Hebrews 6:1Wherefore leaving the word of the beginning of Christ, let us go on to things more perfect, not laying again the foundation of penance from dead works, and of faith towards God,Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Wherefore, leaving the word of the beginning of the Christ, let us go on [to what belongs] to full growth, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and faith in God,
Hebrews 6:2Of the doctrine of baptisms, and imposition of hands, and of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. of [the] doctrine of washings, and of imposition of hands, and of resurrection of [the] dead, and of eternal judgment;
Hebrews 6:3And this will we do, if God permit.And this will we do, if God permit. and this will we do if God permit.
Hebrews 6:4For it is impossible for those who were once illuminated, have tasted also the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, For it is impossible to renew again to repentance those once enlightened, and who have tasted of the heavenly gift, and have been made partakers of [the] Holy Spirit,
Hebrews 6:5Have moreover tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, and have tasted the good word of God, and [the] works of power of [the] age to come,
Hebrews 6:6And are fallen away: to be renewed again to penance, crucifying again to themselves the Son of God, and making him a mockery.If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. and have fallen away, crucifying for themselves [as they do] the Son of God, and making a show of [him].
Hebrews 6:7For the earth that drinketh in the rain which cometh often upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is tilled, receiveth blessing from God.For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: For ground which drinks the rain which comes often upon it, and produces useful herbs for those for whose sakes also it is tilled, partakes of blessing from God;
Hebrews 6:8But that which bringeth forth thorns and briers, is reprobate, and very near unto a curse, whose end is to be burnt.But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned. but bringing forth thorns and briars, it is found worthless and nigh to a curse, whose end [is] to be burned.
Hebrews 6:9But, my dearly beloved, we trust better things of you, and nearer to salvation; though we speak thus.But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. But we are persuaded concerning you, beloved, better things, and connected with salvation, even if we speak thus.
Hebrews 6:10For God is not unjust, that he should forget your work, and the love which you have shewn in his name, you who have ministered, and do minister to the saints.For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. For God [is] not unrighteous to forget your work, and the love which ye have shewn to his name, having ministered to the saints, and [still] ministering.
Hebrews 6:11And we desire that every one of you shew forth the same carefulness to the accomplishing of hope unto the end:And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: But we desire earnestly that each one of you shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end;
Hebrews 6:12That you become not slothful, but followers of them, who through faith and patience shall inherit the promises.That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. that ye be not sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience have been inheritors of the promises.
Hebrews 6:13For God making promise to Abraham, because he had no one greater by whom he might swear, swore by himself,For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, For God, having promised to Abraham, since he had no greater to swear by, swore by himself,
Hebrews 6:14Saying: Unless blessing I shall bless thee, and multiplying I shall multiply thee.Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee;
Hebrews 6:15And so patiently enduring he obtained the promise.And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. and thus, having had long patience, he got the promise.
Hebrews 6:16For men swear by one greater than themselves: and an oath for confirmation is the end of all their controversy.For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. For men indeed swear by a greater, and with them the oath is a term to all dispute, as making matters sure.
Hebrews 6:17Wherein God, meaning more abundantly to shew to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed an oath:Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: Wherein God, willing to shew more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of his purpose, intervened by an oath,
Hebrews 6:18That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have the strongest comfort, who have fled for refuge to hold fast the hope set before us.That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: that by two unchangeable things, in which [it was] impossible that God should lie, we might have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold on the hope set before us,
Hebrews 6:19Which we have as an anchor of the soul, sure and firm, and which entereth in even within the veil;Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; which we have as anchor of the soul, both secure and firm, and entering into that within the veil,
Hebrews 6:20Where the forerunner Jesus is entered for us, made a high priest for ever according to the order of Melchisedech.Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. where Jesus is entered as forerunner for us, become for ever a high priest according to the order of Melchisedec.
