Matthew 25:1Then shall the kingdom of heaven be like to ten virgins, who taking their lamps went out to meet the bridegroom and the bride."Then will the Kingdom of the Heavens be found to be like ten bridesmaids who took their torches and went out to meet the bridegroom.Then shall the kingdom of the heavens be made like to ten virgins that having taken their torches, went forth to meet the bridegroom.
Matthew 25:2And five of them were foolish, and five wise.Five of them were foolish and five were wise.And five of them were prudent and five foolish.
Matthew 25:3But the five foolish, having taken their lamps, did not take oil with them:For the foolish, when they took their torches, did not provide themselves with oil;They that were foolish took their torches and did not take oil with them;
Matthew 25:4But the wise took oil in their vessels with the lamps.but the wise, besides their torches, took oil in their flasks.but the prudent took oil in their vessels with their torches.
Matthew 25:5And the bridegroom tarrying, they all slumbered and slept.The bridegroom was a long time in coming, so that meanwhile they all became drowsy and fell asleep.Now the bridegroom tarrying, they all grew heavy and slept.
Matthew 25:6And at midnight there was a cry made: Behold the bridegroom cometh, go ye forth to meet him.But at midnight there is a loud cry, "`The bridegroom! Go out and meet him!'But in [the] middle of [the] night there was a cry, Behold, the bridegroom; go forth to meet him.
Matthew 25:7Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps."Then all those bridesmaids roused themselves and trimmed their torches.Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their torches.
Matthew 25:8And the foolish said to the wise: Give us of your oil, for our lamps are gone out."`Give us some of your oil,' said the foolish ones to the wise, `for our torches are going out.'And the foolish said to the prudent, Give us of your oil, for our torches are going out.
Matthew 25:9The wise answered, saying: Lest perhaps there be not enough for us and for you, go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves."`But perhaps,' replied the wise, `there will not be enough for all of us. Go to the shops rather, and buy some for yourselves.'But the prudent answered saying, [We cannot,] lest it might not suffice for us and for you. Go rather to those that sell, and buy for yourselves.
Matthew 25:10Now whilst they went to buy, the bridegroom came: and they that were ready, went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut."So they went to buy. But meanwhile the bridegroom came; those bridesmaids who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet; and the door was shut.But as they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and the [ones that were] ready went in with him to the wedding feast, and the door was shut.
Matthew 25:11But at last come also the other virgins, saying: Lord, Lord, open to us."Afterwards the other bridesmaids came and cried, "`Sir, Sir, open the door to us.'Afterwards come also the rest of the virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us;
Matthew 25:12But he answering said: Amen I say to you, I know you not."`In solemn truth I tell you,' he replied, `I do not know you.'but he answering said, Verily I say unto you, I do not know you.
Matthew 25:13Watch ye therefore, because you know not the day nor the hour."Keep awake therefore; for you know neither the day nor the hour.Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.
Matthew 25:14For even as a man going into a far country, called his servants, and delivered to them his goods;"Why, it is like a man who, when going on his travels, called his bondservants and entrusted his property to their care.For [it is] as [if] a man going away out of a country called his own bondmen and delivered to them his substance.
Matthew 25:15And to one he gave five talents, and to another two, and to another one, to every one according to his proper ability: and immediately he took his journey.To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one to each according to his individual capacity; and then started from home.And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to each according to his particular ability, and immediately went away out of the country.
Matthew 25:16And he that had received the five talents, went his way, and traded with the same, and gained other five.Without delay the one who had received the five talents went and employed them in business, and gained five more.And he that had received the five talents went and trafficked with them, and made five other talents.
Matthew 25:17And in like manner he that had received the two, gained other two.In the same way he who had the two gained two more.In like manner also he that [had received] the two, [he also] gained two others.
Matthew 25:18But he that had received the one, going his way digged into the earth, and hid his lord's money.But the man who had received the one went and dug a hole and buried his master's money.But he that had received the one went and dug in the earth, and hid the money of his lord.
Matthew 25:19But after a long time the lord of those servants came, and reckoned with them."After a long lapse of time the master of those servants returned, and had a reckoning with them.And after a long time the lord of those bondmen comes and reckons with them.
Matthew 25:20And he that had received the five talents coming, brought other five talents, saying: Lord, thou didst deliver to me five talents, behold I have gained other five over and above.The one who had received the five talents came and brought five more, and said, "`Sir, it was five talents that you entrusted to me: see, I have gained five more.'And he that had received the five talents came to [him] and brought five other talents, saying, [My] lord, thou deliveredst me five talents; behold, I have gained five other talents besides them.
Matthew 25:21His lord said to him: Well done, good and faithful servant, because thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will place thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord."`You have done well, good and trustworthy servant,' replied his master; `you have been trustworthy in the management of a little, I will put you in charge of much: share your master's joy.'His lord said to him, Well, good and faithful bondman, thou wast faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter into the joy of thy lord.
Matthew 25:22And he also that had received the two talents came and said: Lord, thou deliveredst two talents to me: behold I have gained other two."The second, who had received the two talents, came and said, "`Sir, it was two talents you entrusted to me: see, I have gained two more.'And he also that had received the two talents came to [him] and said, [My] lord, thou deliveredst me two talents; behold, I have gained two other talents besides them.
Matthew 25:23His lord said to him: Well done, good and faithful servant: because thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will place thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord."`Good and trustworthy servant, you have done well,' his master replied; `you have been trustworthy in the management of a little, I will put you in charge of much: share your master's joy.'His lord said to him, Well, good and faithful bondman, thou wast faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Matthew 25:24But he that had received the one talent, came and said: Lord, I know that thou art a hard man; thou reapest where thou hast not sown, and gatherest where thou hast not strewed."But, next, the man who had the one talent in his keeping came and said, "`Sir, I knew you to be a severe man, reaping where you had not sown and garnering what you had not winnowed.And he also that had received the one talent coming to [him] said, [My] lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou hadst not sowed, and gathering from where thou hadst not scattered,
Matthew 25:25And being afraid I went and hid thy talent in the earth: behold here thou hast that which is thine.So being afraid I went and buried your talent in the ground: there you have what belongs to you.'and being afraid I went away and hid thy talent in the earth; behold, thou hast that which is thine.
Matthew 25:26And his lord answering, said to him: Wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sow not, and gather where I have not strewed:"`You wicked and slothful servant,' replied his master, `did you know that I reap where I have not sown, and garner what I have not winnowed?And his lord answering said to him, Wicked and slothful bondman, thou knewest that I reap where I had not sowed, and gather from where I had not scattered;
Matthew 25:27Thou oughtest therefore to have committed my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received my own with usury.Your duty then was to deposit my money in some bank, and so when I came I should have got back my property with interest.thou oughtest then to have put my money to the money-changers, and when I came I should have got what is mine with interest.
Matthew 25:28Take ye away therefore the talent from him, and give it to him that hath ten talents.So take away the talent from him, and give it to the man who has the ten.'Take therefore the talent from him, and give it to him that has the ten talents:
Matthew 25:29For to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall abound: but from him that hath not, that also which he seemeth to have shall be taken away.(For to every one who has, more shall be given, and he shall have abundance; but from him who has nothing, even what he has shall be taken away.)for to every one that has shall be given, and he shall be in abundance; but from him that has not, that even which he has shall be taken from him.
Matthew 25:30And the unprofitable servant cast ye out into the exterior darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.`But as for this worthless servant, put him out into the darkness outside: *there* will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.'And cast out the useless bondman into the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 25:31And when the Son of man shall come in his majesty, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit upon the seat of his majesty."When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then will He sit upon His glorious throne,But when the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit down upon his throne of glory,
Matthew 25:32And all nations shall be gathered together before him, and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats:and all the nations will be gathered into His presence. And He will separate them from one another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;and all the nations shall be gathered before him; and he shall separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;
Matthew 25:33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left.and will make the sheep stand at His right hand, and the goats at His left.and he will set the sheep on his right hand, and the goats on [his] left.
Matthew 25:34Then shall the king say to them that shall be on his right hand: Come, ye blessed of my Father, possess you the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."Then the King will say to those at His right, "`Come, my Father's blessed ones, receive your inheritance of the Kingdom which has been divinely intended for you ever since the creation of the world.Then shall the King say to those on his right hand, Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from [the] world's foundation:
Matthew 25:35For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me to drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in:For when I was hungry, you gave me food; when I was thirsty, you gave me drink; when I was homeless, you gave me a welcome;for I hungered, and ye gave me to eat; I thirsted, and ye gave me to drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in;
Matthew 25:36Naked, and you covered me: sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me.when I was ill-clad, you clothed me; when I was sick, you visited me; when I was in prison, you came to see me.'naked, and ye clothed me; I was ill, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came to me.
Matthew 25:37Then shall the just answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, and fed thee; thirsty, and gave thee drink?"`When, Lord,' the righteous will reply, `did we see Thee hungry, and feed Thee; or thirsty, and give Thee drink?Then shall the righteous answer him saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungering, and nourished thee; or thirsting, and gave thee to drink?
Matthew 25:38And when did we see thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and covered thee?When did we see Thee homeless, and give Thee a welcome? or ill-clad, and clothe Thee?and when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in; or naked, and clothed thee?
Matthew 25:39Or when did we see thee sick or in prison, and came to thee?When did we see Thee sick or in prison, and come to see Thee?'and when saw we thee ill, or in prison, and came to thee?
Matthew 25:40And the king answering, shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me."But the King will answer them, "`In solemn truth I tell you that in so far as you rendered such services to one of the humblest of these my brethren, you rendered them to myself.'And the King answering shall say to them, Verily, I say to you, Inasmuch as ye have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it to me.
Matthew 25:41Then he shall say to them also that shall be on his left hand: Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels."Then will He say to those at His left, "`Begone from me, with the curse resting upon you, into the Fire of the Ages, which has been prepared for the Devil and his angels.Then shall he say also to those on the left, Go from me, cursed, into eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Matthew 25:42For I was hungry, and you gave me not to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me not to drink.For when I was hungry, you gave me nothing to eat; when thirsty, you gave me nothing to drink;for I hungered, and ye gave me not to eat; I thirsted, and ye gave me not to drink;
Matthew 25:43I was a stranger, and you took me not in: naked, and you covered me not: sick and in prison, and you did not visit me.when homeless, you gave me no welcome; ill-clad, you clothed me not; sick or in prison, you visited me not.'I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye did not clothe me; ill, and in prison, and ye did not visit me.
Matthew 25:44Then they also shall answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to thee?"Then will they also answer, "`Lord, when did we see Thee hungry or thirsty or homeless or ill-clad or sick or in prison, and not come to serve Thee?'Then shall *they* also answer saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungering, or thirsting, or a stranger, or naked, or ill, or in prison, and have not ministered to thee?
Matthew 25:45Then he shall answer them, saying: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it not to one of these least, neither did you do it to me."But he will reply, "`In solemn truth I tell you that in so far as you withheld such services from one of the humblest of these, you withheld them from me.'Then shall he answer them saying, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye have not done it to one of these least, neither have ye done it to me.
Matthew 25:46And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the just, into life everlasting."And these shall go away into the Punishment of the Ages, but the righteous into the Life of the Ages."And these shall go away into eternal punishment, and the righteous into life eternal.
