Philippians 2:1If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of charity, if any society of the spirit, if any bowels of commiseration:If then I can appeal to you as the followers of Christ, if there is any persuasive power in love and any common sharing of the Spirit, or if you have any tender-heartedness and compassion, make my joy complete by being of one mind,If then there is any comfort in Christ, any help given by love, any uniting of hearts in the Spirit, any loving mercies and pity,
Philippians 2:2Fulfil ye my joy, that you may be of one mind, having the same charity, being of one accord, agreeing in sentiment.united by mutual love, with harmony of feeling giving your minds to one and the same object.Make my joy complete by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in harmony and of one mind;
Philippians 2:3Let nothing be done through contention, neither by vain glory: but in humility, let each esteem others better than themselves:Do nothing in a spirit of factiousness or of vainglory, but, with true humility, let every one regard the rest as being of more account than himself;Doing nothing through envy or through pride, but with low thoughts of self let everyone take others to be better than himself;
Philippians 2:4Each one not considering the things that are his own, but those that are other men's.each fixing his attention, not simply on his own interests, but on those of others also.Not looking everyone to his private good, but keeping in mind the things of others.
Philippians 2:5For let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:Let the same disposition be in you which was in Christ Jesus.Let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus,
Philippians 2:6Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:Although from the beginning He had the nature of God He did not reckon His equality with God a treasure to be tightly grasped.To whom, though himself in the form of God, it did not seem that to take for oneself was to be like God;
Philippians 2:7But emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men, and in habit found as a man.Nay, He stripped Himself of His glory, and took on Him the nature of a bondservant by becoming a man like other men.But he made himself as nothing, taking the form of a servant, being made like men;
Philippians 2:8He humbled himself, becoming obedient unto death, even to the death of the cross.And being recognized as truly human, He humbled Himself and even stooped to die; yes, to die on a cross.And being seen in form as a man, he took the lowest place, and let himself be put to death, even the death of the cross.
Philippians 2:9For which cause God also hath exalted him, and hath given him a name which is above all names:It is in consequence of this that God has also so highly exalted Him, and has conferred on Him the Name which is supreme above every other,For this reason God has put him in the highest place and has given to him the name which is greater than every name;
Philippians 2:10That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those that are in heaven, on earth, and under the earth:in order that in the Name of JESUS every knee should bow, of beings in Heaven, of those on the earth, and of those in the underworld,So that at the name of Jesus every knee may be bent, of those in heaven and those on earth and those in the underworld,
Philippians 2:11And that every tongue should confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is in the glory of God the Father.and that every tongue should confess that JESUS CHRIST is LORD, to the glory of God the Father.And that every tongue may give witness that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:12Wherefore, my dearly beloved, (as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but much more now in my absence,) with fear and trembling work out your salvation.Therefore, my dearly-loved friends, as I have always found you obedient, labour earnestly with fear and trembling not merely as though I were present with you, but much more now since I am absent from you labour earnestly, I say, to make sure of your own salvation.So then, my loved ones, as you have at all times done what I say, not only when I am present, but now much more when I am not with you, give yourselves to working out your salvation with fear in your hearts;
Philippians 2:13For it is God who worketh in you, both to will and to accomplish, according to his good will.For it is God Himself whose power creates within you the desire to do His gracious will and also brings about the accomplishment of the desire.For it is God who is the cause of your desires and of your acts, for his good pleasure.
Philippians 2:14And do ye all things without murmurings and hesitations;Be ever on your guard against a grudging and contentious spirit,Do all things without protests and arguments;
Philippians 2:15That you may be blameless, and sincere children of God, without reproof, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation; among whom you shine as lights in the world.so that you may always prove yourselves to be blameless and spotless irreproachable children of God in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as heavenly lights in the world,So that you may be holy and gentle, children of God without sin in a twisted and foolish generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world,
Philippians 2:16Holding forth the word of life to my glory in the day of Christ, because I have not run in vain, nor laboured in vain.holding out to them a Message of Life. It will then be my glory on the day of Christ that I did not run my race in vain nor toil in vain.Offering the word of life; so that I may have glory in you in the day of Christ, because my running was not for nothing and my work was not without effect.
Philippians 2:17Yea, and if I be made a victim upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice, and congratulate with you all.Nay, even if my life is to be poured as a libation upon the sacrificial offering of your faith, I rejoice, and I congratulate you all.And even if I am offered like a drink offering, giving myself for the cause and work of your faith, I am glad and have joy with you all:
Philippians 2:18And for the selfsame thing do you also rejoice, and congratulate with me.And I bid you also share my gladness, and congratulate me.And in the same way do you be glad and have a part in my joy.
Philippians 2:19And I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy unto you shortly, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know the things concerning you.But, if the Lord permits it, I hope before long to send Timothy to you, that I, in turn, may be cheered by getting news of you.But I am hoping in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you before long, so that I may be comforted when I have news of you.
Philippians 2:20For I have no man so of the same mind, who with sincere affection is solicitous for you.For I have no one likeminded with him, who will cherish a genuine care for you.For I have no man of like mind who will truly have care for you.
Philippians 2:21For all seek the things that are their own; not the things that are Jesus Christ's.Everybody concerns himself about his own interests, not about those of Jesus Christ.For they all go after what is theirs, not after the things of Christ.
Philippians 2:22Now know ye the proof of him, that as a son with the father, so hath he served with me in the gospel.But you know Timothy's approved worth how, like a child working with his father, he has served with me in furtherance of the Good News.But his quality is clear to you; how, as a child is to its father, so he was a help to me in the work of the good news.
Philippians 2:23Him therefore I hope to send unto you immediately, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.So it is he that I hope to send as soon as ever I see how things go with me;Him then I am hoping to send as quickly as possible, when I am able to see how things will go for me:
Philippians 2:24And I trust in the Lord, that I myself also shall come to you shortly.but trusting, as I do, in the Lord, I believe that I shall myself also come to you before long.But I have faith in the Lord that I myself will come before long.
Philippians 2:25But I have thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow labourer, and fellow soldier, but your apostle, and he that hath ministered to my wants.Yet I deem it important to send Epaphroditus to you now he is my brother and comrade both in labour and in arms, and is your messenger who has ministered to my needs.But it seemed to me necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, who has taken part with me in the work and in the fight, and your servant, sent by you for help in my need;
Philippians 2:26For indeed he longed after you all: and was sad, for that you had heard that he was sick.I send him because he is longing to see you all and is distressed at your having heard of his illness.Because his heart was with you all, and he was greatly troubled because you had news that he was ill:
Philippians 2:27For indeed he was sick, nigh unto death; but God had mercy on him; and not only on him, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.For it is true that he has been ill, and was apparently at the point of death; but God had pity on him, and not only on him, but also on me, to save me from having sorrow upon sorrow.For in fact he was ill almost to death: but God had mercy on him; and not only on him but on me, so that I might not have grief on grief.
Philippians 2:28Therefore I sent him the more speedily: that seeing him again, you may rejoice, and I may be without sorrow.I am therefore all the more eager to send him, in the hope that when you see him again you may be glad and I may have the less sorrow.I have sent him, then, the more gladly, so that when you see him again, you may be happy and I may have the less sorrow.
Philippians 2:29Receive him therefore with all joy in the Lord; and treat with honour such as he is.Receive him therefore with heartfelt Christian joy, and hold in honour men like him;So take him to your hearts in the Lord with all joy, and give honour to such as he is:
Philippians 2:30Because for the work of Christ he came to the point of death: delivering his life, that he might fulfil that which on your part was wanting towards my service.because it was for the sake of Christ's work that he came so near death, hazarding, as he did, his very life in endeavouring to make good any deficiency that there might be in your gifts to me.Because for the work of Christ he was near to death, putting his life in danger to make your care for me complete.
