Acts 1:2Until the day on which, giving commandments by the Holy Ghost to the apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up.after giving instruction through the Holy Spirit to the Apostles whom He had chosen, He was taken up to Heaven.until the day in which he was received up, after he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen.
Acts 1:3To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion, by many proofs, for forty days appearing to them, and speaking of the kingdom of God.He had also, after He suffered, shown Himself alive to them with many sure proofs, appearing to them at intervals during forty days, and speaking of the Kingdom of God.To these he also showed himself alive after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days, and spoke about God's kingdom.
Acts 1:4And eating together with them, he commanded them, that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but should wait for the promise of the Father, which you have heard (saith he) by my mouth.And while in their company He charged them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Father's promised gift. "This you have heard of," He said, "from me.Being assembled together with them, he charged them, "Don't depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which you heard from me.
Acts 1:5For John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost, not many days hence.For John indeed baptized with water, but before many days have passed you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit."For John indeed baptized with water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now."
Acts 1:6They therefore who were come together, asked him, saying: Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?Once when they were with Him, they asked Him, "Master, is this the time at which you are about to restore the kingdom of Israel?"Therefore, when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, are you now restoring the kingdom to Israel?"
Acts 1:7But he said to them: It is not for you to know the times or moments, which the Father hath put in his own power:"It is not for you," He replied, "to know times or epochs which the Father has reserved within His own authority;He said to them, "It isn't for you to know times or seasons which the Father has set within His own authority.
Acts 1:8But you shall receive the power of the Holy Ghost coming upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the uttermost part of the earth.and yet you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judaea and Samaria and to the remotest parts of the earth."But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth."
Acts 1:9And when he had said these things, while they looked on, he was raised up: and a cloud received him out of their sight.When He had said this, and while they were looking at Him, He was carried up, and a cloud closing beneath Him hid Him from their sight.When he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Acts 1:10And while they were beholding him going up to heaven, behold two men stood by them in white garments.But, while they stood intently gazing into the sky as He went, suddenly there were two men in white garments standing by them,While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing,
Acts 1:11Who also said: Ye men of Galilee, why stand you looking up to heaven? This Jesus who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come, as you have seen him going into heaven.who said, "Galilaeans, why stand looking into the sky? This same Jesus who has been taken up from you into Heaven will come in just the same way as you have seen Him going into Heaven."who also said, "You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who was received up from you into the sky will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky."
Acts 1:12Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount that is called Olivet, which is nigh Jerusalem, within a sabbath day's journey.Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called the Oliveyard, which is near Jerusalem, about a mile off.Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey away.
Acts 1:13And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode Peter and John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James of Alpheus, and Simon Zelotes, and Jude the brother of James.They entered the city, and they went up to the upper room which was now their fixed place for meeting. Their names were Peter and John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the brother of James.When they had come in, they went up into the upper chamber, where they were staying; that is Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.
Acts 1:14All these were persevering with one mind in prayer with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.All of these with one mind continued earnest in prayer, together with some women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and His brothers.All these with one accord continued steadfastly in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary, the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.
Acts 1:15In those days Peter rising up in the midst of the brethren, said: (now the number of persons together was about an hundred and twenty:)It was on one of these days that Peter stood up in the midst of the brethren the entire number of persons present being about 120 and said,In these days, Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples (and there was a multitude of persons gathered together, about one hundred twenty), and said,
Acts 1:16Men, brethren, the scripture must needs be fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who was the leader of them that apprehended Jesus:"Brethren, it was necessary that the Scripture should be fulfilled the prediction, I mean, which the Holy Spirit uttered by the lips of David, about Judas, who acted as guide to those who arrested Jesus."Brothers, it was necessary that this Scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who was guide to those who took Jesus.
Acts 1:17Who was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.For Judas was reckoned as one of our number, and a share in this ministry was allotted to him."For he was numbered with us, and received his portion in this ministry.
Acts 1:18And he indeed hath possessed a field of the reward of iniquity, and being hanged, burst asunder in the midst: and all his bowels gushed out.(Now having bought a piece of ground with the money paid for his wickedness he fell there with his face downwards, and, his body bursting open, he became disembowelled.Now this man obtained a field with the reward for his wickedness, and falling headlong, his body burst open, and all his intestines gushed out.
Acts 1:19And it became known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem: so that the same field was called in their tongue, Haceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.This fact became widely known to the people of Jerusalem, so that the place received the name, in their language, of Achel-damach, which means `The Field of Blood.')It became known to everyone who lived in Jerusalem that in their language that field was called 'Akeldama,' that is, 'The field of blood.'
Acts 1:20For it is written in the book of Psalms: Let their habitation become desolate, and let there be none to dwell therein. And his bishopric let another take."For it is written in the Book of Psalms, "`Let his encampment be desolate: let there be no one to dwell there'; and "`His work let another take up.'For it is written in the book of Psalms, 'Let his habitation be made desolate, Let no one dwell therein,' and, 'Let another take his office.'
Acts 1:21Wherefore of these men who have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus came in and went out among us,"It is necessary, therefore, that of the men who have been with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among usOf the men therefore who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and went out among us,

Acts 1:25To take the place of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas hath by transgression fallen, that he might go to his own place.to occupy the place in this ministry and Apostleship from which Judas through transgression fell, in order to go to his own place."to take part in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas fell away, that he might go to his own place."
