Deuteronomy 14:1Be ye children of the Lord your God: you shall not cut yourselves, no, make any baldness for the dead;`Sons ye [are] to Jehovah your God; ye do not cut yourselves, nor make baldness between your eyes for the dead;
Deuteronomy 14:2Because thou art a holy people to the Lord thy God: and he chose thee to be his peculiar people of all nations that are upon the earth.for a holy people [art] thou to Jehovah thy God, and on thee hath Jehovah fixed to be to Him for a people, a peculiar treasure, out of all the peoples who [are] on the face of the ground.
Deuteronomy 14:3Eat not the things that are unclean.`Thou dost not eat any abominable thing;
Deuteronomy 14:4These are the beasts that you shall eat, the ox, and the sheep, and the goat,`this [is] the beast which ye do eat: ox, lamb of the sheep, or kid of the goats,
Deuteronomy 14:5The hart and the roe, the buffle, the chamois, the pygarg, the wild goat, the camelopardalus.hart, and roe, and fallow deer, and wild goat, and pygarg, and wild ox, and chamois;
Deuteronomy 14:6Every beast that divideth the hoof in two parts, and cheweth the cud, you shall eat.and every beast dividing the hoof, and cleaving the cleft into two hoofs, bringing up the cud, among the beasts it ye do eat.
Deuteronomy 14:7But of them that chew the cud, but divide not the hoof, you shall not eat, such as the camel, the hare, and the cherogril: because they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof, they shall be unclean to you.`Only, this ye do not eat, of those bringing up the cud, and of those dividing the cloven hoof: the camel, and the hare, and the rabbit, for they are bringing up the cud but the hoof have not divided; unclean they [are] to you;
Deuteronomy 14:8The swine also, because it divideth the hoof, but cheweth not the cud, shall be unclean, their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch.and the sow, for it is dividing the hoof, and not [bringing] up the cud, unclean it [is] to you; of their flesh ye do not eat, and against their carcase ye do not come.
Deuteronomy 14:9These shall you eat of all that abide in the waters: All that have fins and scales, you shall eat.`This ye do eat of all that [are] in the waters; all that hath fins and scales ye do eat;
Deuteronomy 14:10Such as are without fins and scales, you shall not eat, because they are unclean.and anything which hath not fins and scales ye do not eat; unclean it [is] to you.
Deuteronomy 14:11All birds that are clean you shall eat.`Any clean bird ye do eat;
Deuteronomy 14:12The unclean eat not: to wit, the eagle, and the grype, and the osprey,and these [are] they of which ye do not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
Deuteronomy 14:13The ringtail, and the vulture, and the kite according to their kind:and the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after its kind,
Deuteronomy 14:14And all of the raven's kind:and every raven after its kind;
Deuteronomy 14:15And the ostrich, and the owl, and the larus, and the hawk according to its kind:and the owl, and the night-hawk, and the cuckoo, and the hawk after its kind;
Deuteronomy 14:16The heron, and the swan, and the stork,the [little] owl, and the [great] owl, and the swan,
Deuteronomy 14:17And the cormorant, the porphirion, and the night crow,and the pelican, and the gier-eagle, and the cormorant,
Deuteronomy 14:18The bittern, and the charadrion, every one in their kind: the hoop also and the bat.and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the lapwing, and the bat;
Deuteronomy 14:19Every thing that creepeth, and hath little wings, shall be unclean, and shall not be eaten.and every teeming thing which is flying, unclean it [is] to you; they are not eaten;
Deuteronomy 14:20All that is clean, you shall eat.any clean fowl ye do eat.
Deuteronomy 14:21But whatsoever is dead of itself, eat not thereof. Give it to the stranger, that is within thy gates, to eat, or sell it to him: because thou art the holy people of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in the milk of his dam.`Ye do not eat of any carcase; to the sojourner who [is] within thy gates thou dost give it, and he hath eaten it; or sell [it] to a stranger; for a holy people thou [art] to Jehovah thy God; thou dost not boil a kid in its mother`s milk.
Deuteronomy 14:22Every year thou shalt set aside the tithes of all thy fruits that the earth bringeth forth,`Thou dost certainly tithe all the increase of thy seed which the field is bringing forth year by year;
Deuteronomy 14:23And thou shalt eat before the Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose, that his name may be called upon therein, the tithe of thy corn, and thy wine, and thy oil, and the firstborn of thy herds and thy sheep: that thou mayst learn to fear the Lord thy God at all times.and thou hast eaten before Jehovah thy God, in the place where He doth choose to cause His name to tabernacle, the tithe of thy corn, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herd, and of thy flock, so that thou dost learn to fear Jehovah thy God all the days.
Deuteronomy 14:24But when the way and the place which the Lord thy God shall choose, are far off, and he hath blessed thee, and thou canst not carry all these things thither,`And when the way is too much for thee, that thou art not able to carry it when the place is too far off from thee which Jehovah thy God doth choose to put His name there, when Jehovah thy God doth bless thee;
Deuteronomy 14:25Thou shalt sell them all, and turn them into money, and shalt carry it in thy hand, and shalt go to the place which the Lord shall choose :then thou hast given [it] in money, and hast bound up the money in thy hand, and gone unto the place on which Jehovah thy God doth fix;
Deuteronomy 14:26And thou shalt buy with the same money whatsoever pleaseth thee, either of the herds or of sheep, wine also and strong drink, and all that thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat before the Lord thy God, and shalt feast, thou and thy house:and thou hast given the money for any thing which thy soul desireth, for oxen, and for sheep, and for wine, and for strong drink, and for any thing which thy soul asketh, and thou hast eaten there before Jehovah thy God, and thou hast rejoiced, thou and thy house.
Deuteronomy 14:27And the Levite that is within thy gates, beware thou forsake him not, because he hath no other part in thy possession.As to the Levite who [is] within thy gates, thou dost not forsake him, for he hath no portion and inheritance with thee.
Deuteronomy 14:28The third year thou shalt separate another tithe of all things that grow to thee at that time, and shalt lay it up within thy gates.`At the end of three years thou dost bring out all the tithe of thine increase in that year, and hast placed [it] within thy gates;
Deuteronomy 14:29And the Levite that hath no other part nor possession with thee, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow, that are within thy gates, shall come and shall eat and be filled: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the works of thy hands that thou shalt do.and come in hath the Levite (for he hath no part and inheritance with thee), and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, who [are] within thy gates, and they have eaten, and been satisfied, so that Jehovah thy God doth bless thee in all the work of thy hand which thou dost.
