Deuteronomy 22:1Thou shalt not pass by if thou seest thy brother's ox, or his sheep go astray: but thou shalt bring them back to thy brother.Thou shalt not see the brother's ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case bring them again unto thy brother. You shall not see your brother's ox or his sheep go astray, and hide yourself from them: you shall surely bring them again to your brother.
Deuteronomy 22:2And if thy brother be not nigh, or thou know him not: thou shalt bring them to thy house, and they shall be with thee until thy brother seek them, and receive them.And if thy brother be not nigh unto thee, or if thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it unto thine own house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seek after it, and thou shalt restore it to him again. If your brother isn't near to you, or if you don't know him, then you shall bring it home to your house, and it shall be with you until your brother seek after it, and you shall restore it to him.
Deuteronomy 22:3Thou shalt do in like manner with his ass, and with his raiment, and with every thing that is thy brother's, which is lost: if thou find it, neglect it not as pertaining to another.In like manner shalt thou do with his ass; and so shalt thou do with his raiment; and with all lost thing of thy brother's, which he hath lost, and thou hast found, shalt thou do likewise: thou mayest not hide thyself. So shall you do with his donkey; and so shall you do with his garment; and so shall you do with every lost thing of your brother's, which he has lost, and you have found: you may not hide yourself.
Deuteronomy 22:4If thou see thy brother's ass or his ox to be fallen down in the way, thou shalt not slight it, but shalt lift it up with him.Thou shalt not see thy brother's ass or his ox fall down by the way, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt surely help him to lift them up again. You shall not see your brother's donkey or his ox fallen down by the way, and hide yourself from them: you shall surely help him to lift them up again.
Deuteronomy 22:5A woman shall not be clothed with man's apparel, neither shall a man use woman's apparel : for he that doeth these things is abominable before God.The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God. A woman shall not wear that which pertains to a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment; for whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh your God.
Deuteronomy 22:6If thou find as thou walkest by the way, a bird's nest in a tree, or on the ground, and the dam sitting upon the young or upon the eggs: thou shalt not take her with her young:If a bird's nest chance to be before thee in the way in any tree, or on the ground, whether they be young ones, or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young: If a bird's nest chance to be before you in the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, and the hen sitting on the young, or on the eggs, you shall not take the hen with the young:
Deuteronomy 22:7But shalt let her go, keeping the young which thou hast caught: that it may be well with thee, and thou mayst live a long time.But thou shalt in any wise let the dam go, and take the young to thee; that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days. you shall surely let the hen go, but the young you may take to yourself; that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days.
Deuteronomy 22:8When thou buildest a new house, thou shalt make a battlement to the roof round about: lest blood be shed in thy house, and thou be guilty, if any one slip, and fall down headlong.When thou buildest a new house, then thou shalt make a battlement for thy roof, that thou bring not blood upon thine house, if any man fall from thence. When you build a new house, then you shall make a battlement for your roof, that you don't bring blood on your house, if any man fall from there.
Deuteronomy 22:9Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest both the seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of the vineyard, be sanctified together.Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled. You shall not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest the whole fruit be forfeited, the seed which you have sown, and the increase of the vineyard.
Deuteronomy 22:10Thou shalt not plough with an ox and an ass together.Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together. You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.
Deuteronomy 22:11Thou shalt not wear a garment that is woven of woollen and linen together.Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together. You shall not wear a mingled stuff, wool and linen together.
Deuteronomy 22:12Thou shalt make strings in the hem at the four corners of thy cloak, wherewith thou shalt be covered.Thou shalt make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest thyself. You shall make you fringes on the four borders of your cloak, with which you cover yourself.
Deuteronomy 22:13If a man marry a wife, and afterwards hate her,If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her, If any man take a wife, and go in to her, and hate her,
Deuteronomy 22:14And seek occasions to put her away, laying to her charge a very ill name, and say: I took this woman to wife, and going in to her, I found her not a virgin:And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid: and lay shameful things to her charge, and bring up an evil name on her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came near to her, I didn't find in her the tokens of virginity;
Deuteronomy 22:15Her father and mother shall take her, and shall bring with them the tokens of her virginity to the ancients of the city that are in the gate:Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate: then shall the father of the young lady, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the young lady's virginity to the elders of the city in the gate;
Deuteronomy 22:16And the father shall say: I gave my daughter unto this man to wife: and because he hateth her,And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her; and the young lady's father shall tell the elders, I gave my daughter to this man to wife, and he hates her;
Deuteronomy 22:17He layeth to her charge a very ill name, so as to say: I found not thy daughter a virgin: and behold these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the ancients of the city:And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. and, behold, he has laid shameful things [to her charge], saying, I didn't find in your daughter the tokens of virginity; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. They shall spread the garment before the elders of the city.
Deuteronomy 22:18And the ancients of that city shall take that man, and beat him,And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him; The elders of that city shall take the man and chastise him;
Deuteronomy 22:19Condemning him besides in a hundred sides of silver, which he shall give to the damsel's father, because he hath defamed by a very ill name a virgin of Israel: and he shall have her to wife, and may not put her away all the days of his life.And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days. and they shall fine him one hundred [shekels] of silver, and give them to the father of the young lady, because he has brought up an evil name on a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.
Deuteronomy 22:20But if what he charged her with be true, and virginity be not found in the damsel:But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: But if this thing be true, that the tokens of virginity were not found in the young lady;
Deuteronomy 22:21They shall cast her out of the doors of her father's house, and the men of the city shall stone her to death, and she shall die: because she hath done a wicked thing in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: and thou shalt take away the evil out of the midst of thee.Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you. then they shall bring out the young lady to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has done folly in Israel, to play the prostitute in her father's house: so shall you put away the evil from the midst of you.
Deuteronomy 22:22If a man lie with another man's wife, they shall both die, that is to say, the adulterer and the adulteress: and thou shalt take away the evil out of Israel.If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel. If a man be found lying with a woman married to a husband, then they shall both of them die, the man who lay with the woman, and the woman: so shall you put away the evil from Israel.
Deuteronomy 22:23If a man have espoused a damsel that is a virgin, and some one find her in the city, and lie with her,If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her; If there be a young lady who is a virgin pledged to be married to a husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;
Deuteronomy 22:24Thou shalt bring them both out to the gate of that city, and they shall be stoned: the damsel, because she cried not out, being in the city: the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife. And thou shalt take away the evil from the midst of thee.Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you. then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones; the lady, because she didn't cry, being in the city; and the man, because he has humbled his neighbor's wife: so you shall put away the evil from the midst of you.
Deuteronomy 22:25But if a man find a damsel that is betrothed, in the field, and taking hold of her, lie with her, he alone shall die:But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die: But if the man find the lady who is pledged to be married in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her; then the man only who lay with her shall die:
Deuteronomy 22:26The damsel shall suffer nothing, neither is she guilty of death : for as a robber riseth against his brother, and taketh away his life, so also did the damsel suffer:But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter: but to the lady you shall do nothing; there is in the lady no sin worthy of death: for as when a man rises against his neighbor, and kills him, even so is this matter;
Deuteronomy 22:27She was alone in the field: she cried, and there was no man to help her.For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her. for he found her in the field, the pledged to be married lady cried, and there was none to save her.
Deuteronomy 22:28If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, who is not espoused, and taking her, lie with her, and the matter come to judgment :If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; If a man find a lady who is a virgin, who is not pledged to be married, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
Deuteronomy 22:29He that lay with her shall give to the father of the maid fifty sides of silver, and shall have her to wife, because he hath humbled her: he may not put her away all the days of his life.Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days. then the man who lay with her shall give to the lady's father fifty [shekels] of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has humbled her; he may not put her away all his days.
Deuteronomy 22:30No man shall take his father's wife, nor remove his covering.A man shall not take his father's wife, nor discover his father's skirt. A man shall not take his father's wife, and shall not uncover his father's skirt.
