John 7:1After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him.After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him.And Jesus was walking after these things in Galilee, for he did not wish to walk in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him,
John 7:2Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand.Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand.and the feast of the Jews was nigh that of tabernacles
John 7:3And his brethren said to him: Pass from hence, and go into Judea; that thy disciples also may see thy works which thou dost.His brethren therefore said to him, Depart hence, and go into Judea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.his brethren, therefore, said unto him, `Remove hence, and go away to Judea, that thy disciples also may behold thy works that thou dost;
John 7:4For there is no man that doth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, manifest thyself to the world.For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou doest these things, show thyself to the world.for no one in secret doth anything, and himself seeketh to be in public; if thou dost these things manifest thyself to the world;`
John 7:5For neither did his brethren believe in him.(For neither did his brethren believe in him.)for not even were his brethren believing in him.
John 7:6Then Jesus said to them: My time is not yet come; but your time is always ready.Then Jesus said to them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always ready.Jesus, therefore, saith to them, `My time is not yet present, but your time is always ready;
John 7:7The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth: because I give testimony of it, that the works thereof are evil.The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify concerning it, that its works are evil.the world is not able to hate you, but me it doth hate, because I testify concerning it that its works are evil.
John 7:8Go you up to this festival day, but I go not up to this festival day: because my time is not accomplished.Go ye up to this feast: I go not yet to this feast, for my time is not yet full come.Ye go ye up to this feast; I do not yet go up to this feast, because my time hath not yet been fulfilled;`
John 7:9When he had said these things, he himself stayed in Galilee.When he had said these words to them, he abode still in Galilee.and saying these things to them, he remained in Galilee.
John 7:10But after his brethren were gone up, then he also went up to the feast, not openly, but, as it were, in secret.But when his brethren had gone up, then he went also to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.And when his brethren went up, then also he himself went up to the feast, not manifestly, but as in secret;
John 7:11The Jews therefore sought him on the festival day, and said: Where is he?Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?the Jews, therefore, were seeking him, in the feast, and said, `Where is that one?`
John 7:12And there was much murmuring among the multitude concerning him. For some said: He is a good man. And others said: No, but he seduceth the people.And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, No; but he deceiveth the people.and there was much murmuring about him among the multitudes, some indeed said `He is good;` and others said, `No, but he leadeth astray the multitude;`
John 7:13Yet no man spoke openly of him, for fear of the Jews.Yet, no man spoke openly of him, for fear of the Jews.no one, however, was speaking freely about him, through fear of the Jews.
John 7:14Now about the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.Now about the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.And it being now the middle of the feast, Jesus went up to the temple, and he was teaching,
John 7:15And the Jews wondered, saying: How doth this man know letters, having never learned?And the Jews marveled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?and the Jews were wondering, saying, `How hath this one known letters not having learned?`
John 7:16Jesus answered them, and said: My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.Jesus answered them and said, `My teaching is not mine, but His who sent me;
John 7:17If any man do the will of him; he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.If any man will do his will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God, or whether I speak from myself.if any one may will to do His will, he shall know concerning the teaching, whether it is of God, or I do speak from myself.
John 7:18He that speaketh of himself, seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, he is true, and there is no injustice in him.He that speaketh from himself, seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.`He who is speaking from himself his own glory doth seek, but he who is seeking the glory of him who sent him, this one is true, and unrighteousness is not in him;
John 7:19Did Moses not give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law?Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?hath not Moses given you the law? and none of you doth the law; why me do ye seek to kill?`
John 7:20Why seek you to kill me? The multitude answered, and said: Thou hast a devil; who seeketh to kill thee?The people answered and said, Thou hast a demon: who goeth about to kill thee?The multitude answered and said, `Thou hast a demon, who doth seek to kill thee?`
John 7:21Jesus answered, and said to them: One work I have done; and you all wonder:Jesus answered and said to them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.Jesus answered and said to them, `One work I did, and ye all wonder,
John 7:22Therefore, Moses gave you circumcision (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and on the sabbath day you circumcise a man.Moses therefore gave to you circumcision, (not because it is from Moses, but from the fathers) and ye on the sabbath circumcise a man.because of this, Moses hath given you the circumcision not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers and on a sabbath ye circumcise a man;
John 7:23If a man receive circumcision on the sabbath day, that the law of Moses may not be broken; are you angry at me because I have healed the whole man on the sabbath day?If a man on the sabbath receiveth circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have restored a man to sound health on the sabbath?if a man doth receive circumcision on a sabbath that the law of Moses may not be broken, are ye wroth with me that I made a man all whole on a sabbath?
John 7:24Judge not according to the appearance, but judge just judgment.Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.judge not according to appearance, but the righteous judgment judge.`
John 7:25Some therefore of Jerusalem said: Is not this he whom they seek to kill?Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he whom they seek to kill?Certain, therefore, of the Jerusalemites said, `Is not this he whom they are seeking to kill?
John 7:26And behold, he speaketh openly, and they say nothing to him. Have the rulers known for a truth, that this is the Christ?But lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing to him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?and, lo, he doth speak freely, and they say nothing to him; did the rulers at all know truly that this is truly the Christ?
John 7:27But we know this man, whence he is: but when the Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.But we know this man, whence he is: whereas when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.but this one we have known whence he is; and the Christ, when he doth come, no one doth know whence he is.`
John 7:28Jesus therefore cried out in the temple, teaching, and saying: You both know me, and you know whence I am: and I am not come of myself; but he that sent me, is true, whom you know not.Then cried Jesus in the temple, as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.Jesus cried, therefore, in the temple, teaching and saying, `Ye have both known me, and ye have known whence I am; and I have not come of myself, but He who sent me is true, whom ye have not known;
John 7:29I know him, because I am from him, and he hath sent me.But I know him; for I am from him, and he hath sent me.and I have known Him, because I am from Him, and He did send me.`
John 7:30They sought therefore to apprehend him: and no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.They were seeking, therefore, to seize him, and no one laid the hand on him, because his hour had not yet come,
John 7:31But of the people many believed in him, and said: When the Christ cometh, shall he do more miracles, than these which this man doth?And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?and many out of the multitude did believe in him, and said `The Christ when he may come will he do more signs than these that this one did?`
John 7:32The Pharisees heard the people murmuring these things concerning him: and the rulers and Pharisees sent ministers to apprehend him.The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him: and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers that they may take him;
John 7:33Jesus therefore said to them: Yet a little while I am with you: and then I go to him that sent me.Then said Jesus to them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go to him that sent me.Jesus, therefore, said to them, `Yet a little time I am with you, and I go away unto Him who sent me;
John 7:34You shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither you cannot come.Ye will seek me, and will not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.ye will seek me, and ye shall not find; and where I am, ye are not able to come.`
John 7:35The Jews therefore said among themselves: Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go to the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?The Jews, therefore, said among themselves, `Whither is this one about to go that we shall not find him? to the dispersion of the Greeks is he about to go? and to teach the Greeks;
John 7:36What is this saying that he hath said: You shall seek me, and shall not find me; and where I am, you cannot come?What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye will seek me, and will not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?what is this word that he said, Ye will seek me, and ye shall not find? and, Where I am, ye are not able to come?`
John 7:37And on the last, and great day of the festivity, Jesus stood and cried, saying: If any man thirst, let him come to me, and drink.In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirsteth, let him come to me, and drink.And in the last, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, `If any one doth thirst, let him come unto me and drink;
John 7:38He that believeth in me, as the scripture saith, Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.he who is believing in me, according as the Writing said, Rivers out of his belly shall flow of living water;`
John 7:39Now this he said of the Spirit which they should receive, who believed in him: for as yet the Spirit was not given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.(But this he spoke of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive, for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)and this he said of the Spirit, which those believing in him were about to receive; for not yet was the Holy Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
John 7:40Of that multitude therefore, when they had heard these words of his, some said: This is the prophet indeed.Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, In truth this is the Prophet.Many, therefore out of the multitude, having heard the word, said, `This is truly the Prophet;`
John 7:41Others said: This is the Christ. But some said: Doth the Christ come out of Galilee?Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Will Christ come out of Galilee?others said, `This is the Christ;` and others said, `Why, out of Galilee doth the Christ come?
John 7:42Doth not the scripture say: That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem the town where David was?Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh from the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?Did not the Writing say, that out of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem the village where David was the Christ doth come?`
John 7:43So there arose a dissension among the people because of him.So there was a division among the people because of him.A division, therefore, arose among the multitude because of him.
John 7:44And some of them would have apprehended him: but no man laid hands on him.And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.And certain of them were willing to seize him, but no one laid hands on him;
John 7:45The ministers therefore came to the chief priests and the Pharisees. And they said to them: Why have you not brought him?Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said to them, Why have ye not brought him?the officers came, therefore, unto the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, `Wherefore did ye not bring him?`
John 7:46The ministers answered: Never did man speak like this man.The officers answered, Never man spoke like this man.The officers answered, `Never so spake man as this man.`
John 7:47The Pharisees therefore answered them: Are you also seduced?Then the Pharisees answered them, Are ye also deceived?The Pharisees, therefore, answered them, `Have ye also been led astray?
John 7:48Hath any one of the rulers believed in him, or of the Pharisees?Have any of the rulers, or of the Pharisees believed on him?did any one out of the rulers believe in him? or out of the Pharisees?
John 7:49But this multitude, that knoweth not the law, are accursed.But this people who know not the law are cursed.but this multitude, that is not knowing the law, is accursed.`
John 7:50Nicodemus said to them, (he that came to him by night, who was one of them:)Nicodemus saith to them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them)Nicodemus saith unto them he who came by night unto him being one of them,
John 7:51Doth our law judge any man, unless it first hear him, and know what he doth?Doth our law judge any man before it heareth him, and knoweth what he doeth?`Doth our law judge the man, if it may not hear from him first, and know what he doth?`
John 7:52They answered, and said to him: Art thou also a Galilean? Search the scriptures, and see, that out of Galilee a prophet riseth not.They answered and said to him, Art thou also from Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.They answered and said to him, `Art thou also out of Galilee? search and see, that a prophet out of Galilee hath not risen;`
John 7:53And every man returned to his own house.And every man went to his own house.and each one went on to his house, but Jesus went on to the mount of the Olives.
