| Acts 6:1 | And in those days, the number of the disciples increasing, there arose a murmuring of the Greeks against the Hebrews, for that their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. | About this time, as the number of disciples was increasing, complaints were made by the Greek-speaking Jews against the Hebrews because their widows were habitually overlooked in the daily ministration. | Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was increasing, protests were made by the Greek Jews against the Hebrews, because their widows were not taken care of in the distribution of food every day. |
| Acts 6:2 | Then the twelve calling together the multitude of the disciples, said: It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. | So the Twelve called together the general body of the disciples and said, "It does not seem fitting that we Apostles should neglect the delivery of God's Message and minister at tables. | And the Apostles sent for all the disciples and said, It is not right for us to give up preaching the word of God in order to make distribution of food. |
