Acts 14:6They understanding it, fled to Lystra, and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the whole country round about, and were there preaching the gospel.they became aware of it, and fled to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra, Derbe, and the surrounding region.they became aware of it, and fled unto the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra and Derbe, and the region round about:
Acts 14:7And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked. There they preached the gospel.and there they preached the gospel.
Acts 14:8This same heard Paul speaking. Who looking upon him, and seeing that he had faith to be healed,At Lystra a certain man sat, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked. And at Lystra there sat a certain man, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked.
Acts 14:9Said with a loud voice: Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped up, and walked. He was listening to Paul speaking, who, fastening eyes on him, and seeing that he had faith to be made whole,The same heard Paul speaking, who, fastening eyes upon him, and seeing that he had faith to be made whole,
Acts 14:10And when the multitudes had seen what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice in the Lycaonian tongue, saying: The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men;said with a loud voice, "Stand upright on your feet!" Acts 14:11And they called Barnabas, Jupiter: but Paul, Mercury; because he was chief speaker. When the multitude saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice, saying in the language of Lycaonia, "The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!"And when the multitude saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
Acts 14:12The priest also of Jupiter that was before the city, bringing oxen and garlands before the gate, would have offered sacrifice with the people. They called Barnabas "Jupiter," and Paul "Mercury," because he was the chief speaker. And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercury, because he was the chief speaker.
Acts 14:13Which, when the apostles Barnabas and Paul had heard, rending their clothes, they leaped out among the people, crying,The priest of Jupiter, whose temple was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and would have made a sacrifice with the multitudes. And the priest of Jupiter whose [temple] was before the city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the multitudes.
Acts 14:14And saying: Ye men, why do ye these things? We also are mortals, men like unto you, preaching to you to be converted from these vain things, to the living God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them:But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of it, they tore their clothes, and sprang into the multitude, crying out,But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of it, they rent their garments, and sprang forth among the multitude, crying out
Acts 14:15Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways."Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to the living God, who made the sky and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them;and saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good tidings, that ye should turn from these vain things unto a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that in them is:
Acts 14:16Nevertheless he left not himself without testimony, doing good from heaven, giving rains and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.who in the generations gone by allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways.who in the generations gone by suffered all the nations to walk in their own ways.
Acts 14:17And speaking these things, they scarce restrained the people from sacrificing to them.Yet he didn't leave himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you rains from the sky and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness."And yet He left not himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you from heaven rains and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.
Acts 14:18Now there came thither certain Jews from Antioch, and Iconium: and persuading the multitude, and stoning Paul, drew him out of the city, thinking him to be dead.Even saying these things, they hardly stopped the multitudes from making a sacrifice to them. And with these sayings scarce restrained they the multitudes from doing sacrifice unto them.
Acts 14:19But as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up and entered into the city, and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. But some Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there, and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul, and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead. But there came Jews thither from Antioch and Iconium: and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul, and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead.
