Thus also the Son of man is about to suffer from them. | but I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they didn't recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted to. How long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. | And I brought him to thy disciples, and they were not able to heal him. | So I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him." |
Matthew 17:17 | And Jesus rebuked him, and the devil went out of him, and the child was cured from that hour. | And Jesus answering said, O unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to me. | Jesus answered, "Faithless and perverse generation! How long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring him here to me." |

Matthew 17:19 | Jesus said to them: Because of your unbelief. For, amen I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Remove from hence hither, and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you. | Then the disciples, coming to Jesus apart, said [to him], Why were not *we* able to cast him out? | Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said, "Why couldn't we cast it out?" |
Matthew 17:20 | But this kind is not cast out but by prayer and fasting. | And he says to them, Because of your unbelief; for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard [seed], ye shall say to this mountain, Be transported hence there, and it shall transport itself; and nothing shall be impossible to you. | He said to them, "Because of your unbelief. For most assuredly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. |
Matthew 17:21 | And when they abode together in Galilee, Jesus said to them: The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: | But this kind does not go out but by prayer and fasting. | But this kind doesn't go out except by prayer and fasting." |

And when he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, What dost thou think, Simon? the kings of the earth, from whom do they receive custom or tribute? from their own sons or from strangers? | He said, "Yes." When he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, "What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their sons, or from strangers?" |
Matthew 17:26 | But that we may not scandalize them, go to the sea, and cast in a hook: and that fish which shall first come up, take: and when thou hast opened its mouth, thou shalt find a stater: take that, and give it to them for me and thee. | Peter says to him, From strangers.
