Jonah 2:1Now the Lord prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonas: and Jonas was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. And Jonah prayed unto Jehovah his God out of the fish's belly; And Jonah prayeth unto Jehovah his God from the bowels of the fish.
Jonah 2:2And Jonas prayed to the Lord his God out of the belly of the fish.and he said: I cried by reason of my distress unto Jehovah, and he answered me; Out of the belly of Sheol cried I: thou heardest my voice. And he saith: I called, because of my distress, to Jehovah, And He doth answer me, From the belly of sheol I have cried, Thou hast heard my voice.
Jonah 2:3And he said: I cried out of my affliction to the Lord, and he heard me: I cried out of the belly of hell, and thou hast heard my voice. For thou didst cast me into the depth, into the heart of the seas, And the flood was round about me: All thy breakers and thy billows are gone over me.When Thou dost cast me [into] the deep, Into the heart of the seas, Then the flood doth compass me, All Thy breakers and Thy billows have passed over me.
Jonah 2:4And thou hast cast me forth into the deep in the heart of the sea, and a flood hath compassed me: all thy billows, and thy waves have passed over me.And I said, I am cast out from before thine eyes, Yet will I look again toward thy holy temple. And I I said: I have been cast out from before Thine eyes, (Yet I add to look unto Thy holy temple!)
Jonah 2:5And I said: I am cast away out of the sight of thy eyes: but yet I shall see thy holy temple again. The waters encompassed me, to the soul: The deep was round about me, The weeds were wrapped about my head.Compassed me have waters unto the soul, The deep doth compass me, The weed is bound to my head.
Jonah 2:6The waters compassed me about even to the soul: the deep hath closed me round about, the sea hath covered my head.I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; The bars of the earth [closed] upon me for ever: But thou hast brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God.To the cuttings of mountains I have come down, The earth, her bars [are] behind me to the age. And Thou bringest up from the pit my life, O Jehovah my God.
Jonah 2:7I went down to the lowest parts of the mountains: the bars of the earth have shut me up for ever: and thou wilt bring up my life from corruption, O Lord my God.When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Jehovah; And my prayer came in unto thee, Into thy holy temple. In the feebleness within me of my soul Jehovah I have remembered, And come in unto Thee doth my prayer, Unto Thy holy temple.
Jonah 2:8When my soul was in distress within me, I remembered the Lord: that my prayer may come to thee, unto thy holy temple. They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. Those observing lying vanities their own mercy forsake.
Jonah 2:9They that are vain observe vanities, forsake their own mercy. But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation is of Jehovah. And I with a voice of thanksgiving I sacrifice to Thee, That which I have vowed I complete, Salvation [is] of Jehovah.
Jonah 2:10But I with the voice of praise will sacrifice to thee: I will pay whatsoever I have vowed for my salvation to the Lord. And Jehovah commanded the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry [land].And Jehovah saith to the fish, and it vomiteth out Jonah on the dry land.
Jonah 2:11And the Lord spoke to the fish: and it vomited out Jonas upon the dry land.
