Exodus 40:1And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
Exodus 40:2The first month, the first day of the month, thou shalt set up the tabernacle of the testimony,On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation."On the first day of the first month you shall raise up the tent of the Tent of Meeting.
Exodus 40:3And shalt put the ark in it, and shalt let down the veil before it:And thou shalt put in it the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the vail.You shall put the ark of the testimony in it, and you shall screen the ark with the veil.
Exodus 40:4And thou shalt bring in the table, and set upon it the things that are commanded according to the rite. The candlestick shall stand with its lamps,And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, and light its lamps.You shall bring in the table, and set in order the things that are on it. You shall bring in the lampstand, and light the lamps of it.
Exodus 40:5And the altar of gold whereon the incense is burnt, before the ark of the testimony. Thou shalt put the hanging in the entry of the tabernacle,And thou shalt set the altar of gold for the incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the hanging of the door to the tabernacle.You shall set the golden altar for incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the screen of the door to the tent.
Exodus 40:6And before it the altar of holocaust:And thou shalt set the altar of the, burnt-offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.You shall set the altar of burnt offering before the door of the tent of the tent of meeting.
Exodus 40:7The laver between the altar and the tabernacle, and thou shalt fill it with water.And thou shalt set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and shalt put water in it.You shall set the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and shall put water therein.
Exodus 40:8And thou shalt encompass the court with hangings, and the entry thereof.And thou shalt set up the court round about, and hang up the hanging at the court-gate.You shall set up the court around it, and hang up the screen of the gate of the court.
Exodus 40:9And thou shalt take the oil of unction and anoint the tabernacle with its vessels, that they may be sanctified:And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is in it, and shalt hallow it, and all its vessels: and it shall be holy.You shall take the anointing oil, and anoint the tent, and all that is in it, and shall make it holy, and all its furniture: and it will be holy.
Exodus 40:10The altar of holocaust and all its vessels:And thou shalt anoint the altar of the burnt-offering and all its vessels, and sanctify the altar: and it shall be an altar most holy.You shall anoint the altar of burnt offering, with all its vessels, and sanctify the altar: and the altar will be most holy.
Exodus 40:11The laver with its foot: thou shalt consecrate all with the oil of unction, that they may be most holy.And thou shalt anoint the laver and its foot, and sanctify it.You shall anoint the basin and its base, and sanctify it.
Exodus 40:12And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, and having washed them with water,And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water.You shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the tent of meeting, and shall wash them with water.
Exodus 40:13Thou shalt put on them the holy vestments, that they may minister to me, and that the unction of them may prosper to an everlasting priesthood.And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister to me in the priest's office.You shall put on Aaron the holy garments; and you shall anoint him, and sanctify him, that he may minister to me in the priest's office.
Exodus 40:14And Moses did all that the Lord had commanded.And thou shalt bring his sons, and clothe them with coats:You shall bring his sons, and put coats on them.
Exodus 40:15So in the first month of the second year, the first day of the month, the tabernacle was set up.And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister to me in the priest's office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.You shall anoint them, as you anointed their father, that they may minister to me in the priest's office. Their anointing shall be to them for an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.
Exodus 40:16And Moses reared it up, and placed the boards and the sockets and the bars, and set up the pillars,Thus did Moses; according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he.Thus did Moses: according to all that Yahweh commanded him, so he did.
Exodus 40:17And spread the roof over the tabernacle, putting over it a cover, as the Lord had commanded.And it came to pass in the first month, in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up.It happened in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tent was raised up.
Exodus 40:18And he put the testimony in the ark, thrusting bars underneath, and the oracle above.And Moses reared up the tabernacle, and fastened its sockets, and set up its boards, and put in its bars, and reared up its pillars.Moses raised up the tent, and laid its sockets, and set up the boards of it, and put in the bars of it, and raised up its pillars.
Exodus 40:19And when he had brought the ark into the tabernacle, he drew the veil before it to fulfil the commandment of the Lord.And he spread abroad the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent above upon it; as the LORD commanded Moses.He spread the covering over the tent, and put the roof of the tent above on it, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
Exodus 40:20And he set the table in the tabernacle of the testimony at the north side without the veil,And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staffs on the ark, and put the mercy-seat above upon the ark:He took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the poles on the ark, and put the mercy seat above on the ark.
Exodus 40:21Setting there in order the loaves of proposition, as the Lord had commanded Moses.And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the vail of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses.He brought the ark into the tent, and set up the veil of the screen, and screened the ark of the testimony, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
Exodus 40:22He set the candlestick also in the tabernacle of the testimony over against the table on the south side,And he put the table in the tent of the congregation, upon the side of the tabernacle northward, without the vail.He put the table in the tent of meeting, on the side of the tent northward, outside of the veil.
Exodus 40:23Placing the lamps in order, according to the precept of the Lord.And he set the bread in order upon it before the LORD; as the LORD had commanded Moses.He set the bread in order on it before Yahweh, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
Exodus 40:24He set also the altar of gold under the roof of the testimony over against the veil,And he put the candlestick in the tent of the congregation, over against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward.He put the lampstand in the tent of meeting, opposite the table, on the side of the tent southward.
Exodus 40:25And burnt upon it the incense of spices, as the Lord had commanded Moses.And he lighted the lamps before the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.He lit the lamps before Yahweh, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
Exodus 40:26And he put also the hanging in the entry of the tabernacle of the testimony,And he put the golden altar in the tent of the congregation, before the vail:He put the golden altar in the tent of meeting before the veil;
Exodus 40:27And the altar of holocaust of the entry of the testimony, offering the holocaust, and the sacrifices upon it, as the Lord had commanded.And he burnt sweet incense on it; as the LORD commanded Moses.and he burnt incense of sweet spices on it, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
Exodus 40:28And he set the laver between the tabernacle of the testimony and the altar, filling it with water.And he set up the hanging at the door of the tabernacle.He put up the screen of the door to the tent.
Exodus 40:29And Moses and Aaron, and his sons washed their hands and feet,And he put the altar of burnt-offering by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation, and offered upon it the burnt-offering, and the meat-offering; as the LORD commanded Moses.He set the altar of burnt offering at the door of the tent of the tent of meeting, and offered on it the burnt offering and the meal-offering, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
Exodus 40:30When they went into the tabernacle of the covenant, and went to the altar, as the Lord had commanded Moses.And he set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and put water there, to wash with.He set the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water therein, with which to wash.
Exodus 40:31He set up also the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, drawing the hanging in the entry thereof. After all things were perfected,And Moses, and Aaron, and his sons, washed their hands and their feet thereat:Moses, Aaron, and his sons washed their hands and their feet there.
Exodus 40:32The cloud covered the tabernacle of the testimony, and the glory of the Lord filled it.When they went into the tent of the congregation, and when they came near to the altar, they washed; as the LORD commanded Moses.When they went into the tent of meeting, and when they came near to the altar, they washed, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
Exodus 40:33Neither could Moses go into the tabernacle of the covenant, the cloud covering all things and the majesty of the Lord shining, for the cloud had covered all.And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court-gate: so Moses finished the work.He raised up the court around the tent and the altar, and set up the screen of the gate of the court. So Moses finished the work.
Exodus 40:34If at any time the cloud removed from the tabernacle, the children of Israel went forward by their troops:Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of Yahweh filled the tent.
Exodus 40:35If it hung over, they remained in the same place.And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode upon it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.Moses wasn't able to enter into the tent of meeting, because the cloud stayed on it, and Yahweh's glory filled the tent.
Exodus 40:36For the cloud of the Lord hung over the tabernacle by day, and a fire by night, in the sight of all the children of Israel throughout all their mansions.And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:When the cloud was taken up from over the tent, the children of Israel went onward, throughout all their journeys;
