Acts 14:3 | A long time therefore they abode there, dealing confidently in the Lord, who gave testimony to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands. | Yet Paul and Barnabas remained there for a considerable time, speaking freely and relying on the Lord, while He bore witness to the Message of His grace by permitting signs and marvels to be done by them. | They stayed therefore a good while, speaking boldly, [confiding] in the Lord, who gave witness to the word of his grace, giving signs and wonders to be done by their hands. |
Acts 14:4 | And the multitude of the city was divided; and some of them indeed held with the Jews, but some with the apostles. | At length the people of the city split into parties, some siding with the Jews and some with the Apostles. | And the multitude of the city was divided, and some were with the Jews and some with the apostles. |

Acts 14:6 | They understanding it, fled to Lystra, and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the whole country round about, and were there preaching the gospel. | the Apostles, having become aware of it, made their escape into the Lycaonian towns of Lystra and Derbe, and the neighbouring country. | they, being aware of it, fled to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra and Derbe, and the surrounding country, |
Acts 14:7 | And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked. | And there they continued to tell the Good News. | and there they were announcing the glad tidings. |
Acts 14:8 | This same heard Paul speaking. Who looking upon him, and seeing that he had faith to be healed, | Now a man who had no power in his feet used to sit in the streets of Lystra. He had been lame from his birth and had never walked. | And a certain man in Lystra, impotent in his feet, sat, [being] lame from his mother's womb, who had never walked. |
Acts 14:9 | Said with a loud voice: Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped up, and walked. | After this man had listened to one of Paul's sermons, the Apostle, looking steadily at him and perceiving that he had faith to be cured, | This [man] heard Paul speaking, who, fixing his eyes on him, and seeing that he had faith to be healed, |
Acts 14:10 | And when the multitudes had seen what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice in the Lycaonian tongue, saying: The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men; | said in a loud voice, "Stand upright upon your feet!" | said with a loud voice, Rise up straight upon thy feet: and he sprang up and walked. |
Acts 14:11 | And they called Barnabas, Jupiter: but Paul, Mercury; because he was chief speaker. | So he sprang up and began to walk about. Then the crowds, seeing what Paul had done, rent the air with their shouts in the Lycaonian language, saying, "The gods have assumed human form and have come down to us." | But the crowds, who saw what Paul had done, lifted up their voices in Lycaonian, saying, The gods, having made themselves like men, are come down to us. |
Acts 14:12 | The priest also of Jupiter that was before the city, bringing oxen and garlands before the gate, would have offered sacrifice with the people. | They called Barnabas `Zeus,' and Paul, as being the principal speaker, `Hermes.' | And they called Barnabas Jupiter, and Paul Mercury, because he took the lead in speaking. |
Acts 14:13 | Which, when the apostles Barnabas and Paul had heard, rending their clothes, they leaped out among the people, crying, | And the priest of Zeus the temple of Zeus being at the entrance to the city brought bullocks and garlands to the gates, and in company with the crowd was intending to offer sacrifices to them. | And the priest of Jupiter who was before the city, having brought bulls and garlands to the gates, would have done sacrifice along with the crowds. |
Acts 14:14 | And saying: Ye men, why do ye these things? We also are mortals, men like unto you, preaching to you to be converted from these vain things, to the living God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them: | But the Apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of it; and tearing their clothes they rushed out into the middle of the crowd, exclaiming, "Sirs, why are you doing all this? | But the apostles Barnabas and Paul, having heard [it], rent their garments, and rushed out to the crowd, crying |
Acts 14:15 | Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways. | We also are but men, with natures kindred to your own; and we bring you the Good News that you are to turn from these unreal things, to worship the ever-living God, the Creator of earth and sky and sea and of everything that is in them. | and saying, Men, why do ye these things? *We* also are men of like passions with you, preaching to you to turn from these vanities to the living God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things in them; |
Acts 14:16 | Nevertheless he left not himself without testimony, doing good from heaven, giving rains and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness. | In times gone by He allowed all the nations to go their own ways; | who in the past generations suffered all the nations to go in their own ways, |
Acts 14:17 | And speaking these things, they scarce restrained the people from sacrificing to them. | and yet by His beneficence He has not left His existence unattested His beneficence, I mean, in sending you rain from Heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and joyfulness." | though indeed he did not leave himself without witness, doing good, and giving to you from heaven rain and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness. |
Acts 14:18 | Now there came thither certain Jews from Antioch, and Iconium: and persuading the multitude, and stoning Paul, drew him out of the city, thinking him to be dead. | Even with words like these they had difficulty in preventing the thronging crowd from offering sacrifices to them. | And saying these things, they with difficulty kept the crowds from sacrificing to them. |
Acts 14:19 | But as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up and entered into the city, and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. | But now a party of Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and, having won over the crowd, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the town, believing him to be dead. | But there came Jews from Antioch and Iconium, and having persuaded the crowds and stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing him to have died. |

Acts 14:22 | And when they had ordained to them priests in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, in whom they believed. | Everywhere they strengthened the disciples by encouraging them to hold fast to the faith, and warned them saying, "It is through many afflictions that we must make our way into the Kingdom of God." | establishing the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to abide in the faith, and that through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God. |
Acts 14:23 | And passing through Pisidia, they came into Pamphylia. | And in every Church, after prayer and fasting, they selected Elders by show of hands, and commended them to the Lord on whom their faith rested. | And having chosen them elders in each assembly, having prayed with fastings, they committed them to the Lord, on whom they had believed. |
Acts 14:24 | And having spoken the word of the Lord in Perge, they went down into Attalia: | Then passing through Pisidia they came into Pamphylia; | And having passed through Pisidia they came to Pamphylia, |

Acts 14:27 | And they abode no small time with the disciples. | Upon their arrival they called the Church together and proceeded to report in detail all that God, working with them, had done, and how He had opened for the Gentiles the door of faith. | And having arrived, and having brought together the assembly, they related to them all that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith to the nations. |
