Amos 8:5Saying: When will the month be over, and we shall sell our wares: and the sabbath, and we shall open the corn: that we may lessen the measure, and increase the sicle, and may convey in deceitful balances,Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell grain? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and dealing falsely with balances of deceit;
Amos 8:6That we may possess the needy for money, and the poor for a pair of shoes, and may sell the refuse of the corn?That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; and even sell the refuse of the wheat?that we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes, and sell the refuse of the wheat?
Amos 8:7The Lord hath sworn against the pride of Jacob: surely I will never forget all their works.The LORD hath sworn by the excellence of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.Jehovah hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.
Amos 8:8Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein: and rise up altogether as a river, and be cast out, and run down as the river of Egypt?Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth in it? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood: and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? yea, it shall rise up wholly like the River; and it shall be troubled and sink again, like the River of Egypt.
