John 14:1Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me."Let not your hearts be troubled. Trust in God: trust in me also.Let not your heart be troubled: have faith in God and have faith in me.
John 14:2In my Father's house there are many mansions. If not, I would have told you: because I go to prepare a place for you.In my Father's house there are many resting-places. Were it otherwise, I would have told you; for I am going to make ready a place for you.In my Father's house are rooms enough; if it was not so, would I have said that I am going to make ready a place for you?
John 14:3And if I shall go, and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will take you to myself; that where I am, you also may be.And if I go and make ready a place for you, I will return and take you to be with me, that where I am you also may be.And if I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to be with me, so that you may be where I am.
John 14:4And whither I go you know, and the way you know. And where I am going, you all know the way."And you all have knowledge of where I am going, and of the way to it.
John 14:5Thomas saith to him: Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?"Master," said Thomas, "we do not know where you are going. In what sense do we know the way?"Thomas said, Lord, we have no knowledge of where you are going; how may we have knowledge of the way?
John 14:6Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me."I am the Way," replied Jesus, "and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.Jesus said to him, I am the true and living way: no one comes to the Father but by me.
John 14:7If you had known me, you would without doubt have known my Father also: and from henceforth you shall know him, and you have seen him.If you all of you knew me, you would fully know my Father also. From this time forward you know Him and have seen Him."If you had knowledge of me, you would have knowledge of my Father: you have knowledge of him now and have seen him.
John 14:8Philip saith to him: Lord, shew us the Father, and it is enough for us."Master," said Philip, "cause us to see the Father: that is all we need."Philip said to him, Lord, let us see the Father, and we have need of nothing more.
John 14:9Jesus saith to him: Have I been so long a time with you; and have you not known me? Philip, he that seeth me seeth the Father also. How sayest thou, Shew us the Father?"Have I been so long among you," Jesus answered, "and yet you, Philip, do not know me? He who has seen me has seen the Father. How can *you* ask me, `Cause us to see the Father'?Jesus said to him, Philip, have I been with you all this time, and still you have no knowledge of me? He who has seen me has seen the Father. Why do you say, Let us see the Father?
John 14:10Do you not believe, that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak to you, I speak not of myself. But the Father who abideth in me, he doth the works.Do you not believe that I am in the Father and that the Father is in me? The things that I tell you all I do not speak on my own authority: but the Father dwelling within me carries on His own work.Have you not faith that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words which I say to you, I say not from myself: but the Father who is in me all the time does his works.
John 14:11Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?Believe me, all of you, that I am in the Father and that the Father is in me; or at any rate, believe me because of what I do.Have faith that I am in the Father and that the Father is in me: at least, have faith in me because of what I do.
John 14:12Otherwise believe for the very works' sake. Amen, amen I say to you, he that believeth in me, the works that I do, he also shall do; and greater than these shall he do.In most solemn truth I tell you that he who trusts in me the things which I do he shall do also; and greater things than these he shall do, because I am going to the Father.Truly I say to you, He who puts his faith in me will do the very works which I do, and he will do greater things than these, because I am going to my Father.
John 14:13Because I go to the Father: and whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, that will I do: that the Father may be glorified in the Son.And whatever any of you ask in my name, I will do, in order that the Father may be glorified in the Son.And whatever request you make in my name, that I will do, so that the Father may have glory in the Son.
John 14:14If you shall ask me any thing in my name, that I will do.If you make any request of me in my name, I will do it.If you make any request to me in my name, I will do it.
John 14:15If you love me, keep my commandments."If you love me, you will obey my commandments. If you have love for me, you will keep my laws.
John 14:16And I will ask the Father, and he shall give you another Paraclete, that he may abide with you for ever. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be for ever with you the Spirit of truth. And I will make prayer to the Father and he will give you another Helper to be with you for ever,
John 14:17The spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, nor knoweth him: but you shall know him; because he shall abide with you, and shall be in you. That Spirit the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him. You know Him, because He remains by your side and is in you.Even the Spirit of true knowledge. That Spirit the world is not able to take to its heart because it sees him not and has no knowledge of him: but you have knowledge of him, because he is ever with you and will be in you.
John 14:18I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you.I will not leave you bereaved: I am coming to you.I will not let you be without a friend: I am coming to you.
John 14:19Yet a little while: and the world seeth me no more. But you see me: because I live, and you shall live.Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me: because I live, you also shall live.A little time longer, and the world will see me no more; but you will see me; and you will be living because I am living.
John 14:20In that day you shall know, that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.At that time you will know that I am in my Father, and that you are in me, and that I am in you.At that time it will be clear to you that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I in you.
John 14:21He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them; he it is that loveth me. And he that loveth me, shall be loved of my Father: and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.He who has my commandments and obeys them he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will clearly reveal myself to him."He who has my laws and keeps them, he it is who has love for me: and he who has love for me will be loved by my Father, and I will have love for him and will let myself be seen clearly by him.
John 14:22Judas saith to him, not the Iscariot: Lord, how is it, that thou wilt manifest thyself to us, and not to the world?Judas (not the Iscariot) asked, "Master, how is it that you will reveal yourself clearly to us and not to the world?"Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, How is it that you will let yourself be seen clearly by us and not by the world?
John 14:23Jesus answered, and said to him: If any one love me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and will make our abode with him."If any one loves me," replied Jesus, "he will obey my teaching; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.Jesus said to him in answer, If anyone has love for me, he will keep my words: and he will be dear to my Father; and we will come to him and make our living-place with him.
John 14:24He that loveth me not, keepeth not my words. And the word which you have heard, is not mine; but the Father's who sent me.He who has no love for me does not obey my teaching; and yet the teaching to which you are listening is not mine, but is the teaching of the Father who sent me.He who has no love for me does not keep my words; and the word which you are hearing is not my word but the Father's who sent me.
John 14:25These things have I spoken to you, abiding with you."All this I have spoken to you while still with you.I have said all this to you while I am still with you.
John 14:26But the Paraclete, the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring all things to your mind, whatsoever I shall have said to you.But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will teach you everything, and will bring to your memories all that I have said to you.But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will be your teacher in all things and will put you in mind of everything I have said to you.
John 14:27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, do I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.Peace I leave with you: my own peace I give to you. It is not as the world gives its greetings that I give you peace. Let not your hearts be troubled or dismayed.May peace be with you; my peace I give to you: I give it not as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled; let it be without fear.
John 14:28You have heard that I said to you: I go away, and I come unto you. If you loved me, you would indeed be glad, because I go to the Father: for the Father is greater than I."You heard me say to you, `I am going away, and yet I am coming to you.' If you loved me, you would have rejoiced because I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I am.Keep in mind how I said to you, I go away and come to you again. If you had love for me you would be glad, because I am going to the Father: for the Father is greater than I.
John 14:29And now I have told you before it comes to pass: that when it shall come to pass, you may believe.I have now told you before it comes to pass, that when it has come to pass you may believe. And now I have given you word of it before it comes, so that, when it comes, you may have faith.
John 14:30I will not now speak many things with you. For the prince of this world cometh, and in me he hath not any thing.In future I shall not talk much with you, for the Prince of this world is coming. And yet in me he has nothing;After this I will not say much to you, because the ruler of this world comes: and he has no power over me;
John 14:31But that the world may know, that I love the Father: and as the Father hath given me commandment, so do I: Arise, let us go hence.but it is in order that the world may know that I love the Father, and that it is in obedience to the command which the Father gave me that I thus act. Rise, let us be going."But he comes so that the world may see that I have love for the Father, and that I am doing as I am ordered by the Father. Get up, and let us go.
