| John 18:1 | When Jesus had said these things, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where there was a garden, into which he entered with his disciples. | After offering this prayer Jesus went out with His disciples to a place on the further side of the Ravine of the Cedars, where there was a garden which He entered Himself and His disciples. | When Jesus had said these words he went out with his disciples over the stream Kedron to a garden, into which he went with his disciples. |

But the Jews said to him, We have no right to put any man to death. |

If my kingdom did belong to this world, my subjects would have resolutely fought to save me from being delivered up to the Jews. But, as a matter of fact, my kingdom has not this origin." | Jesus said in answer, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom was of this world, my disciples would have made a good fight to keep me out of the hands of the Jews: but my kingdom is not here. |

For this was I born, and for this came I into the world; that I should give testimony to the truth. Every one that is of the truth, heareth my voice. | "So then *you* are a king!" rejoined Pilate. "Yes," said Jesus, "you say truly that I am a king. For this purpose I was born, and for this purpose I have come into the world to give testimony for the truth. Every one who is a friend of the truth listens to my voice." | Then Pilate said to him, Are you then a king? Jesus made answer, You say that I am a king. For this purpose was I given birth, and for this purpose I came into the world, that I might give witness to what is true. Every lover of what is true gives ear to my voice. |
| John 18:38 | Pilate saith to him: What is truth? And when he said this, he went out again to the Jews, and saith to them: I find no cause in him. | "What is truth?" said Pilate. But no sooner had he spoken the words than he went out again to the Jews and told them, "I find no crime in him. | Pilate said to him, True? what is true? Having said this he went out again to the Jews and said to them, I see no wrong in him. |
| John 18:39 | But you have a custom that I should release one unto you at the pasch: will you, therefore, that I release unto you the king of the Jews? | But you have a custom that I should release one prisoner to you at the Passover.
