| Malachi 1:2 | I have loved you, saith the Lord: and you have said: Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob, | I have loved you, saith Jehovah; but ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? | Malachi 1:3 | But have hated Esau? and I have made his mountains a wilderness, and given his inheritance to the dragons of the desert. | And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness. | and I hated Esau; and made his mountains a desolation, and [gave] his inheritance to the jackals of the wilderness. |
| Malachi 1:4 | But if Edom shall say: We are destroyed, but we will return and build up what hath been destroyed: thus saith the Lord of hosts: They shall build up, and I will throw down: and they shall be called the borders of wickedness, and the people with whom the Lord is angry for ever. | Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever. | If Edom say, We are broken down, but we will build again the ruined places, thus saith Jehovah of hosts: They shall build, but I will throw down; and [men] shall call them the territory of wickedness, and the people against whom Jehovah hath indignation for ever. |

I have no pleasure in you, saith the Lord of hosts: and I will not receive a gift of your hand. | Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand. | Who is there among you that would even shut the doors? and ye would not kindle [fire] on mine altar for nothing. I have no delight in you, saith Jehovah of hosts, neither will I accept an oblation at your hand. |

And ye have puffed at it, saith Jehovah of hosts, and ye bring [that which was] torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye bring the oblation: should I accept this of your hand? saith Jehovah. |
