| Luke 18:1 | And he spoke also a parable to them, that we ought always to pray, and not to faint, | He also taught them by a parable that they must always pray and never lose heart. | And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; |
| Luke 18:2 | Saying: There was a judge in a certain city, who feared not God, nor regarded man. | "In a certain town," He said, "there was a judge who had no fear of God and no respect for man. | Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: |
| Luke 18:3 | And there was a certain widow in that city, and she came to him, saying: Avenge me of my adversary. | And in the same town was a widow who repeatedly came and entreated him, saying, "`Give me justice and stop my oppressor.' | And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. |

But afterwards he said within himself: Although I fear not God, nor regard man, | "For a time he would not, but afterwards he said to himself, "`Though I have neither reverence for God nor respect for man, | And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; |
| Luke 18:5 | Yet because this widow is troublesome to me, I will avenge her, lest continually coming she weary me. | yet because she annoys me I will give her justice, to prevent her from constantly coming to pester me.'" | Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. |
