| John 16:1 | These things have I spoken to you, that you may not be scandalized. | These things I have spoken unto you that ye may not be offended. | "These things have I spoken to you, so that you wouldn't be caused to stumble. |
| John 16:2 | They will put you out of the synagogues: yea, the hour cometh, that whosoever killeth you, will think that he doth a service to God. | They shall put you out of the synagogues; but the hour is coming that every one who kills you will think to render service to God; | They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time comes that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God. |
| John 16:3 | And these things will they do to you; because they have not known the Father, nor me. | and these things they will do because they have not known the Father nor me. | They will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me. |
| John 16:4 | But these things I have told you, that when the hour shall come, you may remember that I told you of them. | But I have spoken these things to you, that when their hour shall have come, ye may remember them, that I have said [them] unto you. But I did not say these things unto you from [the] beginning, because I was with you. | But I have told you these things, so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. I didn't tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you. |
| John 16:5 | But I told you not these things from the beginning, because I was with you. And now I go to him that sent me, and none of you asketh me: Whither goest thou? | But now I go to him that has sent me, and none of you demands of me, Where goest thou? | But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, 'Where are you going?' |
| John 16:6 | But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow hath filled your heart. | But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. | But because I have told you these things, sorrow has filled your heart. |
| John 16:7 | But I tell you the truth: it is expedient to you that I go: for if I go not, the Paraclete will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. | But I say the truth to you, It is profitable for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I go I will send him to you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I don't go away, the Counselor won't come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. |
| John 16:8 | And when he is come, he will convince the world of sin, and of justice, and of judgment. | And having come, he will bring demonstration to the world, of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: | When he has come, he will convict the world in respect to sin, and righteousness, and judgment; |
| John 16:9 | Of sin: because they believed not in me. | of sin, because they do not believe on me; | of sin, because they don't believe in me; |
| John 16:10 | And of justice: because I go to the Father; and you shall see me no longer. | of righteousness, because I go away to [my] Father, and ye behold me no longer; | of righteousness, because I am going to my Father, and you see me no more; |
| John 16:11 | And of judgment: because the prince of this world is already judged. | of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. | of judgment, because the prince of this world has been judged. |
| John 16:12 | I have yet many things to say to you: but you cannot bear them now. | I have yet many things to say to you, but ye cannot bear them now. | I have yet many things to tell you, but you can't bear them now. |
| John 16:13 | But when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will teach you all truth. For he shall not speak of himself; but what things soever he shall hear, he shall speak; and the things that are to come, he shall shew you. | But when *he* is come, the Spirit of truth, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but whatsoever he shall hear he shall speak; and he will announce to you what is coming. | However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever things he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you the things that are to come. |

We do not know [of] what he speaks. | They said therefore, "What is this that he says, 'A little while?' We don't know what he is saying." |
| John 16:19 | And Jesus knew that they had a mind to ask him; and he said to them: Of this do you inquire among yourselves, because I said: A little while, and you shall not see me; and again a little while, and you shall see me? | Jesus knew therefore that they desired to demand of him, and said to them, Do ye inquire of this among yourselves that I said, A little while and ye do not behold me; and again a little while and ye shall see me? | Therefore Jesus perceived that they wanted to ask him, and he said to them, "Do you inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, 'A little while, and you won't see me, and again a little while, and you will see me?' |
| John 16:20 | Amen, amen I say to you, that you shall lament and weep, but the world shall rejoice; and you shall be made sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. | Verily, verily, I say to you, that ye shall weep and lament, ye, but the world shall rejoice; and ye will be grieved, but your grief shall be turned to joy. | Most assuredly I tell you, that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. |
| John 16:21 | A woman, when she is in labour, hath sorrow, because her hour is come; but when she hath brought forth the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. | A woman, when she gives birth to a child, has grief because her hour has come; but when the child is born, she no longer remembers the trouble, on account of the joy that a man has been born into the world. | A woman, when she is in travail, has sorrow, because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she doesn't remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a child is born into the world. |

| John 16:27 | For the Father himself loveth you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. | for the Father himself has affection for you, because ye have had affection for me, and have believed that I came out from God. | for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came forth from God. |
