Cain offered, of the fruits of the earth, gifts to the Lord. And in process of time it came to pass that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering to Jehovah. As time passed, it happened that Cain brought an offering to Yahweh from the fruit of the ground.
Genesis 4:4Abel also offered of the firstlings of his flock, and of their fat: and the Lord had respect to Abel, and to his offerings. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock, and of their fat. And Jehovah looked upon Abel, and on his offering;Abel also brought some of the firstborn of his flock and of the fat of it. Yahweh respected Abel and his offering,
Genesis 4:5But to Cain and his offerings he had no respect: and Cain was exceedingly angry, and his countenance fell.and upon Cain, and on his offering, he did not look. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.but he didn't respect Cain and his offering. Cain was very angry, and the expression on his face fell.
Genesis 4:6And the Lord said to him: Why art thou angry? and why is thy countenance fallen? And Jehovah said to Cain, Why art thou angry, and why is thy countenance fallen?Yahweh said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why has the expression of your face fallen?
Genesis 4:7If thou do well, shalt thou not receive? but if ill, shall not sin forthwith be present at the door? but the lust thereof shall be under thee, and thou shalt have dominion over it.If thou doest well, will not [thy countenance] look up [with confidence]? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door; and unto thee [shall be] his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.If you do well, will it not be lifted up? If you don't do well, sin crouches at the door. Its desire is for you, but you are to rule over it."
Genesis 4:8And Cain said to Abel his brother: Let us go forth abroad. And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel, and slew him.And Cain spoke to Abel his brother, and it came to pass when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.Cain said to Abel, his brother, "Let's go into the field." It happened, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel, his brother, and killed him.
Genesis 4:9And the Lord said to Cain: Where is thy brother Abel? And he answered, I know not: am I my brother's keeper? And Jehovah said to Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: am I my brother's keeper?Yahweh said to Cain, "Where is Abel, your brother?" He said, "I don't know. Am I my brother's keeper?"
Genesis 4:10And he said to him: What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth to me from the earth. And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood is crying to me from the ground.Yahweh said, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries to me from the ground.
Genesis 4:11Now, therefore, cursed shalt thou be upon the earth, which hath opened her mouth and received the blood of thy brother at thy hand,And now be thou cursed from the ground, which hath opened its mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand. Now you are cursed because of the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.
Genesis 4:12When thou shalt till it, it shall not yield to thee its fruit: a fugitive and vagabond shalt thou be upon the earth. When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield thee its strength; a wanderer and fugitive shalt thou be on the earth. From now on, when you till the ground, it won't yield its strength to you. You shall be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth."
Genesis 4:13And Cain said to the Lord: My iniquity is greater than that I may deserve pardon. And Cain said to Jehovah, My punishment is too great to be borne.Cain said to Yahweh, "My punishment is greater than I can bear.
Genesis 4:14Behold thou dost cast me out this day from the face of the earth, and I shall be hidden from thy face, and I shall be a vagabond and a fugitive on the earth: everyone, therefore, that findeth me, shall kill me.Behold, thou hast driven me this day from the face of the ground, and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a wanderer and fugitive on the earth; and it will come to pass, [that] every one who finds me will slay me.Behold, you have driven me out this day from the surface of the ground. I will be hidden from your face, and I will be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth. It will happen that whoever finds me will kill me."
Genesis 4:15And the Lord said to him: No, it shall not be so: but whosoever shall kill Cain, shall be punished sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, that whosoever found him should not kill him.And Jehovah said to him, Therefore, whoever slayeth Cain, it shall be revenged sevenfold. And Jehovah set a mark on Cain, lest any finding him should smite him.Yahweh said to him, "Therefore whoever slays Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold." Yahweh appointed a sign for Cain, lest any finding him should strike him.

Genesis 4:17And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived, and brought forth Henoch: and he built a city, and called the name thereof by the name of his son Henoch. And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. And he built a city; and he called the name of the city after the name of his son Enoch.Cain knew his wife. She conceived, and gave birth to Enoch. For God has appointed me another seed instead of Abel, because Cain has slain him.Adam knew his wife again. She gave birth to a son, and named him Seth.
