Mark 5:1And they came over the strait of the sea into the country of the Gerasens.And they came over to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.They came to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

Mark 5:3Who had his dwelling in the tombs, and no man now could bind him, not even with chains.Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:who had his dwelling in the tombs. Nobody could bind him any more, not even with chains,
Mark 5:4For having been often bound with fetters and chains, he had burst the chains, and broken the fetters in pieces, and no one could tame him.For he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.because he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the fetters broken in pieces. Nobody had the strength to tame him.
Mark 5:5And he was always day and night in the monuments and in the mountains, crying and cutting himself with stones.And always, night and day, he was on the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.Always, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying out, and cutting himself with stones.
Mark 5:6And seeing Jesus afar off, he ran and adored him.But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshiped him,When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him,
Mark 5:7And crying with a loud voice, he said: What have I to do with thee, Jesus the Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God that thou torment me not.And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the Most High God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.and crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, don't torment me."
Mark 5:8For he said unto him: Go out of the man, thou unclean spirit.(For he said to him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.)For he said to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!"
Mark 5:9And he asked him: What is thy name? And he saith to him: My name is Legion, for we are many.And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.He asked him, "What is your name?" He said to him, "My name is Legion, for we are many."
Mark 5:10And he besought him much, that he would not drive him away out of the country.And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.He begged him much that he would not send them away out of the country.
Mark 5:11And there was there near the mountain a great herd of swine, feeding.Now there was there nigh to the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.Now there was there on the mountainside a great herd of pigs feeding.
Mark 5:12And the spirits besought him, saying: Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.And all the demons besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.All the demons begged him, saying, "Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them."
Mark 5:13And Jesus immediately gave them leave. And the unclean spirits going out, entered into the swine: and the herd with great violence was carried headlong into the sea, being about two thousand, and were stifled in the sea.And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea (they were about two thousand) and were choked in the sea.At once Jesus gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out, and entered into the pigs. The herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea.
Mark 5:14And they that fed them fled, and told it in the city and in the fields. And they went out to see what was done:And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.Those who fed them fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. The people came to see what it was that had happened.
Mark 5:15And they came to Jesus, and they see him that was troubled with the devil, sitting, clothed, and well in his wits, and they were afraid.And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the demon, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.They came to Jesus, and saw him who was possessed by demons sitting, clothed and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid.
Mark 5:16And they that had seen it, told them, in what manner he had been dealt with who had the devil; and concerning the swine.And they that saw it told them how it befell him that was possessed with the demon, and also concerning the swine.Those who saw it declared to them how it happened to him who was possessed by demons, and about the pigs.
Mark 5:17And they began to pray him that he would depart from their coasts.And they began to pray him to depart out of their borders.They began to beg him to depart from their borders.
Mark 5:18And when he went up into the ship, he that had been troubled with the devil, began to beseech him that he might be with him.And when he had come into the boat, he that had been possessed with the demon prayed him that he might be with him.As he was entering into the boat, he who had been possessed by demons begged him that he might be with him.
Mark 5:19And he admitted him not, but saith to him: Go into thy house to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had mercy on thee.Yet Jesus suffered him not, but saith to him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.He didn't allow him, but said to him, "Go to your house, to your friends, and tell them how the Lord has done great things for you, and how he had mercy on you."
Mark 5:20And he went his way, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men wondered.And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him. And all men wondered.He went his way, and began to proclaim in Decapolis how Jesus had done great things for him, and everyone marveled.
Mark 5:21And when Jesus had passed again in the ship over the strait, a great multitude assembled together unto him, and he was nigh unto the sea.And when Jesus had passed over again in a boat to the other side, much people gathered to him: and he was nigh to the sea.When Jesus had crossed back over in the boat to the other side, a great multitude was gathered to him; and he was by the sea.
Mark 5:22And there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue named Jairus: and seeing him, falleth down at his feet.And behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,Behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, came; and seeing him, he fell at his feet,
Mark 5:23And he besought him much, saying: My daughter is at the point of death, come, lay thy hand upon her, that she may be safe, and may live.And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she will live.and begged him much, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death. Please come and lay your hands on her, that she may be made healthy, and live."
Mark 5:24And he went with him, and a great multitude followed him, and they thronged him.And Jesus went with him; and many people followed him, and thronged him.He went with him, and a great multitude followed him, and they pressed upon him on all sides.
Mark 5:25And a woman who was under an issue of blood twelve years,And a certain woman who had an issue of blood twelve years,A certain woman, who had an issue of blood for twelve years,
Mark 5:26And had suffered many things from many physicians; and had spent all that she had, and was nothing the better, but rather worse,And had suffered many things from many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was not relieved, but rather grew worse,and had suffered many things by many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better, but rather grew worse,
Mark 5:27When she had heard of Jesus, came in the crowd behind him, and touched his garment.When she had heard of Jesus, came in the crowd behind, and touched his garment.having heard the things concerning Jesus, came up behind him in the crowd, and touched his clothes.
Mark 5:28For she said: If I shall touch but his garment, I shall be whole.For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.For she said, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well."
Mark 5:29And forthwith the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the evil.And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that infirmity.Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her plague.
Mark 5:30And immediately Jesus knowing in himself the virtue that had proceeded from him, turning to the multitude, said: Who hath touched my garments?And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the throng, and said, Who touched my clothes?Immediately Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power had gone forth from him, turned around in the crowd, and asked, "Who touched my clothes?"
Mark 5:31And his disciples said to him: Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou who hath touched me?And his disciples said to him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?His disciples said to him, "You see the multitude pressing against you, and you say, 'Who touched me?'"
Mark 5:32And he looked about to see her who had done this.And he looked around, to see her that had done this thing.He looked around to see her who had done this thing.

Mark 5:34And he said to her: Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole: go in peace, and be thou whole of thy disease.And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be healed of thy infirmity.He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease."
Mark 5:35While he was yet speaking, some come from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying: Thy daughter is dead: why dost thou trouble the master any further?While he was yet speaking, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain who said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?While he was still speaking, they came from the synagogue ruler's house saying, "Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher any more?"
Mark 5:36But Jesus having heard the word that was spoken, saith to the ruler of the synagogue: Fear not, only believe.As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith to the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe,But Jesus, not heeding the word spoken, immediately said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Don't be afraid, only believe."
Mark 5:37And he admitted not any man to follow him, but Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.He allowed no one to follow him, except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James.
Mark 5:38And they come to the house of the ruler of the synagogue; and he seeth a tumult, and people weeping and wailing much.And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.He came to the synagogue ruler's house, and he saw an uproar, weeping, and great wailing.
Mark 5:39And going in, he saith to them: Why make you this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.And when he had come in, he saith to them, Why make ye this tumult, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.When he had entered in, he said to them, "Why do you make an uproar and weep? The child is not dead, but is asleep."
Mark 5:40And they laughed him to scorn. But he having put them all out, taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.And they derided him: but when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.They laughed him to scorn. But he, having put them all out, took the father of the child and her mother and those who were with him, and went in where the child was lying.
Mark 5:41And taking the damsel by the hand, he saith to her: Talitha cumi, which is, being interpreted: Damsel (I say to thee) arise.And he took the damsel by the hand, and said to her, Talitha cumi: which is, being interpreted, Damsel (I say to thee) arise.Taking the child by the hand, he said to her, "Talitha cumi;" which means, being interpreted, "Young lady, I tell you, get up."
Mark 5:42And immediately the damsel rose up, and walked: and she was twelve years old: and they were astonished with a great astonishment.And forthwith the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.Immediately the young lady rose up, and walked, for she was twelve years old. They were amazed with great amazement.
Mark 5:43And he charged them strictly that no man should know it: and commanded that something should be given her to eat.And he charged them strictly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.He charged them much that no one should know this.
